As per a new report, since leaving the White House in January, Trump has billed more than $40,000 for a room for his own security detail, show records obtained by the Washington Post.

The secret Service has been guarding the former president at his famous Mar-a-Lago resort, where he shifted in January after losing the US election 2020 to Joe Biden.

As per the records, the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach has been charging $396.15 every night since Janaury 20, which has totalled up to reach nearly $40,011.15 by April 30. &nbsp;

While the charges could still be passed as a standard rate of stay, what surprised the experts was the fact that these charges were for a single room which was being used as a workstation for the Secret Service at the Mar-a-lago resort.

The records have also revealed that the Secret Service has spent more money on stays in the Mar-a-Lago resort this year in comparison to what it had to pay in 2018 and 2019.

While it is common for former presidents to receive life-long protection, it is unheard of any of the former leaders billing the Secret Service such a high amount.

This is not the first time a bump has been found in the relations between the Trump family and the Secret Service.

Belloni, who has already been the first woman to hold key foreign ministry posts, will now lead Italy's Security Intelligence Department (DIS), reporting directly to the cabinet, said the statement.

The DIS's brief includes handling intelligence and security matters at home and abroad as well as counter-espionage and cybersecurity.

Belloni came to public prominence when she led the foreign ministry's crisis unit between 2004 and 2008, taking responsibility for operations involving Italians injured or killed abroad, whether in attacks or natural disasters.

She was the first woman to hold that position.

The unit also handled kidnappings, and one high-profile case she oversaw was the freeing of La Repubblica correspondent Daniele Mastrogiacomo who was abducted in Afghanistan.

She also coordinated the search for Italian survivors of the December 2004 tsunami in Thailand.

In her book, Leonnig claims that Secret Service agents have reported that Vanessa Trump, then-wife of Donald Trump Jr — former president’s oldest son — had "started dating one of the agents who had been assigned to her family". However, the concerned agent did not face any disciplinary action as he or the agency were not the official guardians of Vanessa Trump.

Leonnig also reports that the Secret Service leaders "became concerned at how close Tiffany appeared to be getting to the tall, dark and handsome agent".

However, like the first case, the second agent in question was also not officially questioned and neither Tiffany nor the agent admitted to any such happening. The two further justified their alone time as ‘nature of the agent’s job’ claiming the agent is supposed to spend alone time with his charge. The agent, however, was later reassigned.

Another accusation made in the book is against Donald Trump himself. While it is not clear if the former president was aware of the alleged relationships between his family members and Secret Service agent, he did make sure no ‘short’ or ‘fat’ agents were assigned to protect his family.
