&quot;All love marriages should not be termed as &#39;love-jihad&#39;,&quot; observed the Kerala High Court on Thursday while hearing a petition with regard to an inter-religious marriage of Kannur-native Sruthi and Anees Hammed.

The court further said that these kinds of marriages should be encouraged as there is no boundary for love.

The court allowed Sruthi to go with her husband while ruling the marriage as &#39;valid&#39;.

It was alleged that Sruthi was abducted by Anees Hameed, who forcefully converted her to Islam and married her under religious customs.

On October 10 while hearing Hadiya&#39;s case, the High Court gave the same verdict that &#39;all inter-religious marriages cannot be termed love jihad&#39;.

Earlier on October 7, the Kerala Government told the Supreme Court that an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was not needed in the case as the state police was efficient enough to carry out the inquiry.

In an affidavit, the state government informed the apex court that the state police is competent enough to investigate such crimes.&nbsp;

The court further said that these kinds of marriages should be encouraged as there is no boundary for love.

NIA conducts raids in 12 locations across J&K to track terror funding

Three suspected Al-Qaeda operatives were arrested on Monday by India&rsquo;s National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Madurai in India&rsquo;s southern state of Tamil Nadu.

The three were allegedly planning to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with 22 top leaders of India, police said.

Those arrested were identified as M Khareem, Asif Sultan Mohammed and Abbas Ali, PTI reported.

While Khareem was arrested from Usmannagar, Asif Sultan Mohammed was picked up from GR Nagar and Abbas Ali from Ismailpuram, police said.

Police said NIA raided several places on specific information that suspected Al-Qaeda activists were operating from South Tamil Nadu in and around Madurai. &ldquo;Explosive materials and arms have been seized from them,&rdquo; police said.

NIA is searching for two other suspected Al-Qaeda operatives, Hakeem and Dawood Sulaiman.

Security agencies posted in border states, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Border Security Force (BSF), have been told to keep a watchful eye on the activities of suspected racketeers smuggling fake Indian currency into the country.

These racketeers are said to be using Bangladesh and Pakistan as their bases.

Senior security officials told DNA that, so far, reports coming in from areas along the Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangladesh borders, following the demonetization measures, were &quot;positive&quot;.

However, they add that there were intelligence inputs about the possible counterfeiting of the newly introduced Rs 2,000 note (roughly $30).

The manufacturing of fake currency is mostly based in Pakistan. The Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) network there has taken a hit following the demonetization announcement, and intelligence agencies believe individuals might attempt to counterfeit currency locally. However, they believe that this will not succeed.

&quot;The machines used to make the fake currency are highly sophisticated and can be owned only by sovereign governments as was found in our probes (between 2010 to 2016). The ones in India, if any left, are of sub-standard quality,&quot; said an NIA official. So, only a small fraction of fake currencies are manufactured in India.

While officials contend that it is too soon for syndicates in Pakistan and Bangladesh to try to replicate the Rs 2,000 note, one instance of an individual possessing a fake note has already been reported.

Officials say that an individual was detained on Thursday in the Bhikhiwind area of Tarn Taran district in the Majha region of Punjab for allegedly possessing a fake note. The fake note with serial number 4CA 102501 and similar looking note, both of Rs 2,000 denomination, was confiscated and the man has been taken into questioning.

&quot;Even though there are no reports of any mass production of fake currency in India we are not taking any information on fake notes lightly,&quot; a senior BSF official said. The official added that while the time being is considered as a &quot;lull period&quot; for the smuggling of FICN, the situation might change when the new denomination hits the markets freely.

Demonetisation: Indian security agencies told to scuttle smuggling of fake notes

A court in India&rsquo;s eastern state of Bengal granted 14 days of custody to the National Investigation Agency till October 27.&nbsp;

The investigating agency will be questioning and examining them to find out if they played any role in the attack at Dhaka&rsquo;s high security zone, Gulshan. The agency will also explore their links with the Islamic State, if any.

The six include JMB&rsquo;s Bengal unit chief, Inam alias Anwar Hussain, Maulana Yusuf, chief motivator of JMB across Madrasas in Bengal. Sahidul Islam, chief of the JMB in the North-eastern region.&nbsp;&nbsp;Md. Rubel alias Rafique is a resident of Jamalpur, Bangladesh and an expert in IEDs. Md. Abul Kalam was also an expert in IEDs and used to assist another operative, Sahidul. Jabirul Islam alias Jahidul Islam is a Bangladeshi national, who had entered India without any valid passport or visa.

The six JMB operatives were arrested by Kolkata Police from different parts of eastern India. Of all the six, three are Bangladeshi nationals and three are Indian nationals of Bangladesh origin. The arrested were running sleeper cells and their modules were active in eastern and north-eastern India and were plotting a terror attack in the eastern region of India.

Sources in the investigating agency highlight that these operatives were controlled and handled by JMB&#39;s Majlish-e-Shura, think-tank, in charge of India, Salahuddin. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

All the accused were wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the October 2, 2014, Burdwan blast case and most of them had a cash bounty on them.

Maulana Yusuf had a Rs.10 lac bounty on him by the NIA and Md. Rubel alias Rafique had a Rs.1 lac bounty on him. Md. Abul Kalam had a 3 lac bounty on him.

India's investigation agency takes custody of six Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen operatives

Two persons suspected of being sympathisers of Islamic State (IS) &ndash; the banned terror organisation, turned approvers in the supplementary chargesheet filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a Delhi court on Wednesday. 
 
The NIA claimed that ISIS operatives, in connivance with a few resident and non-resident Indians, have been indulging in identification, radicalisation, recruitment and training of Indians. The counter-terror agency listed 18 accused in the chargesheet, of which 16 were charged and two turned approvers. 
 
The NIA has charged Mumbai resident, Muddabir Shaik, for leading the Indian module and also charged Mohammad Aleem, Mohammad Obaidullah Khan, Nafees Khan, Mohammad Shareef Moinuddin Khan, Asif Ali, Najmul Huda, Mohammad Abdul Ahad, Suhail Ahmed, Syed Mujahid, Mohammad Hussain Khan, Mohammad Afzal, Imran, Abu Anas, Mohammad Azhar Khan and Mufti Abdus Sami Qasmi. 
 
The accused were apprehended from various places across the country, including Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. 
 
Twice apprehended by the authorities, Mohammed Abdul Ahad, turned approver in the case, along with teenager Ashik Ahmed from West Bengal. Both were granted conditional pardon by the special NIA court at Patiala House on Wednesday. 
 
Ahad, 48, is a green card holder and along with his wife and his children is a citizen of the United States of America. A resident of Bangalore, Ahad had a Master&#39;s degree in Computer Science from a Californian University through a correspondence course. Having worked in the US for more than 10 years, Ahad had finally secured a coveted green card. 
 
According to the NIA, Ahad&#39;s first brush with radical Islam was in 2014 and in December that year, he along with his family had gone to Turkey on a tourist visa in order to attempt entering Syria. The Turkish authorities detained him while he was trying to enter Syria through a border post. After 23 days in custody, he was deported from Turkey in January 2015 at the behest of the Indian government. Barely months after his return, Ahad initiated contact with ISIS sympathisers and was inducted in the &quot;Junood-ul-Khilafa-Fil-Hind,&quot; (JKFH) &ndash; an organisation that was created to establish Khilafat (Caliphate) in India. He was arrested by the NIA in January earlier this year. 
 
Approver number 2, Ashik Ahmed,19, based out of Hooghly district, West Bengal, was influenced by Islamic theology and developments in the contemporary world with regard to the Islamic religious movement. Ahmed was instrumental in helping the Indian wing of IS to establish a base in West Bengal and in helping them get in touch with a Bangladeshi arms supplier. 
 
In its chargesheet, the NIA has alleged that Shafi Armar, aka Yusuf al-Hindi, the media chief of IS helped in the establishment of JKFH that was to become a base for the IS in the India. 
 
The charges against the 15 other accused state their complicity in routing money through hawala to further violence and commit acts of terror. The counter-terror agency has backed its charges with scientific evidence; call data records (CDR), literature, explosive devices and other incriminating materials. 
 
The NIA have further alleged that the IS operatives in India had approached Naxals to understand their modus operandi in committing terror acts. The operatives were also planning to buy weapons from the Naxalites. 
 
The NIA had registered a case against IS in December 2015. 
 
In this case, the NIA had earlier filed a chargesheet against 23-year-old Naser Packeer, outlining his modus operandi in identifying, radicalising, recruiting and sending Indians to join the terrorists in Syria and Iraq. 
 
The NIA has charged the 16 accused, including Armar, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Unlawful (Activities) Prevention Act, and the Explosive Substances Act.

India's premier terror investigation body charges 16 for being IS operatives, two turn approvers

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today arrested two key members of the Hyderabad IS module which they had unearthed last month in India. 
 
&quot;Yasir Niamatullah, chief of Hyderabad module, and Athaullah Rehman, a motivator who raised funds, have been arrested by NIA from here,&quot; sources in Telangana Intelligence Department told PTI. 
 
&quot;They are being produced in court today,&quot; they said. 
 
The NIA on June 29 had arrested five Hyderabad-based persons on charges of their involvement in the terror module suspected to be linked to ISIS and conspiring to carry out bomb attacks. 
 
On July 1, they were remanded in police custody for 12 days. 
 
The five - Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani alias Ibbu, Habeeb Mohammed alias Sir, Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani, Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi and Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan - were arrested following a series of searches conducted at 10 locations in Old City area in southern Hyderabad city, with the assistance of Hyderabad Police. 
 
In its remand report submitted to the court earlier, the agency had said that the five accused had acquired weapons and explosive material to carry out violent terrorist attacks and were in touch with ISIS. 
 
Following its prior investigation, on June 22 the NIA had lodged an FIR for &quot;criminal conspiracy to wage war against the Government of India&quot; by collecting weapons and explosive materials by targeting public places, religious sites and sensitive government buildings in various parts of India. 
 
According to the agency, the gang was preparing improvised explosive devices for carrying out blasts, and was being guided by an online handler, suspected to be based in Iraq/Syria. 
 
Along with the explosive materials, the NIA had recovered two semi-automatic pistols with ammunition, an air gun with telescopic sight and shooting practice target boards, a large number of digital gadgets including six laptops, about 40 mobile phones, 32 SIM cards, and a large number of hard disks, memory cards, pen drives and tabs during its search.

Along with the explosive materials, the NIA had recovered two semi-automatic pistols with ammunition, an air gun with telescopic sight and shooting practice target boards, a large number of digital gadgets including six laptops, about 40 mobile phones, 32 SIM cards, and a large number of hard disks, memory cards, pen drives and tabs during its search.
