India's Central Bureau Of Investigation has shared a key update on the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The Bollywood actor was found dead at his Mumbai residence on 14 June 2020. The initial investigation alleged that he had died by suicide but his family suspected foul play and an investigation was taken over by the CBI. 
 
A source close to the case told Hindustan Times that CBI has been able to finalise the case as it is waiting for a response from the US over the past deleted chats and emails of the actor. A CBI official told the newspaper that the investigative agency has reached out to Google and Facebook in the US to share details of Rajput's deleted chats, emails and posts to get a better understanding of the case.&nbsp; 
 
“We are still waiting for a response from the US on this technical evidence, which may help us take the case to a logical conclusion. The case is pending finalisation (because of this)," the official said.&nbsp; 
 
According to a mutual legal assistance treaty (MLAT) between India and US, both sides can gain access to information in any domestic investigation.&nbsp; 
 
Senior Advocate Vikas Singh, who is a representative of the actor’s family, said that he wasn’t aware of the request made to US authorities but added, “CBI is trying to give a slow death (to the case).”&nbsp;

Recently, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis also shared an update on Sushant Singh Rajput’s case and said, “At first, the information available was based on hearsay. However, some individuals asserted that they possessed substantial evidence regarding the case. In response, we reached out to them and requested that they submit the evidence to the police.” 
 
He added, “Currently, we are in the process of examining the credibility of the presented evidence. The investigation is still in progress, and it would be premature for me to provide any comments on the eventual outcome of the case at this stage.”

Sushant Singh Rajput died on June 14, 2020. Mumbai Police, who were earlier investigating the case, didn’t find any foul play and later the case was handed over to CBI.&nbsp;

Two years since Indian actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence, the case and controversy around it refuses to die down. Now an employee of Cooper Hospital in Mumbai has claimed that the actor was murdered in June 2020, and did not die by suicide.

After he was found dead, the Bollywood actor's body was taken to Mumbai's Cooper Hospital for post-mortem.&nbsp; 
 
While speaking to the news agency ANI, Roopkumar Shah, a mortuary servant, at Cooper Hospital (Mumbai), claimed there were several marks on the actor's body and neck.

Shah recalled that he was on duty on 14 June 2020 and a VIP body had been received at the hospital. 
 
"When we went to perform a post-mortem, we learnt he was Sushant. His turn came at around 11 PM at night. As the examination began, there were discussions happening within the staff that it was a case of suicide. I felt it looked different. I have an experience of 28 years and can somewhat understand looking at a body whether it is a suicide case or not. When I saw Sushant Singh Rajput's body it didn't appear to be a case of suicide. Injury&nbsp;marks were there on his body. I went to my senior but he said we will discuss it later," Shah told the news agency.&nbsp;

While the Mumbai police claimed it was a case of suicide, Rajput's family accused the actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty of abetment to suicide.

The NCB eventually arrested Rhea on charges of possession of drugs and providing them to Rajput.
