It is common to see Indian moms drying clothes on the balcony in India, but not so common in Dubai. An Indian woman left the internet divided when a video went viral of her hanging clothes to dry on a balcony of the hotel Atlantis, The Palm, the most iconic and luxurious hotel in Dubai.
In the video shared on Instagram by Pallavi Venkatesh, her mother can be seen hanging a pair of shorts on the balcony rail of the hotel to dry in the sun with the caption, "Moms just momming at Palm Atlantis". The video received comments from users either praising or criticising her. The hotel also responded to the viral post.

In just six days, the video has gained 11.1 million views and more than 900 comments. Some users found the video humorous and responded, "Our moms are the best" and "She is Mom. She can do anything". Another user commented, "You can take mom out of India but to take India out of mom is just impossible."
However, many users also criticised the act, with one user commenting, "This is bad manners in other countries. Respect the rules of the hotel that you are staying in." Another user responded, "It's illegal to do this in Dubai! U can get fined, check the laws."
"Mom duties," Atlantis, The Palm Hotel commented on the viral video with an applauding emote. "We hope you enjoyed your stay! (We include a retractable drying cord in every bathroom, so that you can dry your clothing over the bath)"
Responding to the hotel, the user said that they did not have enough time to dry their clothes and preferred to dry them quickly out in the Dubai weather.
