Saurav Ghosal and Dipika Pallikal settled for silver medal in the mixed doubles squash event of the 21st Commonwealth Games on Sunday by defeating home favourites Donna Urquhart and Cameron Pilley 0-2 (8-11 10-11).

The duo became the first Indian pair to win a medal in the squash event. Pallikal will again fight for the gold medal alongside Joshna Chinappa in women's double as they won in straight games 2-0 (11-10, 11-5) to seal their place in the final.

After winning the silver Pallikal questioned the referees and told PTI, "Shocking decisions were made during the final. I felt it could have changed whole scenario of the match if those decisions were fair. But that's sport."

The crowd was expectedly supporting the locals and Pallikal feels the quality of refereeing too did not help their cause.

Five-time World Champion Sarah Fitz-Gerald, who was commentating on the final, felt the refereeing was fine but the officials should have used more technology.

"I can understand Dipika is upset but refereeing was not a major issue for me. The issue was not using the technology enough to check whether the ball double-bounced or hit the tin, basically to correct close calls.

"It was used in the singles but they did not use it much for the doubles. I would say referees had to be hard in their approach otherwise it would have led to umpteen let points making the sport uninteresting," Sarah said.

Power paralifter Sachin Chaudhary on Tuesday won bronze to take India's overall medal tally to 21 at 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.

He claimed the medal in men's heavyweight final at the Carrara Sports Arena 1.

It is also the first medal from the country's para-athletic contingent.&nbsp;

On a day where three other Indian para-powerlifters reached finals, Chaudhary went the distance in his 10-man final and finished with a combined effort of 181 points.&nbsp;

Nigeria's Abdulazeez Ibrahim won gold and silver went to Malaysia's Yee Khie Jong.

Last year, Chaudhary won a silver medal at the Powerlifting World Cup in Dubai with a career-best lift of 200.&nbsp;

He also represented India at the 2012 Summer Paralymics where he finished ninth in the men's -82.50kg event.

On day six of the competition, Anjum shot brilliantly to finish behind China&#39;s Ruijiao Pei 455.4 to 454.2 after the 45-shot final. China&#39;s Ting Sun claimed bronze, finishing with a score of 442.2.

In the Men&#39;s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol, it was heartbreak for 15-year old Anish Bhanwala, who stood third after the first precision round with a solid 294 and a real chance to make it amongst the top six finalists.

Beginning with a solid 99 and following up with a 97, scores of 7, 9, 10, 8, 8 in the final series of five shots pulled him down to seventh place.

Anish ended with 578, the same score as sixth place qualifier Zhaonan Hao of China, but with one 10 lesser than the Chinese.

Neeraj Kumar, the second Indian in the fray, also had a similar last series to finish with 569 and on 13th place.

Three finals are slated for Saturday- the Men`s 3P, the Women&#39;s 25m Pistol and Women&#39;s Skeet- while the World Cup concludes on Sunday with the Men&#39;s Skeet final.

Spot gold rose 0.3 per cent to $1,275.36 per ounce at 0758 GMT.

Gold dipped in the early Asian hours but interest out of China provided some support later, analysts said.
