The Journal interviewed nearly 45 Republican and Democratic lawmakers and staffers&nbsp;who spoke about noticing Biden’s apparent deterioration in cognitive fitness while interacting with the 81-year-old leader in recent months.

The staffers and lawmakers said that the president has been seen speaking so softly in the meetings that it becomes difficult to understand what he is saying.

Meanwhile, others said that the president's grasp of policy details and demeanour differed by the day and he had to rely on notes frequently and sought help from aides during conferences.

“You couldn’t be there and not feel uncomfortable,” said one person, who claimed to have held talks with the president when critical negotiations were going on over providing Ukraine aid in January.

Meanwhile, others who attended the meeting recalled that Biden needed 10 minutes to start the meeting after entering the room and after he did, he had to resort to note cards to make obvious points on which people had already agreed. They added that the participants in the meeting were not able to clearly hear him.

“Much of the conversation didn’t include him,” stated the report, emphasising that the president also asked his staffers to answer some of the questions which were posed directly to him.&nbsp;

"This disinformation campaign isn't new for Russia, but Microsoft warns their tactics are evolving. &nbsp;They're using old tricks alongside artificial intelligence, and these efforts could escalate as the Paris Olympics draw near," he added.

Two prolific Russian cyber-actor groups, Storm-1679 and Doppelganger, have pivoted operations over the past year to directly target the Olympics.

Their activities escalated in June 2023 with the release on Telegram of a feature-length fake documentary titled "Olympics Has Fallen."

Using AI-generated Tom Cruise impersonations, dazzling CGI, and a seemingly authentic marketing campaign to discredit the IOC, this elaborate effort aims to chip away at global enthusiasm for the Games.

Storm-1679 has also repeatedly manufactured and amplified fictionalised videos, news clips, and press statements falsely claiming that fears of terrorism have sparked a wave of ticket cancellations and property insurance purchases among Parisians.

Microsoft informed that it suspected that Russian groups were behind the circulation of forged graffiti images threatening a repeat of the 1972 Munich Olympic massacre of Israeli athletes by Palestinian militants.

Firefighters on Tuesday (June 4) battled blazes across northern Israel that continued to rage after being ignited the previous day by rockets and drones launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon.

The Israel Fire and Rescue Services statement said, “over 30 firefighting crews were working to put out the fires"&nbsp;which led to the closure of several major roads in the Galilee area.

In Kiryat Shmona, firefighters dispersed throughout the mostly evacuated city to control the flames and prevent them from reaching homes. The fire service earlier reported that several yards, pergolas, and the roof of at least one home were on fire.

In Kibbutz Kfar GIladi, a video shared on social media showed a local security team battling flames encroaching on the community.

Notably, the fire service said the blazes had raged for over 13 hours, while noting the intense heatwave blanketing the affected areas.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, it was assisting in the firefighting efforts, adding that six reservists lightly hurt from smoke inhalation were taken to a hospital.

Five citizens who were slightly hurt from smoke inhalation, were treated at Ziv Medical Center in Safed.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office released a statement saying&nbsp;the premier held a&nbsp;review with senior security officials “about the developments in northern Israel” and was updated about the firefighting efforts.

The fires erupted amid escalating cross-border skirmishes between Israel and Hezbollah, with the Iran-backed militant group launching numerous barrages at the Galilee and Golan Heights in recent days.

According to the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, a series of rocket and drone attacks on Sunday sparked bushfires that consumed 10,000 dunams (over 2,470 acres) of foliage in open areas, including nature reserves.

It is worth mentioning here that&nbsp;since October 8, Hezbollah-led forces have attacked Israel along the border on a near-daily basis, with the group saying it is doing so to support Gaza amid the war there.

So far, the fight on the border has&nbsp;resulted in 10 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 14 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.

However, Hezbollah has named 328 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing conflict. In Lebanon, another 62 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have been killed.

Israel has expressed willingness to pursue a diplomatic solution to the conflict, but has warned of the possibility of going to war against Hezbollah to restore security in the north, where tens of thousands of civilians are currently displaced.

Immigration has dominated Britain’s political debate for more than a decade now and also played a significant role in the UK’s decision to leave the European Union.

Sunak’s Conservative party said it would announce plans for new annual caps on work and family visas to curb immigration, which involves a new cap on the number of visas that would be set by parliament each year.

A report by opinion pollsters YouGov released on Monday showed that the opposition Labour party is set for its biggest-ever victory in the upcoming election. The party led by Keir Starmer is expected to win by a larger margin than in 1997 under former Prime Minister Tony Blair.&nbsp;

According to the poll, the Labour party is expected to garner 422 seats out of 650 in the country’s parliament, well above the 320 seats needed to secure a majority.&nbsp;

The Conservatives are reportedly expected to get 140 seats. The estimates are based on a multilevel regression and poststratification (MRP) poll which uses big data sets and demographic analysis to predict results in individual seats.

The model also suggests “near wipeout” for Conservatives in many areas across the UK, including London, the North East, the North West, and Wales.

The four hostages have been identified as 80-year-old Chaim Peri, 80-year-old Yoram Metzger, 84-year-old Amiram Cooper, and 51-year-old Nadav Popplewell.&nbsp;

As per the Israeli military, the four men were held by the Palestinian Islamist group, which now has their bodies.

Videos posted by Hamas last month had shown all four men alive. However, Hamas as per Reuters later claimed that Popplewell died from wounds inflicted by an Israeli air strike when posting his video last month.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, an Israeli military spokesperson, stated that new intelligence led to the confirmation of their deaths. He said that the military believes the four men were killed together in Khan Yunis, a southern city in Gaza, several months ago while Israeli forces were active in the area.

"We assess that the four of them were killed while together in the area of Khan Yunis during our operation there against Hamas."

Hagari assured that the circumstances of their deaths are being thoroughly investigated, with findings to be shared transparently with the families first&nbsp;and then with the public.

Chaim Peri, who was 80, was at his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz during the Hamas attack. In a conversation with Reuters, his son recounted that Peri tried to protect his wife by hiding her behind a sofa and eventually surrendered to the gunmen to save her.&nbsp;

Amiram Cooper and Yoram Metzger, also from Nir Oz, were captured along with their wives, who were later released during a brief truce in November.

Nadav Popplewell was taken along with his mother from her home in Kibbutz Nirim. His brother was killed during the attack, and his mother was freed in the November truce.

Reacting to the Israeli military update on the Oct 7 hostages, and the death of Israeli-British Popplewell, British foreign minister David Cameron said he was "greatly saddened to hear about the death".

"We reiterate our demand for Hamas to send all hostages home," he added.

Of the more than 250 individuals kidnapped on October 7, around 120 remain in Gaza, with many others having been declared dead by Israeli authorities.

France is investigating suspected Russian interference after five full-sized coffins covered with the French tricolour were found at the Eiffel Tower over the weekend. Three people were arrested on Monday (Jun 3) after the coffins with the words “French soldiers from Ukraine” written on them were found near the Eiffel Tower.&nbsp;

<h2>What we know about the incident</h2>

Three men were seen arriving in a van near the Eiffel Tower around 9:00 am (local time) on Saturday (Jun 1). The police later found coffins allegedly placed by them containing sacks of plaster.&nbsp;

The three men were formally put under investigation on Monday. Each of the coffins, as per reports, was inscribed with the words “French soldiers in the Ukraine”.&nbsp;

It is believed that the inscription is referring to French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement who raised the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine amid its ongoing war with Russia. Moscow has since called the suggestion “dangerous”. Media reports citing sources suggested that Paris will soon&nbsp;send military trainers to Kyiv.&nbsp;

The French police quickly arrested the driver allegedly involved in the incident who said that he had been paid around $44 by two others to transport the coffins. He told the police he had arrived in Paris only the day before from Bulgaria.

The two others were later found at Bercy coach station in central Paris where they were reportedly planning to take a bus to Berlin.&nbsp;

The duo reportedly told the police that they had been paid around $436 to leave the coffins. The two suspects – a German and a Ukrainian – had travelled to France separately.&nbsp;

A report by French newspaper Le Monde citing a memo from the French domestic intelligence service, the DGSE, suggested the operation was coordinated by the Russian intelligence agency, FSB.&nbsp;

Le Monde citing security sources also said that the three men had been in contact with a man suspected of having sprayed red hands on the Paris Shoah Memorial, a Holocaust museum, last month.

<h2>Zelensky’s visit</h2>

The incident near the Eiffel Tower&nbsp;took place days before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was due in France for the 80th anniversary of D-day which will take place on June 6, when Allied soldiers landed in Normandy to drive out Nazi German forces during World War Two.&nbsp;

South Korea plans to suspend a military agreement signed with North Korea in 2018 aimed at easing tensions, the presidential office said on Monday, after Seoul warned of a strong response to balloons launched by Pyongyang carrying trash to the South.

North Korea has launched hundreds balloons carried by wind across the border that dropped trash throughout South Korea, which called it a provocation and rejected Pyongyang's claim it was done to inconvenience its neighbour.

The National Security Council said it would raise the plan to suspend the entirety of the military agreement for approval by the cabinet at a meeting on Tuesday.

Suspending the agreement will pave the way for the South to conduct training near the military border and take "sufficient and immediate measures" in response to North Korea's provocation, the Council said in a statement.

It did not elaborate what those measures may be.

The pact, which was the most substantive deal to come out months of historic summit meetings between the two Koreas in 2018, had been all but scrapped when Pyongyang declared last year it was no longer bound by it.

Since then, the North deployed troops and weapons at guard posts near the military border.

By continuing to comply with the pact, "there have been considerable problems in our military's readiness posture," the Council said.

South Korea has previously said it would take "unendurable" measures against North Korea for sending the trash balloons over the border, which could include blaring propaganda from loudspeakers positioned at the border directed at the North.

North Korea has said the balloons were in retaliation for a propaganda campaign by North Korean defectors and activists in the South, who regularly send inflatables containing anti-Pyongyang leaflets with food, medicine, money and USB sticks loaded with K-pop music videos and dramas across the border.

North Korea has reacted angrily to the campaign because it is worried about the potential impact of the materials on the psychology of the people who read or listen to them and on the state's control of the public, experts said.

According to X, it will detect what users are posting and state that if users fail to mark pornographic posts appropriately then “we will adjust your account settings for you”.&nbsp;

The platform has had similar rules for violent content&nbsp;which includes violent speech or media - which includes what threatens, incites, glorifies or expresses any kind of desire for violence or harm.

Even&nbsp;teens have reported seeing the circulation of more pornographic material on social media platform X in comparison to adult sites.&nbsp;
