<p>A man was detained after he threw bangles at textiles minister Smriti Irani while she was addressing a function in Gujarat&#39;s Amreli district.</p>

<p>The minister blamed the Congress for the incident, saying,&quot;they sent a man to attack a woman, the Congress strategy is wrong in this respect.&quot;</p>

<p>&quot;Elections are due in Gujarat so I expect this kind of incident to take place,&quot; she added.</p>

<p>This is not the first time the minister has been embroiled in a controversy, two years ago Irani had alleged she was being illegally filmed in the changing room at a Fab India store in Goa.</p>

<p>The revelation led to the arrest of four people and caused a huge uproar on social media.</p>
