Donald Trump's rally in Arizona sees 11 hospitalised due to heat
Eleven people were hospitalised for heat exhaustion during a Trump rally held on Thursday (June 6) amid high temperatures in Phoenix.
Several people waiting outside the Phoenix Chruch, where the event was organised, reportedly fainted from the heat, according to ABC News.
Firefighters were seen treating people with ice packsand 11 people being taken to the hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known.
The National Weather Service had predicted record-breaking temperatures in the region for Thursday. An excessive heat warning was administered for Phoenix through Friday (June 7), with residents being urged to limit outdoor activities.
Donald Trump, who has repetitively downplayed the impact of climate change, spoke for around 90 minutes at the rally before leaving to attend a fundraiser in San Francisco.

An early-season heatwave is causing life-threatening temperatures for 30 million people from Texas to California. The hottest temperature in the US on Wednesday (June 5) was recorded in Death Valley, California, where it reached a scorching 118 degrees.
On Thursday (June 6), temperatures are expected to touch 112 degrees in Las Vegas, 111 degrees in Phoenix, 110 degrees in Palm Springs, and 107 degrees in Tucson, Arizona, as well as Fresno, California.
Meanwhile, record highs are possible in cities like Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Doctors advise to take excessive heat warnings seriously. Each year in US, hundreds die due to excessive heat, according to CDC WONDER, an online database, and scientists caution that the actual number of heat-related deaths is likelyhigher.
