In a bizarre incident, a woman suddenly shot at two drivers on a Florida interstate and claimed that she was asked by "God" to do so via the solar eclipse, as per the police.&nbsp;

The 22-year-old Taylon Nichelle Celestine stepped outside her Holmes County motel on Monday (April 8) where she “had recently checked out of a local hotel and told the staff she was going on a shooting spree, directed by ‘God’ in relation to the solar eclipse.”

Strangely, the Sunshine State was not even close to the path of totality and hence, was supposed to be the least affected by&nbsp;the astronomical phenomenon.

Celestine, who was driving a purple Dodge Challenger which had Georgia plates, reached Interstate 10 at the 112-mile marker and started firing at other vehicles which were five miles away from the highway in Washington County, said Florida Highway Patrol.&nbsp;

The woman allegedly shot at a car several times while it was moving on the interstate. “The driver was struck by glass fragments from the window and grazed on the arm by a bullet; however, he was able to steer his vehicle onto the shoulder of the road, away from the suspect,” as reported by the highway patrol.

The woman was armed with both a handgun and an assault rifle and continued to drive west on I-10 and fired on another vehicle which was close to the 107-mile market, as per the highway patrol.

As per the agency, the driver suffered a bullet injury in the neck and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

<h2>No end in sight</h2>

The ongoing war crossed the six-month mark on April 7, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeating his stance saying that Israel’s military offensive will not stop until Hamas is eliminated.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, over the past few months, ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas amid the ongoing war have largely stalled. The recent round of negotiations reportedly began over the weekend in the Egyptian capital city of Cairo.&nbsp;

At the end of the weekend, the Palestinian militant group was presented with a new proposal for ceasefire talks but it appears that it would not lead to a deal.&nbsp;

Hamas has confirmed that it is reviewing the latest proposal but said Israel “has not responded to any of the demands of our people and our resistance”.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Israel has rejected Palestinian demands to allow hundreds of thousands of Gazans back to the enclave’s north. The Hamas proposal also includes the complete withdrawal of Israeli military ground forces from the strip.

A commission set up by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was shown a slide containing excerpts from a February 2023 briefing of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) which said: "We know that the PRC (Peoples' Republic of China) clandestinely and deceptively interfered in both the 2019 and 2021 elections".

"In both cases, these FI (foreign interference) activities were pragmatic in nature and focused primarily on supporting those viewed to be either 'pro-PRC' or 'neutral' on issues of interest to the PRC government," it added.

"State actors are able to conduct foreign interference successfully in Canada because there are few legal or political consequences. FI is therefore low-risk and high-reward," said CSIS.

Germany denied accusations on Tuesday that it was aiding genocide in Gaza by selling Israel arms in a suit to the top U.N. court by Nicaragua reflecting mounting legal action in support of Palestinians.

Germany has been one of Israel's staunchest allies since the Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas militants and retaliatory offensive. It is one of its biggest military suppliers, sending 326.5 million euros ($353.70 million) in equipment and weapons in 2023, according to Economy Ministry data.

Germany and other Western nations have faced street protests, various legal cases, and accusations of hypocrisy from campaign groups who say Israel has killed too many Palestinian civilians in its six-month assault.

But Tania von Uslar-Gleichen, legal adviser for the German Foreign Ministry, told the International Court of Justice, or World Court, that Nicaragua's case was rushed, based on flimsy evidence and should be thrown out for lack of jurisdiction.

Arms exports were scrutinised for adherence to international law, she said.

"Germany is doing its utmost to live up to its responsibility vis-a-vis both the Israeli and the Palestinian people," she added, with Germany the largest individual donor of humanitarian aid to Palestinians.

Von Uslar-Gleichen said Israel's security was a priority for Germany given the history of the Nazi decimation of Jews. "Germany has learned from its past, a past that includes the responsibility for one of the most horrific crimes in human history, the Shoah," she said, using the Hebrew word.

A lawyer for Germany, Christian Tams, told the court that since Oct. 7, 98% of arms exports to Israel were general equipment like vests, helmets and binoculars. And of four cases where war weapons exports were approved, he said, three concerned arms unsuitable for use in combat and meant for training.

NICARAGUA AND SOUTH AFRICA PRESSURE ISRAEL

Lawyers for Nicaragua have asked the ICJ to order Germany to halt arms sales to Israel and resume funding of U.N. Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA.

They argued Berlin has violated the 1948 Genocide Convention and international law by supplying Israel while aware there was a risk of genocide.
