<p>US House Representative (Texas) Jasmine Crockett defended her say that Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene’s comments toward her during a House committee meeting were racist.</p>

<p>Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” on Sunday (May 19), Crockett explained her comments in response to Greene’s remark.</p>

<p>During a committee hearing on Thursday (May 16), Marjorie Taylor Greene said, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Replying to Greene’s comment, Crockett said, “MAGA has historically been on social media doing the things where they’re saying, ‘Oh, she’s Black with lashes and nails and hair, and so she’s ghetto.’”</p>

<p>“It is buying into a racist trope," she further said.</p>

<p>Crockett clarified that women from all backgrounds use false eyelashes, but the problem arose from Greene's personal attack on her appearance.</p>

<p>Despite being elected to Congress, Crockett emphasised that shouldn't mean enduring disrespect.</p>

<p>It may be mentioned here, the House Oversight Committee panel had gathered to discuss contempt proceedings against Attorney General Merrick Garland, a target of House Republicans, but it quickly erupted into chaos when members began attacking each other over their physical appearance and intelligence.</p>

<p>At one point during the hearing, Greene blasted her Democratic colleagues, asking “if any of the Democrats on this committee are employing Judge [Juan] Merchant’s daughter,” in reference to the judge overseeing the hush money trial against former President Donald Trump.</p>

<p>While Crockett&nbsp;contended that Speaker Mike Johnson, should be inclined to rein her in, especially after she conspired to oust him.</p>

<p>Crockett also highlighted that President Biden is hemorrhaging support from black voters.</p>

<p>“I think it’s about whether or not people understand what he has done for them. It’s tough to kind of connect the dots sometimes,” she said.</p>

<p>“They have done so much, but I don’t think that the information has been pushed out continually,” she added.</p>

<p>Real Madrid have filed a complaint against a referee after he omitted alleged racist abuse hurled towards Vinicius Junior, from his La Liga match report involving&nbsp;Osasuna over the weekend.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The referee voluntarily and deliberately omitted the insults and vexatious shouts directed repeatedly towards our player Vinicius Jr, despite these being insistently pointed out by our players at the very moment when they were taking place," Madrid said in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Real Madrid once again condemns these violent attacks of racism, discrimination and hatred, and demands that the necessary measures be taken, once and for all, to eradicate the violence that our player Vinicius Junior has been suffering."</p>

<p>The allegation&nbsp;by Real Madrid against the referee comes a few days after La Liga claimed it was filing a complaint with the prosecutor's office over the deplorable chants made against the Brazilian.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to LaLiga, chants of&nbsp;"Vinícius chimpanzee" were heard before Atletico Madrid's UEFA Champions League match against Inter Milan at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The abuses were hurled against Vini Jr. when he wasn't even involved in the match.</p>

<p>The couple purchased their house for $550,000 in 2016 in San Francisco suburb of Marin City. When interest rates hit historic low in 2020, the couple decided to refinance their mortgage. In 2020, the appraiser valued the home at $995,000.</p>

<p>The couple then tried an experiment, a white friend of theirs posed as the home-owner and approached another appraising firm.&nbsp;The house was then valued at $1.5 million.</p>

<p>The duo then sued the initial appraisal company under Fair Housing Act, the federal law which prohibits discrimination when it comes to homebuying in the US.</p>

<p>In order to carry out the experiment, the couple 'white-washed' their home. This is a term used when an African-American couple removes all signs of a house having been previously inhabited by people of their race.</p>

<p>"You feel a sense of relief like, 'I told you.' Then you just feel a sense of sadness," said Tate-Austin as she commented on the valuation experiment in 2021. She was quoted by the CBS News.</p>

<p>"We had to do what we had to do in order to have our house appraised for what it should have appraised for from the start."</p>

<p>"I mean, it's the financial impact, but it's the emotional impact. It's the feeling every day like, the tax of being African-American in this country, like you don't know, it's a coin toss."</p>

Racism is Spanish Football's problem, not Vinicius, and it must be solved, says Carlo Ancelotti

<p>A white teacher from the Bohls Middle School in Pflugerville, Texas, was fired from the school after a video of him telling his students that he is ethnocentric deep within and thinks his race is superior was posted online and went viral. The teacher can be seen in the viral video saying, "I think my race is the superior one".&nbsp;The video was recorded by a student in which the entire conversation between the students&nbsp;and the teacher&nbsp;can be heard. The incident happened last Thursday. Later,&nbsp;the teacher got fired from the school.</p>

<p>The video was recorded by a 13-year-old student, Karmello Lullen, who said after the incident, "I respected him, but I don't have respect for him anymore."&nbsp;Lullen shared the video on his Instagram account, writing, "crazy this happened at my school to me and my friends."</p>

<p>Reacting to the entire incident, Lullen's mother said, "I don’t want him teaching any other students, I feel like he’s going to be racially profiling them, and that affects their education."</p>

<p>The teacher was later fired from the school by the Pflugerville Independent School District Superintendent. Superintendent Douglas Killian said in a statement that the teacher,&nbsp;whose name has not been made public, is no longer employed by the district school.</p>
