For the economic upliftment of Jammu and Kashmir, a 36-member business delegation from UAE is in Kashmir Valley to explore business opportunities. According to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, around 70 thousand crore investment is expected to come in the next six months from foreign investors.&nbsp;

The government has already cleared 27 thousand crores of investment from foreign companies. Earlier this month, several investment deals were signed by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha. The major deals signed were with UAE-based companies including the LuLu Group, Al Maya Group, MATU Investments LLC, GL Employment Brokerage LLC &amp; Noon Group at the Dubai Expo.&nbsp;

''It was important for us to show them Jammu and Kashmir. It will increase the economic activity in the Union Territory. This will not only bring money but also employment. Around 75 per cent of jobs will be reserved for the locals. We are starting from Srinagar district. And slowly will go to other districts as well '' said Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce.&nbsp;

UAE delegation visits Kashmir valley to explore business opportunities

United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar here on Monday and agreed to maintain "high-level exchanges" between the two countries.

"EAM S Jaishankar welcomes UAE Foreign Minister HH AB Zayed ahead of the delegation-level talks. In recent years, our age-old relationship has been nurtured to take it to a higher trajectory on the foundation of frequent high-level exchanges," the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson wrote on Twitter.

The visiting UAE Foreign Minister arrived here on a three-day bilateral visit to the country on Sunday evening.

On Tuesday, the UAE Foreign Minister is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and participate in a business roundtable interaction with CEOs of Indian companies.

The visit is aimed at providing the two sides with an opportunity to explore new areas of cooperation to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

The UAE is India's third-largest trade partner and fourth largest energy supplier. It is also the first country to participate in India's 'Strategic Petroleum Reserves'&nbsp;programme.

Modi had visited the UAE in August 2015 during which the two countries decided to elevate their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Prime Minister had also paid a visit to the Gulf nation again in February last year.&nbsp;

"The bilateral trade was $52 billion last year, the UAE is the second largest export partner after the US," he pointed out.

"I cannot think of one major Middle East country that does not have an office in Dubai," he said, adding," with 3.3 million Indians, it has the largest concentration of Indians outside India."
