NASA issues sudden alert as massive asteroid comes too close to Earth at scary speed

The Gaia telescope of the European Space Agency has spotted 352 asteroids around potential moons.

According to the scientists, these asteroids did not have any companions and hence were what is known as "binary asteroids".

Because of the ultra-accurate astrometric data of the telescope, the scientists were able to find signs of tiny rocks flying around huge asteroids.

According to the ESA, this also proves the ability of Gaia to conduct 'blind' searches for finding unknown candidates and work like an asteroid explorer.

The JUICE mission of the European Space Agency is set to complete a new manoeuvre and break two records.

This is the first time the spacecraft will use two objects to carry out a gravity assist maneuver, and for the first time, it will also attempt Lunar-Earth flyby.

The Lunar-Earth Gravity Assist (LEGA) is likely to save JUICE many propellants, which the mission will use at a later stage.

This is a tough manoeuvre which was first planned 15 years ago and for this, the spacecraft should be launched at a precise second so that it is able to find the Earth and the Moon in the correct position.

How ESA's JUICE mission will fly by the Moon and Earth?

The spacecraft will first go around the Moon at 21:16 UTC on Monday evening (August 19) while losing some of its speed.

After 25 hours, it is expected to approach Earth. Because of Earth, it will slow down further and go towards Venus, however, there will be no room for errors.

“It’s like passing through a very narrow corridor, very, very quickly: pushing the accelerator to the maximum when the margin at the side of the road is just millimetres," said Spacecraft Operations Manager, Ignacio Tanco, in a statement.

“It’s a very important mission because we want to find out whether there are habitable places inside the icy moons, so Europa, Ganymede, or Callisto. That’s the main question of the mission,” said Dr Olivier Witasse, who is a planetary scientist working on the scientific aspects of the mission, while speaking to IFLScience.

According to the team, the fuel saved in this manoeuvre will help the JUICE mission orbit at nearly 200 kilometres (120 miles) from the surface of Jupiter's moon Ganymede because of which the spacecraft will be able to make precise observations.

Cohen-Tavor, along with his team, moved the giant boulders which were kept in specific arrangements in the third-century ruins and removed the floor.

According to various passages in the New Testament, Christ preached to his followers and healed those who were sick in a synagogue which was located in the ancient Israeli city of Chorazin. From across the world, the Jews travelled to this holy site in Korazim National Park which is in the north and where the temple's historical records are placed. However, there was no physical evidence which proved that the synagogue existed in the time of Jesus Christ. A team of archaeologists excavated the synagogue - which was found in 1905 - and stumbled upon the ruins of an even older temple which was buried beneath the synagogue. The synagogue was built in 380AD and it is suspected that the temple hiding beneath the floor was built even before that. Jesus walked from synagogue to temple more than 2,000 years ago: Experts According to the experts, Jesus Christ walked on the path which led to the temple more than 2,000 years ago. "This is a groundbreaking discovery. I have been excavating all over [the globe], and, for me, it's definitely one of the most important excavations I've ever directed," Achia Cohen-Tavor, lead archaeologist from Dagesh Tourist Archaeology, said. Cohen-Tavor, along with his team, moved the giant boulders which were kept in specific arrangements in the third-century ruins and removed the floor. The team removed the giant rocks and discovered pottery, coins and cookware which was nestled between them. "I can't date the rock itself when it was put here," said Cohen-Tavor, in a YouTube video in which he spoke about the find. "What I can date is the pottery and, hopefully, coins coming from the between the rocks and definitely what's beneath them. Whatever I get from between those stones would be dating the construction of the synagogue here," he added. Watch: Greece: Athens Acropolis closes due to heatwave Cohen-Tavor claimed that the giant boulders placed in the ground as well as the artefacts were the biggest evidence of first-century dwellings which was discovered in the region. In the Book of Matthew, the site in the city of Chorazin where the synagogue is located has been mentioned. It states that Christ preached at the site but also cursed the town after he and his teachings were rejected by the locals. "Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done because they didn't repent," read the holy book. "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes," it added. (With inputs from agencies)
