In a narrow Valletta side street, D'Amato Records beckons with posters, 7-inches and a T-shirt proclaiming it the "World's Oldest Record Shop" Inside, owner Anthony D'Amato flips a traditional Maltese music vinyl onto the turntable and a warm crackle fills the room. He says the shop was founded in 1885 by his great-great-grandfather, Giovanni D’Amato, an Italian immigrant from Naples who set up on this very spot.
