"Monsoon rainfall between June to September over the country would be 102 per cent of its long period average which means 88 cm," the earth sciences ministry official Madhavan Nair Rajeevan said.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department said that the southwest monsoon has made an onset over Kerala commencing the four month long monsoon period.

"Sea condition is very likely to be rough to very rough over east, central &amp; adjoining southeast Arabian Sea during the next 48 hrs," the earth sciences ministry said.

The ministry advised fishermen not to venture into the east, central Arabian Sea off Maharashtra coast and north-east Arabian Sea including the Gujarat coast over the next three&nbsp;days.&nbsp;

The Kerala government said it was gearing up to tackle the monsoon even as it battles the coronavirus pandemic. The state government predicts rise in monsoon related diseases as the monsoon begins to make way into the state.

It is a technology which it usually uses to locate terrorists, however, details about the secretive project have not been officially released but some ISI officials have leaked the information to certain news agencies.

The ISI is using geo-fencing and phone-monitoring systems to track patients and people who they came in contact with. Phone monitoring system is self-explanatory, geo-fencing on the other hand is a discreet tracking system that alerts authorities when somebody leaves a specific area.

Pakistan says it has resorted to these methods due to a lack of awareness among its citizens who are fleeing hospitals or flouting self-isolation rules. As per reports, Imran Khan himself has praised the programme.

A programme which has come up against little public debate or scrutiny by Pakistan's citizens. According to a senior security official these methods are now being used quite effectively.&nbsp;

The ISI and the Pakistan army already wield considerable influence over many aspects of cultural and political life in the country. They have been repeatedly accused of backing insurgents and hiding them.&nbsp;

In fact, human rights groups in Pakistan fear that the ISI will use the sweeping surveillance powers to trace political dissidents, some ex-Senators too have raised&nbsp;their voice against the practice like Afrasiab Khattak of the Awami National Party.

"The task of tracking and tracing the patients and suspected cases should be dealt with by provincial governments and local communities, let intelligence agencies do their actual job," Khattak said.&nbsp;

The fact is Pakistan has been struggling to come up with a cohesive national strategy to control the virus. Imran Khan showed reluctance in imposing a sweeping lockdown, he argued that the country could not afford it and gave in to Pakistan's powerful religious lobby and did not shut mosques.

Now with no solution in sight, he is turning to the Pak army and the ISI - the two organizations infamous for their track record on human rights abuses.

There are already numerous reports of how they have used the coronavirus distraction to target dissident leaders and activists.&nbsp;

The ISI has been accused of carrying out coordinated attacks on Baloch activists during the pandemic. On May 1,&nbsp;prominent Baloch journalist Sajid Hussain was killed mysteriously in Sweden, the next day, Arif Wazir, the leader of the Pashtun Tahafuz movement was shot in south Waziristan.

Two other student activists Ihsan Baloch and Shahdad Baloch were also killed in Pakistan in the same week.&nbsp;

The coronavirus may have slowed down the country's economy but it has certainly not slowed down the Pakistan deep state.

Odisha on Friday reported &nbsp;63 new COVID-19 cases taking the total number of cases to 1,723. The number of active cases stands at 827, the state health department said.

Meanwhile, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said: "I feel lockdown may be extended for 15 more days, I spoke to home minister Amit Shah, we demand that there should be some relaxations - restaurants should be allowed with social distancing at 50 per cent capacity. Many people also want gyms to resume."

As the virus continued to spread, Russian doctors said they were full to capacity.

Amid the virus, Kremlin announced that it was coordinating with countries including France to invite President Macron among other leaders to attend the annual military parade in Moscow on June 24 to celebrate victory over Nazi Germany in World War-II.

The parade which is normally held on May 9 every year was suspended in April by President Putin as COVID-19 cases began to surge in the country.

They said it is in violation of children's online privacy protection act which Americans call Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA).

Since the concerns are serious, WION sought some clarity from TikTok itself, we sent a mail to their office in India and raised some questions on the lines of the letter sent by the US lawmakers.

WION's first question&nbsp;was: TikTok users can side-step age verification through other social media platforms, what are Tiktok's policies to prevent this from happening? A child who doesn't have a TikTok account can easily get one by logging in through other safer social media platforms, how is this allowed?...

TikTok has notoriously been called a magnet for pedophiles even as thousands still lurk in its shadows. Predatory adults can freely message children on the app.

WION's question number two was: Do harmful trends like the hashtag skull breaker challenge not put the lives of children at risk? A challenge that often results in individuals slamming on the back of their head onto the ground. It once sent a 12-year-old child to the hospital, the absurd challenges and trends that emerge on the&nbsp;app aren't always fun.

Kids are not going to think about the outcome, they could be at risk of attempting something life-threatening. These concerns exist on almost all social media platforms but the interface of TikTok&nbsp;makes it easy for anyone and everyone to put out content.

It is mostly purely based on music and videos, it encourages people to let go of their inhibitions and it encourages themes that are mature in content. The result mostly is profanity and suggestive videos. It is a dangerous trend, TikTok must be regulated, if not banned.
