A United Nations report, issued earlier this month, has contradicted the claims on the manner and the time in which a key associate of Osama bin Laden was arrested by Pakistani authorities.

The Pakistani authorities had last week announced the arrest of Amin Muhammad ul-Haq Saam Khan, also known as Dr Amin, who they described as a close aide of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the deadliest terror attack in the US, the 9/11 attacks.

The 15th report of the ISIL/Al-Qaeda/Taliban Monitoring Team, submitted to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on July 8 gave a different picture. It&nbsp;suggested&nbsp;that the arrest was not the result of a sophisticated intelligence operation but rather a routine border security measure.

According to the UN report, Saam Khan was arrested for "illegal possession of weapons while crossing from Afghanistan into Pakistan in March 2024." The United Nations report also pointed, out that the arrest happened 4 months ago.

Hezbollah, Hamas launch rocket barrages at north Israel

A man from Florida accused of making threats against former President Donald Trump, US Sen. JD Vance and their families was arrested on Friday (July 19), police said.

The Jupiter Police Department announced that 68-year-old Michael M. Wiseman was arrested on Friday for charges of written threats to kill.

According to Jupiter Police Maj. Don Hennessy, Wiseman was taken into custody without incident and is now held at the Palm Beach County Jail.

Yemen's Houthi rebels on Sunday (Jul 21) promised a "huge" retaliation against Israel following a deadly strike on the port of Hodeida, as regional fallout widens from months of war in Gaza. The Israeli strike, the first claimed by Israel in Yemen, came a day after the first fatal attack by the Houthis in Israel. On Sunday, Israel said it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen and struck targets in southern Lebanon. Residents of southern Gaza reported combat in the Rafah area. The fighting across the region comes as Washington, Israel's chief military supplier, says a deal to end more than nine months of war between Israel and Palestinian militants Hamas is near the "goal line". But Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry warned Israel's attack on Hodeida "aggravates the current tension in the region and halts the ongoing efforts to end the war in Gaza." Dozens have been killed since Saturday across Gaza, the civil defence agency in the Hamas-run territory said, including in strikes on homes in the central Nuseirat and Bureij areas and near southern Khan Yunis. Residents said a major operation was underway in a district west of Rafah, where they reported heavy artillery and clashes. On Sunday, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, chief of the Iran-backed group, said the strikes on Hodeida would lead to "further escalation and more attacks targeting Israel" after the deadly Houthi drone strike on Tel Aviv changed the rules of engagement and opened "a new phase" in operations.
