<p>A former Playboy model has now come on record and allegedly claimed that she had a 10-month affair with US President Donald Trump, reports said on Friday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>By going public, Karen McDougal disregarded legal risks relating to a $150,000 deal she had signed before the November 2016 election that in effect bought her silence.</p>

<p>The former Playboy model, Karen McDougal also claimed that Trump offered her money after they first got intimate.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In an interview to CNN, US-based model McDougal said &quot;After we had been intimate, he tried to pay me, and I actually didn&#39;t know how to take that&quot; post her first alleged sexual encounter with Trump.</p>

<p>The model spoke about her decade-old alleged affair with Trump - which began just three months after the birth of his and Melania&rsquo;s son Barron - and the impact of the same on her personal life.</p>

<p>The ex-Playmate said their first sexual encounter was at the billionaire&rsquo;s bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2006.&nbsp;She thought they were meeting for dinner in the tony hotel restaurant but instead, Trump&#39;s bodyguard ushered her into the reality star&#39;s usual bungalow.</p>

<p>She continued going on several dates after their first encounter and also met Melania at the Playboy Mansion at a party the airing of Celebrity Apprentice, reports said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Further, McDougal expressed her remorse and apologised to Trump&#39;s wife Melania Trump.</p>

<p>&quot;What can you say except I&#39;m sorry!. I&#39;m sorry. I wouldn&#39;t want it done to me.&quot; McDougal said.</p>

<p>She further claimed to decline the money offered by Trump saying &quot;That&#39;s not me. I&#39;m not that kind of girl&quot;.</p>

<p>However, the White House said that Trump has denied the alleged affair.</p>

<p>McDougal responded to that by saying &quot;I guess I understand because he&#39;s trying to protect his family, his image, things like that. But it was definitely a little like, &#39;Wow, you&#39;re going to lie about that?&quot;</p>

<p>McDougal delved into the lawsuit filed in a California court earlier this week, asking to be released from a contract she signed with American Media Inc. for her life rights.</p>

<p>She said AMI and its owner, David Pecker, in particular, framed the deal as a means to &quot;jump-start&quot; her career and protect her image as &quot;wholesome and pure.&quot;</p>

<p>But things didn&#39;t pan out the way she had anticipated. The company and Pecker, who is a longtime friend of Trump&#39;s, failed to hold up their end of the bargain, according to McDougal. And now she wants out of the contract.</p>

<p>Just 24 years old, Los Angeles-based model Lauren Wasser used a tampon when she was on&nbsp;her periods on October 3, 2012.</p>

<p>Attending a party with friends, she had no access to tampons and went to the store to buy one. After she used the tampon, she immediately felt sick and lay down thinking it was flu. The next thing Wasser remembered was waking up to a police officer at her front door.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a recently penned down article for a US-based women&#39;s fashion magazine, Wasser writes:</p>

<p><em>&quot;I remember coming to and hearing the sound of my cocker spaniel, Madison, barking out of control.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p><em>She was trying to get me up because someone was knocking on my front door. </em></p>

<p><em>After that, I only know what I&#39;ve been told. </em></p>

<p><em>The police agreed to check on me again and this time found me face down on the floor. </em></p>

<p><em>I was unresponsive, had a fever of 108, and was covered in my own faeces and vomit. They immediately called the paramedics and rushed me to the hospital.&quot;&nbsp;</em></p>

<p>Upon investigation by an infectious disease specialist, it was found that the tampon Wasser wore was infected. The reports came back with signs of&nbsp;TSS-1 (Toxic Shock Syndrome).</p>

<p>What followed was horrific as Wasser was put into a&nbsp;medically induced coma as her organs began to shut down. After a week, she weighed 200 pounds &ndash; with all fluids she had been given in order to stabilise her blood pressure. She remembers her feet feeling like they were on fire.She developed gangrene in her right leg which progressed quickly.&nbsp;The heel on her left foot was severely damaged as were all five of her toes. Surgeons recommended amputating both legs at the same time, but she opted to only remove her right leg and to fight and save the left.</p>

<p>Toxic Shock Syndrome is very rare and there have been only 377 cases in the US reported in 2015.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Currently, Wasser has dedicated herself to bringing awareness to TSS.&nbsp;</p>

Chrissy Teigan opens up about postpartum depression

<p>Mukhtaran Mai was gangraped&nbsp;and was paraded naked by a group of men in her village in Pakistan&#39;s Punjab&nbsp;in 2002.</p>

<p>This, on the orders of her tribe&rsquo;s elders, was a punishment for her brother&rsquo;s sins. Fourteen years later, in 2016, Mukhtaran walked the ramp as a showstopper for Pakistani designer Rozina Munib at Pakistan Fashion Week.</p>

<p>The country&rsquo;s annual fashion show saw Mukhtaran making her fashion debut in a show titled &lsquo;Zindagi Ke Rang&rsquo; meaning Colours of Life.</p>

<p>Her message after the show was: &ldquo;I want to be the voice of those women who face circumstances similar to what I did. My message for my sisters is that we aren&#39;t weak. We have a heart and a brain, we also think.&rdquo;</p>

<p>A symbol of courage and inspiring women around the world, the 44-year-old never lost hope throughout the ordeal. Speaking with The Associated Press on the occasion, Mukhtaran said, &ldquo;If one step I take, if that helps even one woman, I would be very happy to do that. I ask my sisters to not lose hope in the face of injustice, as we will get justice one day for sure.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Adopting the role of an advocate for women&rsquo;s rights, she founded a charity for helpless women in the country. The charity currently runs a women&rsquo;s shelter for those, who like her, are survivors of violence and abuse. The home helps them to sustain themselves and become self-dependent by learning new skills. Mukhtaran has also opened a school that offers free education for girls in her rural hometown of Meerwala.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pakistan ranks as low as 121 out of 155 countries in the UNDP&rsquo;s 2014 Gender Inequality Index. The index is a measure of women&rsquo;s empowerment, reproductive health and economic activity.&nbsp;</p>

Mukhtaran Mai has been working for women's rights in Pakistan for more than a decade

Mukhtaran Mai was gangraped and was paraded naked by a group of men in her village in Pakistan's Punjab in 2002. This, on the orders of her tribe’s elders, was a punishment for her brother’s sins. Fourteen years later, in 2016, Mukhtaran walked the ramp as a showstopper for Pakistani designer Rozina Munib at Pakistan Fashion Week. The country’s annual fashion show saw Mukhtaran making her fashion debut in a show titled ‘Zindagi Ke Rang’ meaning Colours of Life. Her message after the show was: “I want to be the voice of those women who face circumstances similar to what I did. My message for my sisters is that we aren't weak. We have a heart and a brain, we also think.” A symbol of courage and inspiring women around the world, the 44-year-old never lost hope throughout the ordeal. Speaking with The Associated Press on the occasion, Mukhtaran said, “If one step I take, if that helps even one woman, I would be very happy to do that. I ask my sisters to not lose hope in the face of injustice, as we will get justice one day for sure.” Adopting the role of an advocate for women’s rights, she founded a charity for helpless women in the country. The charity currently runs a women’s shelter for those, who like her, are survivors of violence and abuse. The home helps them to sustain themselves and become self-dependent by learning new skills. Mukhtaran has also opened a school that offers free education for girls in her rural hometown of Meerwala. Pakistan ranks as low as 121 out of 155 countries in the UNDP’s 2014 Gender Inequality Index.
