Alex Pereira on his Comparison with Israel Adesanya

Alex Pereira (Brazil) and Israel Adesanya (New Zealand) are long-time rivals in the world of combat sports. Both fighters have faced each other in the UFC as well as in kickboxing leagues. Pereira is the current UFC Light Heavyweight champion and former Middleweight champion while Adesanya is the former Middleweight champion.

Pereira has had 12 fights in MMA so far including eight in the UFC. Of these 12 fights, the Brazilian has won 10 and lost two. Adesanya on the other hand, is much more experienced in this fighting style with 27 fights of which he has won 24 and lost three. He has 16 fights in the UFC and defended his title multiple times.

In a recent interview with Laerte Vian, Pereira was asked about his legacy stacked up against Adesanya. “Adesanya made several title defences, you know? I couldn’t defend the middleweight belt. So how much is that worth? Let’s try to put that into a score, how much is it worth? Maybe it’s worth, I don’t know, ten points for him, and my championship run is worth two.”

'What Matters is How You Inspire People'

The Brazilian pointed out that he became a double champ but Adesanya didn't. But this didn't matter. "What matters is what you do and how you inspire people. And I think I’m doing it very well,” he said.

Plank is an isometric core strength exercise that involve staying stationary in a position similar to a push up. While the act of planking is not hard, but holding the position is tough especially for beginners. However, the exercise has several benefits.

Plank just don’t work on your core, they work your entire body. The exercise requires your arms, your legs, and all of your abs, making them an all-encompassing workout and a more efficient way to exercise.

Plank helps to improve posture which is important for all, especially, for working people who sit on their office desks all day long.

Plank also helps in better flexibility. Getting into the plank hold position lengthens your hamstrings as well as the arches of your feet.

To Whey or Not to Whey. How Safe is Whey Protein?

Whey protein is not an alien term, as it resonates with people from the fitness industry and even those who are looking for an easy way to increase their daily protein intake.

It is the protein from whey, the liquid left behind after milk curdles when making cheese. It comprises several proteins and contains all nine of the essential amino acids your body needs to perform vital functions. Whey is added to many food products including ice creams, and chocolate bars.

Health.com classifies whey into three categories - whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, and whey protein hydrolysate.

The main benefits of whey protein include increased muscle mass, a reduction in appetite that promotes weight loss, and a possible reduction in heart disease risk factors. Despite these benefits, there has been an ongoing debate over the safety of whey protein, specifically, its components. So what are the side effects?

Some whey protein powders might be high in added sugar and calories, and the risk here is weight gain and an unprecedented spike in blood sugar. People with dairy allergies have gastrointestinal discomfort if they use a milk-based protein powder, says registered dietitian Kathy McManus. Whey can also contribute to acne development.

"It happens in a dictatorial government that the opposition is put in jail and is also prevented from campaigning. Today Election Commission of India has banned AAP's campaign song. This would have happened for the first time in the history of India that the Election Commission would have banned the campaign song of any party," Atishi told reporters in Delhi.
