The public opposition has also intensified over the alleged ties between the ruling Liberal Democratic Party’s (LDP) MPs and the controversial South Korean-based Unification Church known for mass weddings, aggressive fundraising practices, and problematic recruiting.&nbsp;

In light of the scandal, Kishida addressed last week the public acknowledging that the Unification Church controversy has caused the public confidence in politics to dwindle, and said that he would demand that his party members sever ties with the organization. Meanwhile, members of his cabinet have reportedly agreed to review and cut ties with the organization. Kishida also issued an apology following media reports which exposed the extensive ties between the LDP and the church, saying, “As president of the LDP, I honestly express my apology.”&nbsp;

A recent poll by a Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun indicated that at least 56% of the respondents opposed the state funeral, while 38% were in support. Additionally, last month at least four protests were held against the service, one of which was outside the parliament, which according to local media saw the participation of approximately 4,000 people. On the other hand, this month civic groups also presented online petitions, signed by 280,000 people, calling for the memorial service to be canceled, according to NHK.

Shane Warne's family has accepted state funeral for Australian cricketing legend, Victoria state premier Daniel Andrews announced on Sunday.

Warne widely consider as 'King of Spin', passed away on Friday at the age of 52 after a suspected heart attack in Thailand.

In the tweet, Australian MP Daniel Andrews said this will be a great opportunity for Victorians to pay tribute to the legendry cricketer.

"I've spoken with the Warne family again today and they have accepted my offer of a State Funeral to remember Shane."

"It will be an opportunity for Victorians to pay tribute to his contribution to his sport, to our state and the country. Details will be finalised in coming days," Daniel Andrews wrote on his official Twitter account.

Earlier on Saturday, Daniel Andrews took to Twitter to inform that the Great Southern Stand at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will be renamed the S.K. Warne Stand.

Tributes have since flooded in for revolutionary spinner across the world as the unfortunate demise of the sport`s one of the most charismatic figures shocked the world.

Warne finished his international career with 708 Test wickets and a further 293 in One-Day Internationals, placing him second in the list of all-time international wicket-takers behind his great friend and rival Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka (1,347).

<a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/bjp-led-alliance-hasnt-reached-a-consensus-on-goa-chief-minister-post-203949">Goa chief minister</a> Manohar Parrikar, <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/manohar-parrikar-former-defence-minister-and-4-time-goa-cm-dead-at-63-203951">who died after a long illness</a>, would be accorded state funeral with full military honours on Monday, according to the home ministry.

Parrikar, 63, who had also been the defence minister, died on Sunday at his private residence in Dona Paula near the state capital after battling a pancreatic ailment since February last year.

MHA Joint Secretary SK Shahi, in an order issued on Sunday, said the Ministry of Defence is requested to make arrangements for state funeral with full military honours.

"It has been decided by the government that state funeral will be accorded to the departed dignitary," Shahi has said in the circular.

The final rites of Parrikar will be performed at 5 pm on Monday at the Miramar beach here, next to the memorial of Goa's first chief minister Dayanand Bandodkar, who was also cremated there, a state BJP spokesperson said.

After Parrikar's demise on Sunday evening, the body was kept at his residence for the night.

"His mortal remains would be brought to the BJP office in the morning where they will be kept for an hour before being taking to the Kala Academy to allow people to pay their last respects before his final journey," the spokesperson said.

The central government has announced national mourning on Monday, officials earlier said. The national flag will fly at half-mast across the country.&nbsp;
