People gathered on Friday in the Valley of the Kings to&nbsp;commemorate the discovery's 100th anniversary&nbsp;by visiting the 3,000-year-old tomb of the boy king and touring Carter’s house which has recently been restored and reopened to the public to mark the occasion.

Carter's House's dates back to 1911 when the Egyptologist built it as a residence for himself when he was conducting his search at the Valley of the Kings. He resided at the place until his death in 1939. The house's central hall, study and his photographic laboratory have been maintained till now.&nbsp;The items at his place were maintained for the next 100 years.

King Tutankhamen (Tutankhamun), the young pharaoh whose ancient tomb and opulent artifacts have fascinated generations since they were first discovered, become the most famous Ancient Egyptian pharaoh in the world, thanks to the incredible condition of his final resting place and the grave goods found alongside his body.

For many, "King Tut" is the ultimate symbol of ancient Egypt's glory.

Tutankhamun ascended the throne at age nine, and ruled till his death at age 18 or 19.

As per the American ambassador to Egypt, an important part of the two nations' strategic alliance is America's support for Egypt's cultural preservation and protection.&nbsp;

Tutankhamun, the king of ancient Egypt who probably flourished in the 14th century BCE, is known majorly for his intact tomb that was discovered in the Valley of the Kings in 1922.&nbsp;

Apart from other precious items, an iron dagger was also found in the tomb by archaeologist Howard Carter. The tomb itself was a puzzle for historians, who still study the various aspect of it.&nbsp;

In 1925, Carter found two daggers in the wrapping of the mummy - one on the right thigh with a blade of iron and the other on the abdomen with a blade of gold.&nbsp;

Among all the iron objects discovered in Tutankhamun's tomb, the dagger is the one that has most attracted interest from historians and archaeologists.&nbsp;

The mystery around the dagger's origin has intrigued experts for years because of the speculations over the origin of the metal and the employed working technology.&nbsp;

Now, it is believed that it came from space. As per the latest analysis, the composition and homogeneity of the blade closely correlate with that of a meteorite.&nbsp;

The scientists believe that the material of the dagger, which is currently displayed at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, is determined to have originated by way of a meteoritic landing.&nbsp;

The findings were published by the researchers at the Chiba Institute of Technology in the journal of <a href="https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/maps.12664">Meteoritics and Planetary Science</a>.&nbsp;

Daniela Comelli, the study's main author, wrote: "Meteoritic iron is clearly indicated by the presence of a high percentage of nickel."

As per the findings, the high levels of cobalt also "strongly suggests an extraterrestrial origin".&nbsp;

"They were aware that these rare chunks of iron fell from the sky already in the 13th [Century] BCE, anticipating Western culture by more than two millennia," a part of the report read.&nbsp;

Archaeologists have discovered what is being believed to be the largest ancient city found in Egypt since the unearthing of Tutankhamun’s tomb.

A famous Egyptologist Zahi Hawass discovered a “lost golden city” near Luxor, which is hailed to be the Valley of the Kings.

"The Egyptian mission under Dr Zahi Hawass found the city that was lost under the sand," the archaeologists said. "The city is 3,000 years old, dates to the reign of Amenhotep III, and continued to be used by Tutankhamun and Ay."

Known as Aten, it is being called the largest find of an ancient city in Egypt and is being hailed as the second most important “archaeological discovery since the tomb of Tutankhamun”.

Experts also unearthed pieces of jewellery and coloured pottery vessels, scarab beetle amulets. Mud bricks bearing the seals of Amenhotep III were also found.

However, the city had been hard to locate as a former antiquities minister revealed that “Many foreign missions searched for this city and never found it”.

The excavations began in September 2020 in Cairo between the temples of Ramses III and Amenhotep III near Luxor.

“Within weeks, to the team’s great surprise, formations of mud bricks began to appear in all directions,” the statement read. “What they unearthed was the site of a large city in a good condition of preservation, with almost complete walls, and with rooms filled with tools of daily life.”

The experts were also able to unearth several neighbourhoods, including a bakery fitted with ovens and storage, administrative and residential districts.

“The archaeological layers have laid untouched for thousands of years, left by the ancient residents as if it were yesterday,” the experts said.

Christie's auction house sold the 28.5-centimetre&nbsp;relic for $5,970,000 to an unknown buyer in early July at one of its most controversial auctions in years.

But less than a week after the sale, Egypt's National Committee for Antiquities Repatriation (NCAR) said after an urgent meeting that national prosecutors had asked Interpol "to issue a circular to trace" such artifacts over alleged missing paperwork.

"The committee expresses its deep discontent of the unprofessional behavior of the sale of Egyptian antiquities without providing the ownership documents and the evidence that proves its legal export from Egypt," the NCAR said in a statement.

The committee headed by Minister of Antiquities Khaled El-Enany and attended by his predecessor Zahi Hawass as well as officials from various ministries also called upon Britain to "prohibit the export of the sold artifacts" until the Egyptian authorities were shown the documents.

It suggested the issue could have an impact on cultural relations, by referencing "the ongoing cooperation between both countries in the field of archaeology, especially that there are 18 British archaeological missions are working in Egypt".

The NCAR added it had hired a British law firm to file a "civil lawsuit" although no further details were given.&nbsp;

'Stolen from Karnak'&nbsp;

The London sale of the head of "Boy King" Tutankhamun angered Egyptian officials at the time and sparked a protest outside Christie's by about a dozen people who held up signs reading "stop trading in smuggled antiquities".

Hawass told AFP that the piece appeared to have been "stolen" in the 1970s from the Karnak Temple complex just north of Luxor and the Egyptian foreign ministry asked the UK Foreign Office and the UN cultural body UNESCO to step in and halt the sale.

But such interventions are rare and made only when there is clear evidence of the item's legitimate acquisition by the seller being in dispute.

Christie's argued that Egypt had never before expressed the same level of concern about an item whose existence has been "well known and exhibited publicly" for many years.
