<p>Senator Marcos do Val, who has given multiple conflicting accounts since February, claimed that Bolsonaro and Silveira encouraged him to arrange a meeting with Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes, who also presides over The Superior Electoral Court (TSE), the highest body of the Brazilian electoral justice.&nbsp;</p>

Bolsonaro, however, denied that the name of Alexandre de Moraes was mentioned during the December 8 meeting.</p>

<h2><strong>Investigation&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>De Moraes revealed that do Val informed him about the alleged plot in December but did not file a formal criminal complaint. De Moraes considered the accusations unofficial and dismissed them as "ridiculous."&nbsp;</p>

<p>City leader John Lee reiterated his call for the public to avoid the wanted activists and treat them as "rats in the street."</p>

Hong Kong takes away family of wanted exiled activist Nathan Law for questioning

<p>Bank of America agreed to pay $100 million in restitution to harmed consumers and another $150 million in civil penalties after the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) said the bank violated a number of laws beginning in 2012.</p>

<p>Bank of America reaped hundreds of millions of dollars by charging multiple fees to customers who did not have enough funds in their accounts from February 2018 until February 2022, the CFPB said in a statement. Consumers could not reasonably expect or understand they would be hit with $35 fees each time the bank declined to pay a single transaction, regulators said.</p>

<p>In a statement, Bank of America said it voluntarily eliminated or reduced a range of fees last year.</p>

<p>The CFPB has launched a crackdown on a range of so-called "junk fees," including overdraft and non-sufficient fund fees, it says lenders unfairly charge customers for banking services.</p>

<p>"These practices are illegal and undermine customer trust. The CFPB will be putting an end to these practices across the banking system," CFPB director Rohit Chopra said in a statement.</p>

<p>The bank, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, also failed to make good on cash rewards and bonus points promised to tens of thousands of credit card customers, according to the CFPB.</p>

<p>In addition to paying penalties of $90 million to the CFPB and $60 million to the OCC, the bank agreed to update regulators on its compliance progress in a year.</p>

<p>Merrill discovered the issue in 2019, according to the SEC's order.</p>

<p>"Following an internal review, we reported this matter to regulators and have enhanced our process and training regarding these filings," the bank said in a statement on the matter.</p>

<p>Former US President Donald Trump and his aide Walt Nauta have requested a federal court in Florida to postpone their criminal trial involving classified documents. They argued that Trump's busy campaign schedule as a potential Republican Party nominee for the 2024 presidential election makes the current trial schedule "untenable".</p>

<p>In a joint court filing, Trump and Nauta's attorneys wrote that Trump's presidential campaign demands a "tremendous" amount of time and energy. They stated that his campaign efforts will continue until the election on November 5, 2024. "Such preparation requires significant planning and time, making the current schedule untenable and counselling in favour of a continuance."</p>

<h2><strong>Prosecutors' request&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Federal prosecutors had already proposed a delay of the trial from August 14 to December 11 to allow both sides more time for preparation.&nbsp;</p>
