<p>A 40-year-old US Air Force sergeant, Charles Bass III, was arrested after he pointed his gun at a 19-year-old Shi’Anna Bamba on December 5 during a confrontation about the woman allegedly changing&nbsp;lanes while driving side by side.</p>

<p>The chilling confrontation was captured on camera. The footage showed Bass pointing a handgun at Bamba and shouting, "Do you want to f***ing die!" This disturbing incident took place in Surprise, Arizona.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The altercation began when Bamba, having dropped off her sibling at a local school, allegedly cut off Bass while driving, a claim the woman denies.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The tension escalated as they drove side by side, eventually stopping at a red light. It was at this point that Bamba, feeling threatened, took out her phone and started recording the intense ordeal.</p>

<p>In the video, Bass can be heard menacingly shouting at Bamba. Bass can also be seen in the footage brandishing a handgun straight in her direction.</p>

<p>The shaken woman recounted that Bass pointed the gun at her once more before driving away, the New York Post reported.</p>

<p>Reflecting on the incident, Bamba expressed the fear she felt in a conversation with ABC media outlet. She said, “I called my mom right there after realising that I could have died right there.”</p>

<p>Disputing the official account documented in court records, Bamba insisted, “I didn’t make (the lane switch). I didn’t even attempt to switch lanes yet.”</p>

<p>In response to the terrifying encounter, she promptly contacted the Surprise Police Department, sharing the recorded video with patrol officers.</p>

<p>Following the incident, Bamba's father identified Bass' truck in the vicinity and reported the license plate to the police.</p>

<p>Acting on this information, a team comprising the US Marshals Task Force, US Air Force, and Surprise PD apprehended Bass on December 12.</p>

<p>Bass, a 21-year Air Force veteran, attributed his actions to "PTSD and hypervigilance issues."</p>

<p>In his explanation to investigators after surrendering, he claimed to have seen Bamba’s rolled-down driver window and cited unawareness of her actions as a reason for drawing his gun.</p>

<p>Bass could not explain why he pulled out his gun a second time.</p>

<p>A former sergeant from the US Army was arrested on Friday (Oct 6) for attempting to provide classified information to China, said US Justice Department.</p>

<p>Joseph Daniel Schmidt (29) has been charged with retaining secret national defense information and trying to give it to China. Schmidt served in an army intelligence unit from 2015 to 2020.</p>

<p>After leaving the military, Schmidt offered the secret information to Chinese consulate in Turkey and the Chinese security services.</p>

<p>Schmidt had access to secret and top secret information while serving in the 109 Military Intelligence Battalion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state. In March 2020, he went to Hong Kong. The Justice Department has reportedly said that in Hong Kong, Schmidt "continued his efforts to provide Chinese intelligence with classified information."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"He allegedly retained a device that allows for access to secure military computer networks and offered the device to Chinese authorities to assist them in efforts to gain access to such networks," the department said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Schmidt was living in Hong Kong and returned to the US on Friday (Oct 6). He was arrested as he landed in San Francisco.</p>

<p>"Members of our military take a sworn oath to defend our country and the Constitution," acting US attorney Tessa Gorman said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"In that context the alleged actions of this former military member are shocking –- not only attempting to provide national defense information, but also information that would assist a foreign adversary to gain access to Department of Defense secure computer networks."&nbsp;</p>

<p>If found guilty of charges levelled against him, Schmidt could face up to 20 years in prison.</p>

<p>Schmidt has been arrested just two months after the arrest of two members of the US Navy who were suspected of spying for China.</p>

<p>Jinchao Wei, serving on USS Essex in San Diego, allegedly gave away dozens of photos, documents and videos that detail &nbsp;operation of ships and the system that are aborad it.</p>

<p>Petty Officer Wenheng Zhao, served at a naval base near LA and is accused of spying for China for almost two years.</p>

<p>The Police Sergeant who extended his support to the people’s struggle at Maharagama Town on Saturday has been arrested on charges of possessing a sharp weapon while entering the President’s House in Colombo, early this morning. The suspect, who was wearing a pair of sandals and wearing a police uniform, came to enter the President's House and was stopped and searched by the security forces on duty for suspicious behaviour. A sharp weapon was recovered from the possession of the sergeant and was handed over to the Fort Police. The sergeant, attached to the Narahenpita Police Garage, is a resident of Homagama, as reported by Daily Mirror.</p>
