In the aftermath of the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that visas of immigrants who were ‘celebrating’ his death will be revoked. In a post on X, Rubio shared a video of himself saying they are not “in the business of inviting people to visit our country who are going to be involved in negative and destructive behaviour". Rubio highlighted that the United States holds high standards for granting visas, whether for students, tourists, or others. He stated that individuals who celebrate the murder, execution, or assassination of political figures should not be allowed entry or should have their visas revoked if already in the country. Rubio condemned such behaviour, declaring that people who support or cheer on such acts are “not welcome” in America.
In a strong message, he warned that visa revocations are underway and anyone found celebrating political assassinations while on a visa should prepare for deportation. Rubio’s stance reflects a firm position against those who disrespect American citizens and the country’s values, underscoring the U.S. commitment to maintaining security and civility within its borders. His statement was accompanied by a video and a caption reinforcing that the nation will not tolerate such conduct from foreign visitors or residents.

A suspect named Tyler Robinson has been arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the murder case. Investigations have revealed several controversial things, including his alleged transgender partner, Lance Twiggs.
