The US Department of State released a statement on Friday (Nov 1) saying the US is providing the "significant package of urgently needed weapons" to Ukraine that includes Stinger missiles, air-to-ground munitions, and additional munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) along with others.&nbsp;

"The Department of Defense (DoD) announced additional security assistance to meet Ukraine's critical security and defence needs. This announcement is the Biden Administration's sixty-ninth tranche of equipment to be provided from DoD inventories for Ukraine since August 2021," the official statement said.&nbsp;

It further added, "This Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) package, which has an estimated value of $425 million, will provide Ukraine additional capabilities to meet its most urgent needs, including air defence interceptors; munitions for rocket systems and artillery; armoured vehicles; and anti-tank weapons."&nbsp;

The announcement of the aid came after the state secretary Antony Blinken said that as many as 10,000 North Korean troops were transferred to Russia, including 8,000 positioned in the Kursk region.&nbsp;

"We now assess that there are some 10,000 North Korean soldiers in total in Russia. Recent information indicates that as many as 8,000 of those North Korean forces have been deployed in the Kursk region. We have not yet seen these troops deployed in the combat against Ukrainian forces but we expect that to happen in the coming days," Blinken said.

He further revealed&nbsp;Russia has been training the North Korean troops to use them in the frontline operations.&nbsp;

While giving a&nbsp;message to China's President Xi Jinping,&nbsp;North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said their relationship is vital in the face of hostile foreign forces, while Jinping promised to bring cooperation 'to a new stage', KCNA said.

The treaty is defending socialism and peace in Asia 'now that the hostile forces become more desperate in their challenge and obstructive moves," Kim said.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Sunday he will meet this week in New York with North Korea's number two, Kim Yong Chol, to resume denuclearization talks.

Announcing the meeting on Fox News Sunday, Pompeo said it would be "a good opportunity to continue the denuclearization discussions" underway since US President Donald Trump's historic summit in June with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.&nbsp;

"I will be meeting this week in New York City with my counterpart, Kim Yong Chol," he said on Fox News Sunday.

Pompeo's announcement follows a North Korean foreign ministry statement that the North will "seriously" consider reviving its nuclear weapons program unless US sanctions are lifted.

But Pompeo dismissed the warning, saying, "I'm not worried about that."

"We are very focused. We know with whom we are negotiating, we know what their positions (are) and President Trump has made his position very clear," Pompeo said.

He added there would be "no economic relief until we have achieved our ultimate objective."

At their summit in Singapore in June, Trump and Kim signed a vaguely worded statement on denuclearization.

But little progress has been made since then, with Washington pushing to maintain sanctions against the North until its "final, fully verified denuclearization," and Pyongyang condemning US demands as "gangster-like."

"The improvement of relations and sanctions are incompatible," said the statement, released under the name of the director of the foreign ministry's Institute for American Studies.&nbsp;

"What remains to be done is the US corresponding reply," it added.
