She went on to add, “Nobody in any field of work should fall victim to surprise reductions in expected compensation. It is unreasonable and unjust. Disney and other content companies are doing very well and can certainly live up to their obligations to compensate the performers whose art and artistry are responsible for the corporation’s profits.”<br />
In late July, Johansson filed a lawsuit against the company alleging that the studio breached her contract when it released ‘Black Widow’ simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+, a move she claims potentially cost her as much as 50 million USD.</p>

In its initial statement on the suit, Disney lashed out, saying, “There is no merit whatsoever to this filing. The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Disney has fully complied with Ms. Johansson’s contract and furthermore, the release of Black Widow on Disney+ with Premier Access has significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20M she has received to date.”</p>

Women are not ‘callous’ when they stand up and fight for fair pay – they are leaders and champions for economic justice. These sorts of attacks have no place in our society and SAG-AFTRA will continue to defend our members from all forms of bias,” concluded Carteris.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Bollywood director Omung Kumar, who has directed the Mary Kom biopic by the same name, has defended the casting of actress Priyanka Chopra in the titular role amid renewed criticism on her playing the role of the celebrated Manipuri athlete.</p>

Amid the ongoing controversy pertaining to casting actors from Northeast India for roles from that part of the region—for the sake of authenticity—filmmaker Omung Kumar has now defended casting Priyanka for the job.</p>

In doing so, Kumar reportedly cited examples of other actors taking on similar roles (that did not abide by the authenticity rules) and claimed that he has 'promoted Manipur the way no one else has'.</p>

In ‘Mary Kom’, Priyanka Chopra played the Manipuri boxer, while the Haryana-born Darshan Kumaar played her husband, Onler.</p>

I have promoted Manipur the way no one else has, and I am proud of it. I gave a lot of Manipuri actors inroads to Bollywood through the film. The film’s reach also has to be considered while casting. We did look at a lot of Northeastern actors for the parts played by Priyanka and Darshan Kumaar too but no one suited the role. People think Darshan, who hails from Haryana, was from Manipur (laughs). So, if they suit the part, an actor can play any role. Amitabh Bachchan played Anthony Gonsalves without being Christian. If there is a South Indian character in the film, there’s no hard and fast rule that states we have to cast a South Indian actor only in the role,” Kumar reportedly told an Indian daily.</p>

This renewed controversy is based on the recent Olympics triumph of Mirabai Chanu, and comments made by actor Lin Laishram, who had co-starred in ‘Mary Kom’. Both Laishram and Chanu are from Manipur.</p>

On the other hand, why not cast people from Northeast also as normal Indians in all walks of life which we are.”</p>

<p>Conductor Michael Tilson Thomas has undergone surgery for a brain tumour, and his spokesperson has confirmed the news to the media in a statement.</p>

On Friday, Constance Shuman, Tilson Thomas' spokeswoman said in a statement that the conductor-pianist-composer had his surgery at the University of California’s San Francisco Medical Center. The operation was successful, read the statement.</p>

“He is now embarking on a course of therapy for the next several months which necessitates curtailing his public appearances through the end of October,” Shuman reportedly said.</p>

The music maestro also took to his Instagram page to update his fans on his health and expressed his gratitude for ‘his excellent team’ who make him feel ‘cared for’.</p>

Meanwhile, Tilson Thomas has withdrawn from performances at major venues: namely, the National Symphony Orchestra for the Kennedy Center's 50th anniversary, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the New World Symphony and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.</p>

“I look forward to seeing everyone again in November,” he said in his post.</p>

Further, she revealed that her blood pressure dropped to 65/55 and detailed how she stayed at a hotel, to stay close to the sets of Luv Ranjan’s next to avoid travel hassles.<br />

In today's times, I felt that this would be good as it would save the time I would take to reach the set from my house. One day, after about three weeks of shooting, I felt very weak and I excused myself from the shoot''&nbsp;<br />

“I thought I would be okay in a day or so but the next day was equally bad. I reported on the set but a few minutes later, it all went spiralling downward. I could not do anything. They decided to rush me to Hinduja Hospital (Mumbai) and when I reached there, I was still worse. I needed a wheelchair to be taken upstairs. My blood pressure by then had dropped to 65/55."<br />

Nushrratt continued, ''By then, Mom and Dad had arrived at the hospital. The next 6-7 days were very bad. I did not get hospitalised; I am taking medicines at home. A full check-up has been done and I am okay. I have taken leave for about 7 days more from today. The doctor has advised 15 days of complete rest.”&nbsp;<br />

On the work front, her collaboration with Ranjan is under wraps with a hope of an official announcement soon. Apart from this, she was last seen in Netflix anthology, 'Ajeeb Daastaans' and also has several interesting projects including, 'Ram Setu', 'Hurdang' and more.</p>
