Biden also confirmed that he will visit Kentucky on Wednesday (December 15) to survey the damage. It has been conveyed by the White House that Biden would travel to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, for a storm briefing, and Mayfield and Dawson Springs, Kentucky.&nbsp;

When the initial damages were reported, Biden had asked EPA to find whether climate crisis has played a role in the devastating tornadoes.&nbsp;

"The specific impact on these specific storms, I can't say at this point. I'm going to be asking the EPA and others to take a look at that," Biden said in a briefing.&nbsp;

He added, "But the fact is that we know everything is more intense when the climate is warming. And obviously, it has some impact here."

During the nature-caused havoc, a hotel was devastatingly damaged and the roof of a church also blew off.

The Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) also reported locals having suffered minor as well as serious injuries after getting trapped under rubbles.

A family also got trapped after a house collapsed on them. Their condition is not known at this time, reported Jim Coker, Director of EMA.

Jefferson County EMA has urged locals to stay out of the Fultondale area.

While no deaths have been reported yet, the local authorities have said many people have suffered serious injuries, Search and rescue operations are still underway.

For now, five fire department heavy rescue teams are scanning the areas of Fultondale and Center Point and searching for all trapped locals, Coker said.

The EMA is also using drone and helicopters to track the trapped locals along the route of the deadly tornado.

The northern Chinese province of Hebei issued an extreme heat 'red alert' on Thursday, with temperatures set to soar beyond 40 Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) in its major cities and putting the area's corn crop at risk, the local government said.

The government of Hebei said on its official website that the cities of Baoding, Shijiazhuang, Hengshui, Cangzhou, Xingtai and Handan were all expected to see temperatures above 40C on Thursday.

The local weather bureau also warned that the extreme heat and drought in the province were likely to affect its corn crop. Hebei, which surrounds the capital Beijing, is among China's biggest producers of the grain.

Rainfall in the province has declined 23.9% compared to the average in the second quarter of 2019, the local Hebei Daily reported.

Cities in Hebei have been deploying sprinklers mounted on trucks to try to keep temperatures down, putting further pressure on water supplies.

A heat wave that has swept across northern China, including the capital Beijing, is expected to last until next week, the Hebei Daily said, citing the local weather bureau.
