Whether it&rsquo;s parents who want to know about the whereabouts of their children, or would be couple checking on prospective partners, the trend is on the rise in India.

&ldquo;We are mostly hired by parents who want to keep an eye on their children, or by spouses who have trust issue with their partner,&rdquo; said Rahul Roy, who runs a private detective agency in Mumbai.

&ldquo;Parents think their children are in love with someone. Then there are cases of extra-marital affairs where our help is sought,&rdquo; Roy added.

These private eyes start spying on the people from their homes.

&ldquo;We follow them, click their photographs and send those pictures to their families,&rdquo; said Durgesh Kamalkant Pandey, a detective.

Out of more than 15,000 cases of spying in a year, 500 are reported during Navratris. The detectives use spy cameras to broadcast live footage of a person to his/her family members who want to check if that person is really at a Garba event.

This may seem straight out of a reality show Emotional Atyachar, where people who doubt their partner&rsquo;s loyalty participate in a secretive experiment with the television show&rsquo;s crew, the detective agencies are welcoming the booming business during this period.

Some of them are booked for an entire month.

These agents are also contacted by employers who wants to check on their employees, to know what they are doing during holidays. Then there are parents who fear that their children don&rsquo;t attend classes or are in bad company, or those who just want to know about the whereabouts of someone.

&ldquo;I have come to this detective agency because I want to check where my boyfriend goes during Navratri celebrations. Who he meets, what he does&hellip; it&rsquo;s not that I don&rsquo;t trust him,&rdquo; said a woman who visited Roy&rsquo;s agency.

This trend is specially picking up among those who are about to get married. They want to know more about their future partner - who he/she hangs out with, where they spend most of their time, just to be sure. And this, they think, gives them mental peace and satisfaction that they know all about their partner.

Beware, a detective might be spying on you during Navratri

It is a known fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi neither takes a break on weekends nor break his fasts even when travelling abroad. He not only keeps a packed schedule which to many can be described as punishing but also doesn&rsquo;t eat anything except juice and warm water through the fast.

This weekend is one such example which comes in midst of Chaitra Navratra, a nine day of fasting which holds spiritual importance for the Prime Minister. Despite the fast, Narendra Modi has decided to stick to a tight schedule. Instead of food, his menu would constitute of infrastructure, justice, diplomacy, technology and spirituality.

On Saturday, the Prime Minister will be host to the visiting Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Razak, for bilateral talks at Delhi&rsquo;s Hyderabad House. PMO sources confirmed to WION that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would start his day with a ceremonial reception at 9 am and would accompany his Malaysian counterpart till late evening. The official banquet is expected to start after 6:30 pm which could continue till 8 pm. But his day will not come to an end with the banquet.

He will rest for half an hour after the banquet and then proceed to address India&rsquo;s sharpest &ldquo;tech&rdquo; minds, who are taking part in the final round of the Smart India Hackathon. The Hackathon&nbsp;will take place over two days from Saturday 8 am until Sunday 8 pm. It will focus on social issues and problems identified by 29 Ministries and Departments of the Union Government. Roughly 10,000 participants have qualified for the final round.

The Prime Minister after the banquet would address the participants at 10 pm on Saturday night which is expected to last for 30 minutes and would be followed by an interaction with participants across multiple locations. The hackathon is scheduled for a 36-hour period from 8 am on Saturday, to 8 pm on Sunday.

On Sunday, 2nd April, Prime Minister will fly early morning to Allahabad to attend the closing celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Allahabad High Court. Once the&nbsp;function is over the Prime Minister without taking a break would fly to Udhampur where he will drive through the India&rsquo;s longest tunnel. He will dedicate Chenani-Nashri tunnel to the nation, which will significantly improve connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar. After the drive through Prime Minister will address a public rally in Udhampur where he could touch upon developments taking place in Kashmir. Once the function is over, he would fly back to Delhi. Monday would be a routine 12-hour work day for the Prime Minister.

Militant Hindu organisations the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad are sprinkling cow urine on people&nbsp;attending an annual dance festival, ostensibly to keep Muslims at bay, in India&#39;s western state of Gujarat.

The cow (and its byproducts) are considered sacred by many of India&#39;s Hindus.&nbsp;

The Hindu organisations&nbsp;have been screening visitors -- in, it must be said, unhygienic fashion -- at&nbsp;&quot;garba&quot;&nbsp;dance venues during Navratri, a festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu goddess Durga, The Times of India reported.&nbsp;

The report added that local police have not done much to dissuade the Hindu organisations.

The Times of India report said, &quot;The police appears reluctant to act against the miscreants who have been making brazen statements and can be easily identified from photographs published in local newspapers. While police&nbsp;have been asked to increase vigil around &#39;garba&#39; venues during evening hours, this hasn&#39;t deterred the emboldened saffron outfits.&quot;

Devduttsinh Raol,&nbsp;an IT professional based in Gujarat&#39;s capital city of Gandhinagar, had approached the police,&nbsp;asking that the&nbsp;screening procedure be put an end to. But the police seemed hesitant to crack down on the Hindu groups.&nbsp;

Raol had to ask a senior officer for help&nbsp;before police finally took cognisance of the matter.&nbsp;
