<p>A fugitive Brazilian drug lord, Ronald Roland, who had been&nbsp;evading the law for two years, was arrested by the police after&nbsp;Instagram posts by his wife, Andrezza De Lima, accidentally gave clues about his location to the police.</p>

<p>The authorities have been monitoring De Lima's social media activity in a bid to track her husband's whereabouts. The police were able to track the couple through the pictures shared by her on Instagram which contained geo-tagged locations and recognisable landmarks.</p>

<p>De Lima owned a bikini shop and shared pictures and videos frequently on social media. She posted about her luxurious trips to various iconic destinations including Dubai, Paris, Maldives, and Colombia. Last week, she posted a picture that had a particular landmark, through which the police could identify their exact location.</p>

<p>According to the authorities, Roland was apprehended last Tuesday from his condominium in Guaruja, a coastal town in Brazil. He is&nbsp;suspected of being involved in a money laundering scheme and supplying drugs to Mexican cartels. The drug lord bundled up 860.2 million pounds in five years and shuffled the amount through over 100 shell firms and businesses.</p>

<p>De Lima was also involved in criminal activities with her husband and used her bikini shop as a front to launder money and receive payments which exceeded 30,000 dollars in a day.</p>

<p>After his arrest, Roland is facing multiple charges related to organised crime, drug trafficking, and evading arrest.</p>

<p><strong>Donald Trump Shooting News:</strong>&nbsp;Trump, the presumptive Republican Party presidential candidate, was shot at in an alleged assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday (Jul&nbsp;13).</p>

<p>The "subject involved" in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Mathew Crooks&nbsp;by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He attempted the horrific act using an AR-style rifle.</p>

<p>The 78-year-old former US president narrowly escaped the attack as the bullet grazed his right ear.&nbsp;Dramatic images from the incident show Trump with blood streaking across his face as he pumped his fist in the air, appearing to mouth the words "Fight! Fight! Fight!".</p>

<p>While Donald Trump is safe, a rally attendee died in the attack and two other spectators&nbsp;were injured, said the Secret Service in a statement. The shooter has also been killed.</p>

Trump, in the videos from the rally, can then be seen reaching for his ear with his right hand, looking at it before dropping to his knees behind the podium. Within seconds, the Secret Service agents swarmed and covered him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>About a minute later, Trump re-emerged, covered by the agents, his red "Make America Great Again" hat knocked off and pumping his fist into the air, appearing to mouth&nbsp;the words "Fight! Fight! Fight!" before being ushered into a vehicle.</p>

<p>Immediately after the attack on Trump, the US Secret Service managed to neutralise Crooks, whose identity remained unknown for a few hours. After initially refusing to reveal the identity without a DNA test, FBI made the identity official after media reports started carrying the name.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the subject involved in the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump on July 13, in Butler, Pennsylvania," the FBI said in a statement quoted by <em>NBC</em> and <em>CBS</em>.</p>

<p>According to witness accounts, photos and video footage available, it becomes clear that Crooks had positioned himself some 130-150 yards away from the stage at&nbsp;Butler Farm Showgrounds, where the presidential campaign event was in full swing.</p>

<p>Authorities are now investigating if Crooks was a 'lone wolf' or he had support of others.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It's too early to make that call. We have tentatively identified one shooter, but our investigation continues. We're following numerous leads, and it will take some time before we can conclusively determine if there was only one gunman," stated Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bevins.</p>

<p>Around 9,000 people have been evacuated in northeastern Canada because of raging wildfires, officials said Saturday.</p>

<p>The collaboration between the two nations will see several high-level agendas over the coming few years. This includes the "Partnership for the Planet" ahead of the Summit for Artificial Intelligence Action in Paris in February 2025, and the United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice in June 2025. France and India are co-chairing the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).</p>

<p>Ahead of the upcoming Paris Olympics, due to start later this month, the French embassy was decked in Olympic colours. Ambassador Mathou explained that the Olympic Games would serve as a platform to promote peace amid ongoing global conflicts.</p>

<p>"The Olympic and Paralympic Games will also be an opportunity to spread messages of peace and fraternity at a time when war is still raging in Ukraine following Russia's brutal aggression, and when we are underlining the urgency of restoring hope for peace and security in the Middle East," he said.</p>

<p>Historically, France has been supportive of India, and a key defence partner. After the 1998 Nuclear tests by India, France was not part of sanctions against India and was one of the few countries that continued to engage with India in the field of nuclear technology.</p>

<p>Half of the British adults voted at the 2024 general election, making it the lowest turnout by a share of the population since universal suffrage, according to a report.</p>

<p>As per the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) thinktank, just 52% of UK adults exercised their right to vote on 4 July, which is the lowest turnout since the vote was extended to all adults over 21 in 1928.</p>

<p>However, the IPPR stated that the figures are much lower as a share of the entire adult population, meaning if non-voting was a party, it would have the largest share of support by far.</p>

<p>Parth Patel, a senior research fellow at the IPPR and co-author of the report, called the report shocking and said, “Approximately only one in two adults voted this year was really shocking.”</p>

<p>"If democracy is collective self-rule and only half of us are voting, we need to consider the other half, who are less represented in politics and policymaking as a result," he said.</p>

<p>Due to concerns over low turnout, the Labour party is planning an elections bill next week after promising reform.</p>

<p>The party is likely to introduce automatic voting registration and lower the voting age to 16 from 18, to make it easier for people to come out and cast their ballot.</p>

<p>The IPPR report also found that constituencies with a larger share of older people, wealthy homeowners, and white individuals had much higher turnout rates compared to those with a smaller share of these demographics.</p>

<p>The turnout was 11% higher in constituencies with the highest proportion of over 64-year-olds, compared with the lowest, the report stated.</p>
