Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday lauded Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) as the bravest force in the world at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Directorate General building of CRPF.

"The Director-General of CRPF Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar said that it is a proud occasion for CRPF as the foundation stone of the Directorate General building of the organisation is being laid today. It is also a proud occasion for me. CRPF is not only the world`s biggest armed force, but it is also the bravest armed force in the world," Shah said while addressing the officers and jawans of CRPF.

Praising the valour and selfless service of the jawans of CRPF, Shah said, "If someone goes through the history of CRPF, one will observe many inspirational chapters. Till now 2,184 Jawans of CRPF have sacrificed their lives for the cause of their country."

The Home Minister recounted some of the landmark battles fought by CRPF in the past.

"The Hot Spring battle that CRPF fought on October 21, 1959, is etched in our memories. Only 10 Jawans of the CRPF faced a battalion of Chinese forces with valour and sacrificed their lives. Due to that reason, October 21 is observed as a Memorial day by the entire police force of the country," he said.

"CRPF faced the Pakistani forces in the 1965 war at the Sardar Post in the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat with bravery. CRPF foiled the attack and drove the Pakistani forces away from there," he added.

Shah credited CRPF for tackling internal security challenges with efficiency.

"The 80s and 90s saw insurgency in some parts of the country. The CRPF dealt with this situation with courage. They helped bring peace to Punjab and North-East," he said.&nbsp;

AAP stealing credit of Centre''s developmental projects: Amit Shah

There is no connection between the detention centre and NRC or CAA. The centre has been there for years and is for illegal migrants. Misinformation is being spread on this, said Union Home Minister Amit Shah in an interview on Tuesday.&nbsp;

"Detention of illegal immigrants is a continuous process. Detention centres have nothing to do with NRC. If a foreigner is arrested without documents, he is kept at detention centres and they are deported later," Shah said.&nbsp;

"We have not kept anybody in detention centres. People left out in NRC in Assam are living in their homes. There is only one detention centre in Assam, and it's been there for years. No detention centre has been built under the Prime Minister Modi government," he asserted.

Shah said in an exclusive interview with ANI, Shah indicated that Owaisi would always oppose the steps of BJP-led government.

"I am not surprised by stand taken by Owaisiji. If we say the sun rises from the east, then Owaisi saab would say it rises from the west. But I want to assure Owaisiji too that the NPR is very different from the NRC and it has nothing to do with it," Shah said.

Owaisi has been one of the most vocal critics of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) which was enacted earlier this month.

He is also scheduled to participate in a protest rally in Kishangunj in Bihar under the banner of United Muslim Action Committee (UMAC) against CAA, National Population Register (NPR) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). Shah said there was no link between NPR and NRC.

"The development for the welfare of Adivasi society is the priority of the Central government," Shah said on the occasion, accusing the Congress of pushing the community into darkness.

Shah said the Congress used Adivasis as its vote bank for the last 70 years while lauding the BJP for their development.

"Congress forced Adivasis to remain uneducated and live in darkness. They felled down their jungles to make them homeless," he said.

"The BJP government has provided the community with education, light and home," added Home Minister Shah.

The Home Minister lauded the Adivasi community for preserving the thousand-year-old culture of the country.

Speaking about the fair, Shah said the Aadi Mahotsav was a humble effort to introduce Adivasi culture in the cities of India.

More than 100 Adivasi artisans are taking part in the fair where Adivasi handicraft, arts, festival, martial arts of more than 20 states will be showcased, he said.

Olympian MC Mary Kom and Union Minister Arjun Munda were among the prominent people present on the occasion.

"It is unfortunate that the opposition claimed that the BJP government at the Centre will now scrap Article 371. It is pertinent to clarify this because a few people do not want peace in these states and want to create a divide," he said.

Last month, the central government had scrapped the Article 370 of the Constitution, which conferred special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

The Centre also bifurcated the state into two Union territories - Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The Centre is ready to hold talks with anyone including <a href="http://www.wionews.com/south-asia/pak-pm-imran-khan-vows-to-hold-peace-talks-with-india-173006">Pakistan</a> but terror and dialogue can never go together, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said here Tuesday.

The Home Minister, who reviewed the security situation in the state, told reporters that over the past four to five months there has been a big shift as incidents of stone-pelting have come down and the recruitment of militants has also decreased.

Singh met representatives of various political parties in Srinagar during his day-long visit here and said he has appealed to all of them to participate in the upcoming panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir.

Asked about the controversy over Article 35-A, the Union Minister said the Centre has no proposal to change any constitutional provision regarding Jammu and Kashmir.

He congratulated the state on the successful conduct of urban local bodies elections in a fair and transparent manner and said the holding of ULB and panchayat polls in the state is a historical step.

"Biggest of problems can be faced and issues resolved through democratic means.&nbsp; 
Many problems of Jammu and Kashmir can also be addressed through democracy. I appeal to people of the state to take part in this festival of democracy," he said at a press conference here.

Singh said those who do not believe in democracy can never be well-wishers of people.

The National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party had boycotted the recent urban bodies election in Jammu and Kashmir.

Singh told reporters that as far as talks are concerned, the government has no problem in holding dialogue with anyone.

"But there is a condition from our side. At least, they should see that Pakistan is sponsoring terrorism in India and promoting terrorism also. Give us this much of assurance that there will not be any such attempt by Pakistan. Terror and dialogue both can never go together," he said.

Asked if there was any initiative to hold talks with separatists, Singh said the government will talk to anyone who is willing to enter dialogue, but refused to elaborate.&nbsp;

"Government will not shy away from talks. We have been saying this time and again, anyone who wants to talk, we are ready," he said,

Singh said India has made all efforts on its part but Pakistan did not take any positive step to improve ties.

"Our Prime Minister, breaking all protocols, went there and met Pakistan Prime Minister, met his family members. Why did he meet? Our relations should be neighbourly. But from their side, they did not take any positive step," Singh said. 
In response to a question, the Home Minister said the Centre has no proposal to change any constitutional provision regarding Jammu and Kashmir.

"There is no initiative by the Centre on this (Article 35-A). The provisions in the Constitution are there and the Centre has not tinkered with any of those provisions. It is difficult to answer when a non-issue is made into an issue," he said.

The Home Minister said the Centre and the state government are working together to improve the life of people of the state.

"We want to engage the youth of the state in a constructive way. The state government along with the Centre has taken several initiatives in this regard. Through the Home Ministry alone, we are providing 11,000 jobs by various initiatives which will be implemented in several stages.

"Through various schemes of the central government, steps are afoot to provide employment to nearly 2.5 lakh youths of the state. Our government will provide all assistance needed that will help the youth of the state to chart their own destiny," he said.

On the local bodies elections, Singh said it was for the first time that an attempt has been made to empower the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh through devolution of power.&nbsp;

Every panchayat of the state will get Rs 60 lakh to Rs 70 lakh every year for carrying out development works in their respective areas, he said.

"The aim of empowering these bodies is to make them autonomous so that they can resolve their issues," he said.

On Centre's interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma, the Minister said he will continue in his role till talks are held.

He termed as "very unfortunate" the death of seven civilians in a blast after an encounter had ended in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir and appealed to people not to venture such places where security operations were on.

The minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for next of kin of the deceased.

"If there is an operation by security forces, I appeal the people that they should not try to go there. The security forces do take precautions and we have repeatedly directed them to do it," he said.&nbsp;

Government ready to talk to anyone, including Pakistan: Rajnath Singh in Kashmir

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday attacked Pakistan&nbsp;for its consistent terror&nbsp;attacks on India.

Pakistan will have to give up someday due to international pressure: Rajnath Singh

Some of these organisations are leading academic institutions like IIT Delhi, Delhi University, JNU, ICAR, IGNOU according&nbsp;to a &nbsp;PTI report.

The Supreme Court Bar Association has also been barred by the government.&nbsp;

The Union Home Ministry has cancelled the organisations&#39;&nbsp;registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 2010 (FCRA).

The registrations have been cancelled after the organisations failed to file their annual returns for five consecutive years (2010-11 to 2014-15) even after repeated reminders.&nbsp;

The registered organisations&nbsp;have violated the law according to which they need to submit the details of their income and expenditure to the government.

Organisations are not allowed to receive foreign funds until they are registered with the FCRA.&nbsp;
