Forensics will also be carried out on the boat. The number, nationality and cause of death of the victims is not yet known, federal police confirmed.

This is not&nbsp;the first time that vessels carrying dead bodies were spotted by fishermen on the western side of the Atlantic Ocean. In 2021, at least seven boats full of corpses washed up in Brazil and the Eastern Caribbean.

The lawsuit alleges that Todd, a former rheumatologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital specialising in treating inflammatory conditions of muscles, joints, and bones, began abusing patients in 2010. It further accuses several dozen other defendants, including Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital and Charles River Medical Associates, of being aware of the abuse and failing to intervene.

William Thompson of Lubin &amp; Meyer, Boston-based firm that represents most of the victims, described the case as remarkable due to the significant number of individuals who were exploited by him. Thompson also questioned how such misconduct could persist within the hospital and practice group for so long without detection or intervention.

Anthony Abeln, Todd's lawyer, stated that Todd would not litigate this matter in the media, but he will defend his care as the case progresses through the Massachusetts Superior Court system.

Initially the hospital received anonymous complaint about Todd that prompted an internal investigation. He was asked not to conduct sensitive examinations without a chaperone. In June, he was placed on administrative leave and later terminated.

The hospital reported the incident to the Department of Public Health, the state Board of Registration in Medicine, law enforcement, and Todd's current and former patients.

Wearing guards and a helmet, the teenager gets out of the pickup truck from the passenger side and runs towards the deputy. But as she starts running towards the deputy, other officers from a higher elevation open fire. The deputy was screaming “Stop! Stop shooting her! He’s in the car! Stop!”

However, the deputy's shouts were not broadcast over the radio, said the sheriff's department, but the audio was captured by his belt recorder. A deputy in the helicopter can be heard saying ‘Oh, no’ over the radio after the teen was shot.

The autopsy reports of the teenager and her father who was killed a day before the gun battle have not been released.

The department reported four sheriff's department vehicles were struck by gunfire during the hunt, and deputies seized multiple firearms and hundreds of rounds from the pickup truck, as well as flash bangs, smoke grenades, body armour and tactical helmets.

Savannah Graziano was not armed when she was shot.

Women, younger workers, and those on lower wages face the highest risk of losing their jobs to AI. It includes entry-level, part-time, secretarial, customer service, and administrative roles.

<h2>Two waves of AI adoption</h2>

According to the report, there will be two waves of AI adoption: the first wave, already underway, and a second wave where AI tech will be deeply integrated into workplace processes.&nbsp;

The think tank analysed over 22,000 tasks done manually by workers, covering almost every type of job, and deduced that 11% of tasks such as database management, scheduling, and stocktaking could be automated. Not only that, the study predicted that during the second wave, up to 59% of tasks done by the workers manually could be replaced by AI.

<h2>What is the 'worst-case scenario'?</h2>

In the worst-case scenario, the second wave of AI adoption could cause 7.9 million job losses without any GDP gains. Carsten Jung, senior economist at IPPR told the Guardian, “Already existing generative AI could lead to big labour market disruption or it could hugely boost economic growth. Either way, it is set to be a gamechanger for millions of us.”

“But technology isn’t destiny and a jobs apocalypse is not inevitable – government, employers and unions have the opportunity to make crucial design decisions now that ensure we manage this new technology well. If they don’t act soon, it may be too late.”

However this could be controlled by proper intervention if workers are augmented to work alongside AI, it could lead to an economic boost of up to 13% to GDP, around £306 billion a year.

The IPPR report urged&nbsp;the government to implement a job-centric industrial strategy for AI. This includes tax incentives, subsidies for AI training, and regulatory changes. The government last month announced plans to invest £90 million in AI research hubs across the UK to explore responsible AI use in various sectors.

The think tank analysed over 22,000 tasks done manually by workers, covering almost every type of job, and deduced that 11% of tasks such as database management, scheduling, and stocktaking could be automated. Not only that, the study predicted that during the second wave, up to 59% of tasks done by the workers manually could be replaced by AI. What is the 'worst-case scenario'? In the worst-case scenario, the second wave of AI adoption could cause 7.9 million job losses without any GDP gains. Carsten Jung, senior economist at IPPR told the Guardian, “Already existing generative AI could lead to big labour market disruption or it could hugely boost economic growth. Either way, it is set to be a gamechanger for millions of us.” “But technology isn’t destiny and a jobs apocalypse is not inevitable – government, employers and unions have the opportunity to make crucial design decisions now that ensure we manage this new technology well. Recently, the Indian Navy rescued 17 crew members from the vessel MV Ruen during an anti-piracy operation that led to the capture of 35 Somali pirates who had taken over the ship. The pirates were handed over to the Mumbai Police on Saturday (Mar&nbsp;23) after completing formalities with Customs and Immigration.&nbsp; 
 
Mumbai Police officials took the pirates in their custody and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Maritime Anti Piracy Act and the Arms Act.

<h2>How did the Indian Navy conduct this operation?</h2>

Last December, Somali pirates had hijacked the Bulgarian ship MV Ruen and last week&nbsp; they ventured out of Somali waters with piracy intentions, but the Indian Navy stepped in to thwart it.

On March 15, INS Kolkata intercepted the pirate ship, disabling its steering system and navigational aids, forcing it to halt. The operation involved a navy destroyer, a patrol ship, an Indian Air Force C-17 transporter flying over 1,500 miles to airdrop marine commandos, a naval drone, a reconnaissance drone, and a P-8 surveillance jet.

A press note by the Ministry of Defence read, “The Indian Navy as part of Maritime Security Operations has been carrying out extensive surveillance in the region including monitoring of traffic in Areas of Interest. Based on analysis of surveillance information, the Indian Navy was able to track the movement of the pirate ship Ruen and directed INS Kolkata to intercept the ship about 260 nautical miles (NM) east of Somalia.”

The Indian Navy safely evacuated all 17 original crew members of MV Ruen without any harm. Additionally, the 35 Somali pirates surrendered themselves the same day.

The pirates will face legal action under Indian laws, including the Maritime Anti-Piracy Act and the Arms Act.

"FNB was instructed by the High Court to place a hold on outgoing payments from former President Zuma's FNB accounts. The accounts are not closed as incoming payments are unaffected," the lender told AFP.

The partial account freeze is likely to further taint the reputation of graft-accused Zuma, who has joined an opposition group seeking to cut into the vote share of his old home, the African National Congress (ANC).

Zuma's new party, uMkhonto We Sizwe (MK) or Spear of the Nation, reacted angrily, saying the measure was politically motivated.

"It's clear that the ANC is behind all of this," MK spokesman Nhlamulo Ndhlela told AFP, adding the ruling party was trying "to humiliate" its former boss.

FNB said the court order, issued at the end of February, was the result of legal action taken by the liquidators of another bank, which is owed money by Zuma.

"This instruction from the court results from the process currently being managed by the VBS Bank liquidators, and FNB was legally required to comply. Former President Zuma's recourse now lies with the courts and VBS liquidators," it said.

The dispute relates to a decade-old scandal over the improper use of public funds to refurbish Zuma's massive Nkandla homestead in his home province of KwaZulu-Natal.

In 2016, a top court found that the then-president had acted against the constitution by using millions of dollars of taxpayers' money for "security upgrades", which included a chicken coop, a swimming pool and an amphitheatre.

Ordered to pay back part of the sum, Zuma took out a 7.8-million-rand ($413,000) loan from VBS.

The bank was later placed under curatorship and its liquidators have gone to court to force Zuma to pay back the outstanding part of the loan.

The fourth president of democratic South Africa from 2009 to 2018, Zuma has long been bitter about the way he was forced out of office under the cloud of corruption allegations.

In December, he declared that he would be campaigning for MK, a party named after the ANC's former armed wing during the anti-apartheid struggle.

It was a blow for the ANC, which is struggling in the polls and risks losing its parliamentary majority for the first time since the advent of democracy in 1994 amid accusations of mismanagement and corruption, and high rates of crime, poverty and unemployment.

PM Modi’s state visit to Bhutan postponed due to adverse weather at Paro airport

Pritam Singh, the Leader of Opposition in Singapore was charged with perjury before a parliamentary committee on Tuesday (March 19).

Singh, who is of Indian descent and serves as the Secretary-General of the Workers’ Party (WP), stands accused of providing false testimony during hearings by the Committee of Privileges concerning former Member of Parliament Raeesah Khan.

Appearing in court without legal representation, the 47-year-old opposition figure pleaded not guilty to two charges under Section 31(q) of the Parliament (Privileges, Immunities, and Powers) Act, opting for a trial.

If convicted, he faces a possible imprisonment term of up to three years or a fine of up to SGD 7,000 per charge.

He is further accused of providing false testimony on December 10 and December 15, 2021, claiming that during a conversation with Khan on October 3, 2021, he encouraged her to confess to lying in Parliament.

Khan's case emerged in 2021 when she admitted to fabricating information in Parliament regarding a mishandled rape case involving the police.

After a series of hearings, the Committee of Privileges recommended that Singh be referred to the public prosecutor for potential criminal proceedings due to his conduct during the hearings.

Singh contested the committee's findings, criticising what he perceived as political bias in the report.

During a parliamentary debate on the committee's final report, Singh asserted that he never instructed Khan to conceal the truth and refuted allegations of his involvement in guiding Khan's actions.
