A new survey on deteriorating mental health of LGBTQ+ youth has revealed that over 50 per cent of transgender and non-binary individuals in the United States seriously considered suicide in the past 12 months. The survey was conducted on a state level&nbsp;and the data was released on Thursday which revealed that states like Texas, Arkansas, New York and California showed high rates of suicide.&nbsp;

The survey led by the American nonprofit organisation Trevor Project showed over 34,000 queer and trans youth between 13 and 24 years of age showed an alarming rate of suicide attempts, depression and anxiety, The Guardian reported.&nbsp;

According to the survey, 44 per cent of LGBTQ+ considered suicide and 14 per cent attempted it. Among the trans and non-binary people, 54 per cent considered suicide and 19 per cent made an attempt.&nbsp;

It also showed that 70 per cent of the LGBTQ+ youth faced discrimination, with 62 per cent saying that they were not able to access mental health care.&nbsp;

The highest rate of trans and nonbinary youth seriously considering&nbsp;to attempt suicide&nbsp;were 56 per cent in Texas, 54 per cent in Florida, 54 per cent in Pennsylvania, 51 per cent in Illinois, and 54 per cent in Ohio.&nbsp;

Additionally, these states reported 16-20 per cent of trans and non-binary youth attempting suicide.&nbsp;

The data was released to highlight the increasing restrictions on the rights of queer and trans people.&nbsp;

The Washington Post in 2022 stated that 150 anti-trans bills were submitted to state legislatures, the most ever.&nbsp;

The founder of the Transformation Project, Susan Williams said that she was not surprised by the alarming number of statistics.&nbsp;

She added that her 16-year-old son who is trans has removed all his social media apps from his phone and avoids news.&nbsp;

AIADMK&nbsp;MP&nbsp;Navaneethakrishnan who threatened to commit suicide over delay in formation&nbsp;Cauvery Management Board&nbsp;(CMB) became a subject of jeer for a supporter of sidelined&nbsp;AIADMK&nbsp;leader&nbsp;TTV Dhinakaran, who offered him poison and a noose, on Saturday.

"Navaneethakrishnan&nbsp;announced in Parliament that he will commit suicide but he did not do it, now I offer him this poison and rope to hang himself with, as he failed to do what he said," Dhinakaran supporter Pugalendhi said at a press conference while displaying a poison and a noose.

"Now, as a strong leader like Amma (J Jayalalithaa) is no more, neighbouring Karnataka is happy, therefore I urge all&nbsp;Tamil Nadu&nbsp;MPs to resign from the Parliament," news agency ANI reported as Pugalendhi as saying.

On February 16, the apex court asked the Centre to form the&nbsp;CMB&nbsp;to implement a formula for sharing of Cauvery water between&nbsp;Tamil Nadu&nbsp;and Karnataka. In the ruling, the top court reduced&nbsp;Tamil Nadu's share in the Cauvery water to 177.25 thousand million cubic feet
