India is set to become the third biggest economy in the world, and that is why India will have to stay alert as far as its economic interests are concerned,” the PM said.</p><p>While PM Modi did not mention Trump by name, his comments were seen as an oblique response to the US president’s assertion that India’s economy had “tanked” and that it relies heavily on American markets.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Modi highlighted India’s economic resilience and called on citizens and the business community to support indigenous production in a renewed commitment to the ‘vocal for local’ movement. “We will buy only those things that are made by Indians. We need to become vocal for local,” he urged the crowd and called for a nationwide resolve to buy and promote ‘swadeshi’ products.</p><p>“Those who want the best for the country and want to see India as the third biggest economy in the world, be it any political party, should leave their differences aside and instil a resolution for ‘swadeshi’ products,” he added.</p>

<h2>‘Government is doing everything it can’</h2><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Modi further said that ensuring the welfare of farmers, small-scale industries, and employment generation is the highest priority for the government.</p><p>“Our farmers, our small-scale industries, the employment for youth—their interest is our top priority. The government is doing everything it can in the best interest of the country. <h2><strong>Modi releases 20th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi</strong></h2><p>On Saturday, the PM also released the 20th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, transferring an amount of more than Rs 20,500 crores into the bank accounts of 9.7 crore farmers. As per ANI, with this release, the total disbursement achieved under the scheme has risen to over ₹3.90 lakh crore. He also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects worth around Rs 2,200 crore in Varanasi.</p><p>He inaugurated the widening and strengthening of the Varanasi-Bhadohi and Chhitauni-Shool Tankeshwar roads, along with a key railway overbridge at Hardattpur to ease traffic on the Mohan Sarai–Adalpura route. Foundation stones were also laid for a slew of other road upgrades across both rural and urban stretches—Dalmandi, Lahartara-Kotwa, Gangapur, Babatpur, among others—as well as new railway overbridges at Level Crossing 22C and Khalispur Yard.</p><p>In the energy sector, the Prime Minister launched projects worth over ₹880 crore to upgrade power infrastructure, including smart distribution and underground cabling works. Tourism and cultural heritage also saw a major push as Modi inaugurated the redevelopment of eight riverfront ghats, beautification of Rangildas Kutiya pond and ghat in Shivpur, and water purification work at Durgakund. He also laid the foundation stone for restoration at Kardameshwar Mahadev Temple and the development of Karkhiyaon—birthplace of several freedom fighters.</p>

<p>Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (December 23) said that to rejuvenate the mother earth and to secure the future of the coming generations, we must once again turn to natural farming.&nbsp;</p>

<p>PM Modi was speaking during a political rally in one of the most popular cities in India's northern state Uttar Pradesh - Varanasi, from where he appealed to farmers to adopt natural farming and also called for strengthening the dairy sector.</p>

<p>"This method will make farming 'atmanirbhar' [self-dependent]. Those working in startups should also explore possibilities for this," said PM Modi, who was in Varanasi to inaugurate a dairy&nbsp;named Banas Dairy Kashi Sankul at Karkhiyaon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Indian Prime Minister also said that milk committees and collection centres would be set up and certification of purity would also be done.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier, the Prime Minister launched a portal and a logo dedicated to the Conformity Assessment Scheme of milk products, developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) with the help of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The unified logo, featuring both the BIS logo and the NDDB quality mark, will simplify the certification process for the dairy sector and reassure the public about dairy product quality.&nbsp;</p>
