According to the survey commissioned by Texas-based Motel 6 and conducted by London-headquartered OnePoll, 75 per cent of the respondents hit a point when they need time away from the family. For 40 per cent Americans, staying with family during holidays is stressful

While 95 per cent of American people believe that it's important to spend holidays with family, about 40 per cent of the Americans planning to stay with family admit that it is a stressful experience.

An average respondent was found to be staying with family for 3.5 days. For hosting family, nearly 40 per cent said that they find sleeping arrangements as one of the most stressful parts of preparing the household for guests.

When staying with family, the top concerns were found to be a lack of privacy (22 per cent), family getting on your nerves (20 per cent), and drama between family members (20 per cent). That’s in addition to feeling like they’re imposing (19 per cent) and having the house be too loud or busy (18 per cent).

Climate Change studies will be mandatory in the US state of Connecticut from grades 5 to 12. The development, hailed as ‘landmark’ by climate change activists, comes after a new law passed earlier this year addressed the short duration and in some cases, complete absence of the climate change studies in classrooms.

Previously in 2020, New Jersey had become the first state to mandate K-12 climate change education across its school districts.

Reports say that nearly 90 per cent of public schools across Connecticut include climate change studies in their curriculums.

However, after being mandated as part of state law, climate change education will effectively become protected from budget cuts.

“The conservative turn in our country often starts at a very hyper-local level of local town boards of education. There is this push towards anti-intellectualism, anti-science, anti-reason, and I didn’t want local boards of education to have the power to overturn the curriculum and say, ‘climate change is too political,’” Connecticut state representative Christine Palm was quoted as saying by The Guardian.

FIFA World Cup final is a global showstopper every four years. At the showpiece event's moments of reckoning such as the final match, cities worldwide wear flamboyant looks including the designated spots of big-screen celebrations. But in Qatar, the celebrations even outside the venues are not as flamboyant this time. The latest is the famous Kim Jong-un lookalike who expressed on social media that FIFA World Cup in Qatar has failed the vibe check from him as everyone around him is sober.

Howard, in earlier days of FIFA World Cup this month, shared videos of himself sarcastically “lobbying for North Korea 2030”. Howard’s North Korea filtered sarcasm has touched a chord with football fans.

In Qatar, regular football fans have no access to alcohol at matches. Only spectators in the stadiums' high-end luxury suites have easy access to booze.

“I have been to the World Cup in Brazil and Russia, it was a blast,” Howard X, the Kim Jong-un lookalike said on Twitter on the evening before Argentina Vs. France FIFA World Cup final.

“This one in Qatar has a sterile vibe to it as everyone around me is sober. The only place that you can get a beer is a 20 minute walk from subway. One has to show (their) foreigner pass and go through airport style security,” he said.

Former FTX Chief Executive Sam Bankman-Fried may no more fight against extradition from Bahamas to the United States. The 30-year-old former cryptocurrency mogul will appear in a Bahamas court on Monday where he is expected to reverse his decision to contest extradition to the United States, where he faces fraud charges on at least a dozen counts, a person familiar with the matter was cited as saying by Reuters.

It was not immediately clear what prompted Bankman-Fried to change his mind and decide not to contest extradition.

Bankman-Fried was indicted in a United States federal court in New York on Tuesday. The court in Manhattan charged him of engaging in a scheme to defraud FTX customers by using billions of dollars in stolen deposits to pay for expenses and debts and to make investments for his crypto hedge fund, Alameda Research LLC.

What does it mean?

Bankman-Fried’s decision to consent to extradition would pave the way for him to appear in U.S. court to face wire fraud, money laundering and campaign finance charges.

Where will Bankman-Fried be kept?

According to defence lawyer Zachary Margulis-Ohnuma, once Bankman-Fried arrives in the United States, he will be kept at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York’s Brooklyn.

Prosecutors will likely argue that Bankman-Fried is a flight risk and should remain in custody because of the large sums of money involved in the case and the unclear location of those funds.

"It is troubling that rather than encouraging the administration to conclude its national security review of TikTok, some members of Congress have decided to push for politically motivated bans that will do nothing to advance the national security of the United States," a TikTok spokesperson said Friday.

TikTok said the company will "continue to brief members of Congress on the plans that have been developed under the oversight of our country’s top national security agencies — plans that we are well underway in implementing — to further secure our platform in the United States."

The bill, which is officially known as the "Averting the National Threat of Internet Surveillance, Oppressive Censorship and Influence, and Algorithmic Learning by the Chinese Communist Party Act" or the "ANTI-SOCIAL CCP Act", is designed to prohibit all transactions by social media companies controlled or influenced by "countries of concern".

The legislation comes amid the investigation and multiple warnings from Biden administration officials about reported "national security threats" posed by the app.

FBI Director Christopher Wray earlier this month warned that Chinese officials have broad access to TikTok, allowing them "to manipulate content, and if they want to, to use it for influence operations."

"All of these things are in the hands of a government that doesn’t share our values, and that has a mission that's very much at odds with what’s in the best interests of the United States. That should concern us," Wray said.

Wray has said he is "extremely concerned" about the threats posed by the app, explaining that the Chinese government can use it to "control data collection on millions of users," and then have the "opportunity to potentially technically compromise personal devices" of Americans.
