<p>A samosa seller’s inspiring story of cracking NEET UG, one of the toughest exams in India, is winning hearts over the internet.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Physics Wallah’s Alakh Pandey shared the extraordinary story of 18-year-old samosa seller, Sunny Kumar from Noida on Instagram, who cracked NEET UG to get admission in undergraduate medical programs.</p>

<p>At just 18, Kumar managed his studies with his small shop in Noida. He used to study after finishing school at 2:00 pm and also work at his samosa stall. After coming home from&nbsp;the stall he&nbsp;used to continue his studies till late in the night.</p>

<p>Physics Wallah, an educational tech company, shared two videos of Kumar from its official Instagram page. One video shows the room of the student Sunny Kumar and also captures Pandey’s surprised reaction to seeing how the walls in Kumar’s room are filled with notes. The other visual captures him praising Kumar for his achievement.</p>

<p>Kumar cleared the NEET 2024 exam with an impressive 664 marks out of 720 with just one year of preparation while working on his samosa stall for 4-5 hours, as per Physics Wallah.</p>

<p>"Bhaut baar sari raat padai karta tha phir subah aankhein dard karti thi" (At times, I studied all night, which used to cause pain in my eyes in the morning),” Kumar recollected.</p>

<p>While sharing about how he decided to pursue a medical profession, Kumar said his curiosity for medicines and how people get treated attracted him towards this exam and field of profession.</p>

<p>He further said, “Selling samosas won’t define my future.”</p>

'Selling samosas won’t define my future': Noida samosa seller cracks NEET UG at the age of 18

<p>The Supreme Court of India on Friday (Aug 2) said there was no systemic breach in the conduct of the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test - Undergraduate 2024 (NEET-UG 2024) examination. A three-judge bench, headed by&nbsp;Chief Justice DY Chandrachud was providing detailed reasons for its July 23 order when it refused to cancel the exams held on May 5.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The court said the paper leak was limited to Patna, Hazaribagh and that there was no material to show it was widespread and affected the sanctity of the exam.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>The court highlighted that a re-examination will lead to serious consequences affecting over 2.3 million students as it will&nbsp;lead to disruption of the academic schedule, causing a domino effect in the coming years.</p>

<p>The court, however, gave a rap to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and suggested it to avoid "flip-flops" it made during the conduct of the exam.</p>

<p>"Such flip-flops in a national exam do not serve the interests of the students," said the court adding that the expert committee must rectify the deficiencies in the exam system.</p>

<p>The court's reasoning comes a day after Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed its first chargesheet in the case against 13 accused persons for the leak in Bihar's Patna.&nbsp;The agency has invoked Sections 120B, 201, 409, 380, 411, 420, and 109 of the erstwhile Indian Penal Code (IPC) and substantive offences against them.<br />

"Such flip-flops in a national exam do not serve the interests of the students," said the court adding that the expert committee must rectify the deficiencies in the exam system. India's Supreme Court rules out re-exam for NEET-UG 2024 after no systemic breach found

<p>In an affidavit submitted to the Indian Supreme Court on Wednesday (July 10), the central government stated that there was no "mass malpractice" in the 2024 NEET-UG examination.</p>

<p>The Centre&nbsp;claims that an analysis of the data&nbsp;carried out by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras shows no proof of widespread misconduct or any kind of unfair advantage for a certain set of candidates, which may lead to unusual scores.</p>

<p>Counselling will begin in four rounds in the third week of July, the government&nbsp;said. It added that any applicant who is discovered to have benefitted from malpractice will have their candidacy terminated at any time during or after the counselling process.</p>

<p>"The marks distribution follows the bell-shaped curve that is witnessed in any large-scale examination indicating no abnormality," the IIT Madras report said.</p>

<p>"City-wise and center-wise analysis was done for 2 years (2023 and 2024) to find out if there are any abnormal indications. The Analysis is carried out for the Top 1.4 lakh ranks given that the total number of seats across the country is around 1.1 lakhs," it added.</p>

<p>"The analysis shows that there is neither any indication of mass malpractice nor a localised set of candidates being benefitted leading to abnormal scores," the report said.</p>

<p>"There is an overall increase in the marks obtained by students, specifically in the range of 550 to 720. This increase is seen across the cities and centres. This is attributed to a 25% reduction in syllabus.
