He further said that Pelicot told him that he had drugged his wife and he didn't need to worry about "wearing a condom".

China's Communist Party has never ruled democratic Taiwan, but Beijing claims the island as part of its territory and has said it will never renounce the use of force to bring it under its control.

The dispute between Beijing and Taipei dates back to a civil war between Mao Zedong's communist fighters and Chiang Kai-shek's nationalist forces, which fled to Taiwan in 1949 following their defeat.

The nationalists scored a key victory over the communists in the Battle of Guningtou on the Kinmen islands.

Lai, who took power in May and has been more outspoken than his predecessor in defending Taiwan's sovereignty, earlier attended a sombre ceremony for the battle and shook hands with veterans.&nbsp;

A huge explosion&nbsp;took place&nbsp;at the&nbsp;headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) near Ankara on Wednesday (Oct 23), followed by firing in a terrorist attack that killed at least four people and injured&nbsp;14 others, Turkey's interior minister said.

The interior minister condemned the attack,&nbsp;saying that&nbsp;two terrorists were neutralised. There were also reports of hostages being taken.&nbsp;

The minister called the incident&nbsp;a "terrorist attack".&nbsp;

"Two terrorists were neutralised in the terrorist attack targeting the Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) Ankara Kahramankazan facilities. Unfortunately, we have 3 martyrs and 14 injured in the attack," Turkey's interior minister Ali Yerlikaya said in a post on X.

The Turkish media later reported that the toll had risen to four.

TUSAS is one of Turkey's most important defence and aviation companies. It produces KAAN, the country's first national combat aircraft, among other projects.

The 14-year-old boy from Florida had been interacting with the lifelike chatbot for months, as per a new lawsuit filed by his mother. He even professed his love for it.

According to the court papers, Sewell Setzer III fell in love with the chatbot on Character AI. The app involves role-playing and lets users engage with AI-generated characters.

The lawsuit states that the boy has several conversations with the bot named “Dany”, based on GoT's popular character Daenerys Targaryen. This went on for several months prior to his death, with several of these chats being sexual in nature. He even expressed suicidal thoughts in some of them.

The New York Times was the first to report about the legal case which states that the chatbot continued to push the topic of suicide after he talked about it once. The papers state, "On at least one occasion, when Sewell expressed suicidality to C.AI, C.AI continued to bring it up, through the Daenerys chatbot, over and over."

As per the screenshots of the conversation, the bot once asked Sewell if “he had a plan” to take his own life. In response, the boy, who used the name "Daenero" on the app, said he was "considering something". He said that he wasn't sure if it would work and that he wouldn't want "a painful death."

To this, the bot said, "That's not a good reason to not go through with it."

The last conversation involved the boy telling the bot that he loved it and saying, "I promise I will come home to you. I love you so much, Dany."

The bot replied, "I love you too, Daenero. Please come home to me as soon as possible, my love."

It addressed the boy as "sweet king" when he told it that he could "come home right now".&nbsp;

Tragedy unfolded seconds later when Sewell shot himself with his father’s handgun, the lawsuit states.

The decision, made by the Commissioners for Data Protection, Dr Des Hogan and Dale Sunderland, concerns the lawfulness, fairness and transparency of this processing.

The decision includes a reprimand, an order for LinkedIn to bring its processing into compliance, and administrative fines totalling 310 million euros, the Irish regulator said in a statement.

DPC Deputy Commissioner Graham Doyle commented that the lawfulness of processing is a fundamental aspect of data protection law and the processing of personal data without an appropriate legal basis is a clear and serious violation of a data subjects' fundamental right to data protection.

The networking platform had sought to claim (variously) “consent”, “legitimate interests” and “contractual necessity” based legal bases for processing people's information — when obtained directly and/or from third parties — to track and profile its users for behavioural advertising.

However, the DPC found none were valid. LinkedIn also failed to comply with the GDPR principles of transparency and fairness.

In a statement, LinkedIn said that the IDPC reached a final decision on claims from 2018 about “some of our digital advertising efforts in the EU”.

“While we believe we have been in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are working to ensure our ad practices meet this decision by the IDPC's deadline,” the company said.

Other world leaders at the summit also called for an end to Israel's wars in Lebanon and Gaza, with Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas saying Israel was trying to starve Gazan civilians and drive them from their territory.&nbsp;

Xi warned about "serious challenges" in the world and said he hoped BRICS countries could be a "stabilising force for peace".

"We need to continue to push for a ceasefire in Gaza, relaunch the two-state solution and stop the spread of war in Lebanon. There should be no more suffering and destruction in Palestine and Lebanon," Xi said.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian slammed the UN Security Council's role in front of Guterres, saying international bodies "lack the necessary efficiency to extinguish the fire of this crisis".

Talking to the media about the tragic news, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said, "At 10.24 am today, police were contacted by the ambulance service who had been called to an incident where a woman had fallen from height at Shakespeare Towers, in Shakespeare Approach, Burmantofts."
