<p>Han, 53, was born in 1970 in the South Korean city of Gwangju before moving to capital city of Seoul at the age of nine with her family.&nbsp;She comes from a literary background, her father being a reputed novelist. Alongside her writing, she has also devoted herself to art and music, which is reflected throughout her entire literary production.</p>

<p>She&nbsp;began her career in 1993 with the publication of a number of poems in the magazine <em>'Literature and Society'</em>. Her&nbsp;prose debut came in 1995 with the short story collection <em>‘Love of Yeosu'.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p>Han's 2007 novel The Vegetarian, was translated into English in 2015 and won the International Booker prize in 2016.</p>

<p>Five Arab Israeli citizens linked to the banned terror outfit IS have been arrested for allegedly plotting a car bombing, according to the Israeli police and Shin Bet security service.&nbsp;The five residents hailed from Taybeh in central Israel and had formed a terror cell affiliated with the IS.</p>

<p>The attack was to take place at the Azrieli Mall in the capital city of Tel Aviv. The five accused had studied terror attacks in Syria and discussed the amount of explosives needed to bring down the mall.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to authorities, the five terror operatives were arrested after a month-long secret investigation and will face charges in the coming days.</p>

<p>The chiefs of the terror cell have been identified as&nbsp;Mahmoud Azam and Ibrahim Sheik Yousef. They recruited three others — Sajed Masarwa, Abdullah Baransi and Abdel Kareem Baransi.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, Azam and Yousef were in contact with foreign IS agents and planned to travel abroad to meet with IS operatives. However, their plan was uncovered with the&nbsp;help of “precise and effective intelligence operations,” and was stopped in its preliminary stages.</p>

<p>It is unclear if the five operatives had any connection to Hamas, a militant outfit operating in the Gaza Strip and currently at war with Israel.&nbsp;</p>

However, following the election of President Javier Milei in late 2023, Argentina formally withdrew its interest in joining BRICS.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The foreign minister confirmed that letters were sent to five original members of the grouping, India, China, South Africa, Russia and Brazil confirming her government's decision not to be a member of the grouping which has grown in influence in the past few years.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A&nbsp;Turkish&nbsp;Airlines&nbsp;pilot died after collapsing mid-flight, forcing the&nbsp;Turkish&nbsp;national carrier to make an emergency landing in New York, the airline said on Wednesday.</p>

<p>Proteins are described as life's building blocks, consisting of 20 different amino acids. Since 2003, Baker, a professor at the University of Washington, and his research group have succeeded in producing one&nbsp;imaginative protein creation after another, including proteins that can be used as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, nanomaterials and tiny sensors.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Hassabis and Jumper made a stunning breakthrough in the field four years ago when they presented an&nbsp;AI model called AlphaFold2, using which the scientists have been able to&nbsp;predict the structure of virtually all the 200 million proteins that researchers have identified.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hinton&nbsp;laid the foundations for machine learning that is powering many of today's AI-based products and applications. However, he grew wary of AI's future development and cut ties with his&nbsp;former employer Google in order to speak more freely on the issue.</p>

<p>“It will be comparable with the industrial revolution. But instead of exceeding people in physical strength, it’s going to exceed people in intellectual ability. We have no experience of what it’s like to have things smarter than us,” Hinton was quoted as saying by <em>CNN.</em></p>

Haryana Assembly election: Election Commission slams Congress for alleging delay in vote counting

<p>As many as 50 senior faculty members of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in the Indian city of Kolkata&nbsp;have tendered resignations, on Tuesday (Oct 8) in support of the protesting junior doctors.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Six protesting doctors&nbsp;have gone on an indefinite hunger strike as the&nbsp;West Bengal government refuses to accept their demands in the aftermath of the brutal rape and murder of a junior trainee doctor at the hospital in August.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“We, the undersigned doctors of R G Kar Medical College and Hospital, have been striving to provide optimal hospital services. However, the current conditions have made it increasingly challenging to deliver the quality of patient care that is essential,” the letter stated.</p>

<p>The doctors have demanded better working conditions in the aftermath of the incident, adding that the health of their colleagues was "deteriorating tremendously fast".&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>“We request the government to come into reconciliation with the protesting doctors and the ones who are sitting on indefinite hunger strike immediately. We senior doctors of R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital are giving mass resignation (sic)," it added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the RG Kar doctors, their colleagues from other hospitals were also mulling mass resignations.&nbsp;</p>

IDF prepares to strike Lebanon coast, warns citizens to stay away from sea

<p>"Talking about Patole ji and the Sanade family’s personal experiences with caste and discrimination, we discussed the lack of awareness about Dalit cuisine and the importance of documentation of this culture," Gandhi posted on X.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The constitution gives participation and rights to the Bahujans, and we will protect that constitution. But true inclusion and equality of all in the society will be possible only when every Indian makes efforts with the feeling of brotherhood in his heart," he added.&nbsp;</p>
