Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to US presidency winner Donald Trump and discussed Iran threat.

"The conversation was warm and cordial. The prime minister congratulated Trump on his election victory, and the two agreed to work together for Israel's security. The two also discussed the Iranian threat," Netanyahu's office said in a statement.

Donald Trump has been chosen as the 47th President of the United States, becoming only the second individual in over 140 years to secure a non-consecutive second term. At the age of 78, he is now set to be the oldest person ever elected to serve in the White House.

On Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron said that he and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are committed to building “a more united, stronger, more sovereign Europe” following Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election.

Abortion rights ballot measures passed in seven states out of 10. The last state to pass such a measure on Wednesday was Montana. Here, in Montana, abortion rights advocates pushed to enshrine abortion rights until fetal viability into the state constitution as a safeguard against future rollbacks. 

Meanwhile, Florida, Nebraska and South Dakota rejected measures that would have created a constitutional right to abortion. 

In some of Montana's larger cities, ballot counting has been delayed with nearly 200 people still waiting in line after midnight at the courthouse in Gallatin. 

Trump declares victory as he bags 277 votes, defeating Democratic Kamala Harris, who has bagged 224 votes. 

With his win in Wisconsin, Trump cleared the 270 mark, required to clinch the presidency. 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he appreciates the commitment of Trump to establish “peace through strength”. 

“I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine,” wrote Zelenskyy on X. 

Zelenskyy added that Ukraine is interested “in developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that will benefit both of our nations.”

“We look forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership. I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the ‘peace through strength’ approach in global affairs. This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. I am hopeful that we will put it into action together,” he stated.

A ballot measure was approved by the voters in Arizona which will establish the fundamental right to abortion and prohibit the state from banning or restricting abortion before 24 weeks.

For abortion-rights supporters in the presidential battleground state it is a big win because they wanted to expand access beyond 15 weeks. 

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said that he is hoping to work with Trump “to advance peace through strength”.

“We face a growing number of challenges globally, from a more aggressive Russia, to terrorism, to strategic competition with China, as well the increasing alignment of China, Russia, North Korea and Iran,” said Rutte.

“Working together through NATO helps to deter aggression, protect our collective security and support our economies,” he stated.

Nevada became the first state to give approval to the ballot measure to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution. 

However, the state constitution will be amended in 2026 after voters approve the ballot question. 

In his victory speech, Trump said, "It’s time to put the divisions of the past four years behind us. It’s time to unite. We have to put our country first for at least a period of time. We have to fix it.”
 

South Dakota emerged as the second state which rejected a ballot measure which would have protected or restored abortion access since the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022.
 

Addressing the supporters, Vance thanked  Trump for "the trust" he showed in him and called the election results "the greatest political comeback in the history" of the U.S.

"After the greatest political comeback in American history, we're going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history under Donald Trump's leadership," said Vance.

After Vance delivered his brief speech, Trump said that he had "turned out to be a good choice."

In his victory speech, Trump said "God spared my life for a reason" which was to save the country.
 

Trump thanked Robert F. Kennedy Jr for his support and said that he is going "to help make America healthy again."

He said that Kennedy should "leave the oil to me" while referring to the longtime career of Kennedy as an environmental lawyer who opposed big oil.

"Now he's a great guy, and he really means that he wants to do some things, and we're going to let him go to it. I just said, 'But Bobby, leave the oil to me,'" Trump said.

While thanking family members and his campaign team, Trump praised tech mogul Elon Musk who was his biggest supporter. 

"We have a new star, a star is born: Elon. He’s an amazing guy, we were sitting together tonight. You know, he spent two weeks in Philadelphia, in different parts of Pennsylvania campaigning," Trump said.
 

Trump said that America gave him an "unprecedented mandate" in his victory speech. "America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate. We have taken back control of the Senate. Wow, that's great," he added.
 

In his victory speech, Trump said that he would “not rest until we have delivered a strong safe and prosperous America.”

“Every single day, I will be fighting for you with every breath in my body," he added.

Pennsylvania has a whopping 19 electoral votes, putting him close to securing victory against Democrat Kamala Harris, CNN and NBC News reported.

Vice President Kamala Harris won New Hampshire, continuing the state’s two-decade-long streak of awarding its four electoral votes to Democrats. 

No surprises here, New Hampshire has backed Democrats in seven of the last eight presidential elections.

Outgoing president Joe Biden made a round of congratulatory calls to Democrats who emerged victorious on Election Day.

According to the White House, he’s called Lisa Blunt Rochester, who won a US Senate seat in his home state of Delaware, and Matt Meyer, who was elected the state’s governor. He also called the outgoing governor, John Carney, who was elected mayor of Wilmington.

As per an Associated Press projection, Former President Donald Trump will win Ohio, Texas.

Republican Donald Trump won the statewide popular vote in Nebraska for the third consecutive election, receiving two electoral college votes. Previously, he won the state by 25 percentage points in 2016 and by 19 points in 2020.

Vice President Kamala Harris emerged victorious in the presidential election in New York, securing 28 electoral votes.

Since 1984, New York has voted for the Democratic Party in every presidential contest.

Democrat Andy Kim has won the Senate race in New Jersey, becoming the first Korean American elected to the US Senate.

Kim, previously a congressman representing New Jersey’s 3rd District, will be replacing Robert Menendez, who resigned following his conviction on bribery charges.

Democrat Lisa Blunt Rochester has made history in Delaware, by becoming the state’s first Black female senator. With this win, she not only becomes the first woman to represent Delaware in the US Senate, but also the first African American from the state to serve in the chamber.

CNN preliminary exit poll results from Pennsylvania show that about two-thirds of the voters they believe abortion should be legal in most or all cases.

Meanwhile, around 55 per cent of Pennsylvanians expressed their support for fracking, while fewer than 40 per cent opposed it. Roughly 30 per cent said the economy was their top concern, closely followed by the state of democracy. Other notable concerns included abortion (15 per cent) and immigration (12 per cent), with foreign policy trailing at under 5 per cent.

Republican Senator Rick Scott has been re-elected in Florida, according to the Associated Press.

Kamala Harris wins Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, among others.

Donald Trump wins Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Mississippi, among others.

Voting has concluded in over a dozen states, including Pennsylvania, a pivotal battleground. Polls closed at 8 pm in Pennsylvania, known as the Keystone State.

Alongside Pennsylvania, polls also closed at 8 pm in Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Washington, DC.

Meanwhile, voting also wrapped up in select counties in Florida and New Hampshire, where polls had stayed open slightly later.

CNN projections predict a win for Donald Trump in West Virginia. There are four electoral votes at stake in the state.

Vice President Kamala Harris will win Vermont, CNN projections show. There are three electoral votes at stake in Vermont.

As per CNN projection, Former President Donald Trump will win Kentucky and Indiana.

The US elections polls are closing in six states including Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vermont, and Virginia at 7 pm EST.

The polls will also be soon closing in North Carolina, Ohio, and West Virginia at 7:30 pm EST.

The exit polls by Edison Research has revealed that 73 per cent of the voters fear democracy is in jeopardy, while only 25 per cent believe it is secure.

According to the first preliminary exit polls, 44 per cent of the voters favour Donald Trump, while 48 per cent favour Kamala Harris.

The voters believe democracy, economy, abortion, and immigrations are the key issues.

An election observer noticed the a panel containing on/off switches on tabulators in Milwaukee's central count were not closed properly. The commission will recount the 30,000 votes which may lead to long night for election officials and result in a delay in result.

A Pennsylvania man has been charged with making online death threats against President Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton by Federal prosecutors.

Gregory Mitzel posted the threats on Facebook hours later the first assassination attempt was made on former President Donald Trump.

About 10 polling sites in Georgia counties are to remain open late with about 20 to 40 minutes extension. This is due to non-credible bomb threats that disrupted the voting, according to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

Trump may address thousands of supporters following poll closure

A CNN report claims that Donald Trump is planning to address his supporters at the Palm Beach Convention Center a few miles away from his Mar-a-Lago club today evening, hours after polls close across the country.

The report, citing people close to him, says Trump may choose to address the crowd regardless of the election results. 

The 2024 US election, which went to the polls on Tuesday, is set to become the most expensive in history, with total contributions reaching $15.9 billion.

The spending, which includes congressional contests, will surpass the $15.1 billion spent in 2020 and more than double 2016's $6.5 billion, according to nonprofit OpenSecrets.

In the hotly contested presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris has emerged as the fundraising leader. 

Her campaign directly raised over $1 billion, with 40 percent coming from small donors, plus an additional $586 million from supporting political action committees.

A 25-year-old man, Isaac Sissel, has been charged with making threats to carry out an attack against conservative Christians if Trump wins the election.

Kamala Harris’s running mate Tim Walz has said he believes Donald Trump “probably will” concede the election if he loses.

While talking to reporters before boarding a plane from Pennsylvania to Washington DC Tuesday, he said he was “feeling good about this.”

Advisors have reportedly urged Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to declare victory prematurely if he has sufficient lead in key swing states like Pennsylvania, The Guardian reported citing people close to him.

According to the report, the general consensus among the Trump team is that the former president has nothing to lose if he makes a victory announcement based on a lead of several hundred thousand votes in swing states. Trump has been advised to make a similar announcement if his internal pollsters give him the green light, even before the results are officially declared.

The FBI said on Tuesday that fake bomb threats have been made to polling locations in several states, many of which appear to originate from Russian email domains.

"None of the threats have been determined to be credible thus far," it said in a statement. It did not identify the states.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger also blamed a Russian operation for two non-credible bomb threats that prompted an evacuation of two Fulton County polling places. “We have identified the source,” Raffensperger told reporters. “It was from Russia. They don’t want us to have a smooth, fair and accurate election.”
 

US Capitol Police (USCP) just said they have arrested a man at the visitor centre who “smelled like fuel, had a torch & a flare gun.” The man had two containers with him, which smelled like gasoline.

“Our officers just arrested a man who was stopped during our screening process at the Capitol Visitor Center (CVC). The man smelled like fuel, had a torch & a flare gun,” USCP said in a statement. The man was immediately detained.

Kamala Harris cheered the end of the Boeing machinist strike which had left the assembly lines idle for seven weeks. The agreement was finalised by the International Association of Machinists on the eve of Election Day and included a 38 per cent wage increase for workers. 

“I want to congratulate Boeing and the IAM for reaching an agreement that secures historic wage increases and benefits for these workers,” said Harris, in a statement. 

“This agreement represents a positive step for Boeing’s future as a leader in the aerospace industry. As I always say: collective bargaining works," she added.
 

When Trump was asked about his stance over Florida's abortion measure, he first said that he had done “a great job bringing it back to the states.” When he was asked for the second time, he snapped at the reporter and said, “You should stop talking about it.”

If the abortion measure is applied, it will prevent lawmakers from passing laws which penalises, prohibit, restrict or delay abortion till fetal viability.

A man was arrested by the police after he said that he would come back with a gun and burn the polling site. The man had gone to vote in the town of Fowler but was informed he was ineligible to vote because he had failed to re-registered after release from prison.

In a news release, New York State Police said that they hunted down the man and arrested him.

Trump said that 1-day voting and paper ballots should be made a norm.

“I’m hearing in Pennsylvania they won’t have an answer ‘til two or three days from now. I think it’s an absolute outrage if that’s the case," said Trump. “It looks like we have a very substantial lead,” he added.
 

Speaking about the election results, Trump said, “If it’s a fair election, I’d be the first one to acknowledge". He added that he won't challenge the results as long as it is fair.
 

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said that he is "very confident" about clinching victory in the election and added that "it won't even be close".

 “I feel very confident. I hear we’re doing very well everywhere. It won’t even be close,” Trump declared.
 

The polling booths have opened in Hawaii, the last state in the United States where voting has commenced.

Hawaii has four electoral college votes and will be the among the last states to close polls at 19:00 local time. 

Voting hours will be open for two extra hours in a Cambria County of Pennsylvania after a software malfunction affected ballot-scanning machines, according to Pennsylvania state judge orders. 

The officials said that the problem caused some voter confusion, with some leaving without casting a ballot.

Trump has cast his ballot in Palm Beach, Florida, and stressed that his latest presidential campaign was the best yet.

While standing next to his wife, Melania Trump, he said, “I ran a great campaign. I think it was maybe the best of the three. We did great in the first one. We did much better in the second one but something happened. I would say this is the best campaign we’ve run."

Following Dixville Notch, polling stations are now active in Vermont, marking the official start of US election day.

Voting began at midnight Eastern Time on Monday in the small New Hampshire town of Dixville Notch, which traditionally opens its polls early. At 5:00 AM ET, the next polling stations opened in Vermont.

The small town of Dixville Notch in New Hampshire has kicked of Election Day with its traditional midnight vote early Tuesday.
