Head of the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command Commander Dominic Murphy said that so far the officers have not received any confirmed sightings of prisoner Daniel Khalife since he escaped from London's Wandsworth prison on Wednesday (September 6). 
 
Explaining the details of the van's route before the police stopped it and in which Khalife was suspected of being strapped underneath after leaving the prison, Murphy stated that more than 50 calls were made to the force from the public which provided “some really valuable lines of inquiry”. 
 
“This was a really busy area of London and we’ve had no confirmed sightings in any of that information, which is a little unusual and perhaps a testament to Daniel Khalife‘s ingenuity in his escape and some of his movements after his escape,” Murphy said while speaking to the reporters.

Commander Dominic Murphy stated that the police staff and more than 150 investigators from the counter-terrorism command have been working on a “fast-paced investigation” to find Daniel Khalife in London, with support from agencies and forces around the country. 
 
He stated that the van, from which the prisoner suspected strapped himself to the bottom, departed from HMP Wandsworth at 7:32 am local time on Wednesday. The officials declared him missing at 7:50 am local time. 
 
The police officials were then notified at 8:15 am local time and the van was stopped on Upper Richmond Drive, close to the junction of Carlton Drive, at 8:37 am local time.

No confirmed sightings of escaped prisoner Daniel Khalife: Police

A one-year-old girl lost her life after she was left inside a van at Omaha day care centre on one of the hottest days of the year. The police said that they arrested the driver in connection with the infant's tragic death.

The police said that medics and officers were called around 3 pm on Monday to Kidz of the Future Childcare in Omaha after an unresponsive baby was found lying inside the sweltering van.&nbsp;

It remained unclear how long the youngster, who was identified as Ra’Miyah Worthington by her family, was locked inside the vehicle, however, her parents suspect it must have been hours.

“I’m not comprehending how this could have even possibly happened,” said the devastated father of baby Ra’Miyah’s, Reeyon Worthington, while speaking to the station WOWT.

The police received the call as temperatures soared into the upper 90s and the officials recorded the heat index hitting a sweltering 110 degrees Fahrenheit, which was part of the heat wave which has been burning the Central US.

The police said that Ra’Miyah baby was rushed to Nebraska Medicine but the doctors failed to save her.&nbsp;

The parents of the girl informed the police station that the body temperature of Ra’Miyah was 109 degrees Fahrenheit at the hospital, and the doctors could not do anything to revive her.&nbsp;

<h2>Police arrest van driver</h2>

Ryan Williams, 62-year-old driver of the van, was arrested by the police on Tuesday and charged with child negligence resulting in death.

Reeyon Worthington and his wife Sina Johnson Worthington stated that for five years they have been taking their children to the Kidz of the Future Childcare Centre. Williams early Monday morning picked Ra’Miyah and two of her siblings in the van and took them to the daycare.

The other two children were taken out from the van, however, the 1-year-old was left behind.

“How do you forget one when you take two off the van,” asked Johnson Worthington, adding, “How did you forget my baby?”

Ra’Miyah was the youngest of six children. Her parents stated that the baby loved to dance and eat, and always wore a smile on her face.

“She loved, loved, loved her family. She loved her daddy. She was daddy’s little girl," the mother said. “Somebody needs to be locked up for this,” Worthington added.

A Reuters witness saw at least two tarp-covered bodies at the site of the incident. Five people remained in critical condition at Sunnybrook Health Services Centre on Monday afternoon, the hospital said.

The CBC aired a video it said was shot by a bystander that showed police arresting a suspect at the scene as he shouted: "Kill me" and pointed an unidentified object at an officer. The video later showed what appeared to be the same man lying on the floor, being handcuffed.

Ryder System Inc spokeswoman Claudia Panfil confirmed that one of the company's rental vehicles had been involved and said the company was cooperating with authorities.

There has been a string of deadly vehicle attacks in the United States and Europe, including an Oct. 31 attack in New York that killed eight. The Islamic State militant group encourages its supporters to use vehicles for attacks.

'IT'S UNPRECEDENTED'

The incident was one of the most violent in recent Canadian history.

A former Canadian university student pleaded guilty last month to killing six men praying in a Quebec City mosque in January 2017.

In September, a Somali refugee was charged with attempted murder over allegations he ran down four pedestrians with a car and stabbed a police officer outside a sports stadium in Edmonton, Alberta.
