<p>Bevan, one of Australia&rsquo;s greatest white-ball players, scored 6912 runs at 53.58 from 232 ODIs while routinely steering his side to victory in many chases.</p>
<p>The batter&rsquo;s last-ball four, to secure a one-wicket win at the SCG on New Year&rsquo;s Day in 1996, ranks highly among the sport&rsquo;s most iconic moments. He was a master in creating moments and memories that are etched in the minds of die-hard cricket fans. During his decorated career, Bevan was a part of Australia's 1999 and 2003 World Cup wins.</p>
<p>But, until last month, the Hall of Fame&rsquo;s rules penalised him for a relatively modest Test career that spanned 18 matches.</p>

<p>His induction into Australia's Hall of Fame follows this season's previous inductees, <a href="https://www.wionews.com/tags/michael-clarke">Michael Clarke</a> and Christina Matthews.</p>

<p>The T20 World Cup 2022 edition is just a few days away. The eighth edition of the mega event will be held in Australia and will kick off with the qualifying round. Four teams, from the qualifiers, will then join the top eight sides in the Super 12 round (in two groups of six each).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Before the commencement of the showpiece event, former cricketers and experts of the game are picking their favourites for the coveted title. Rohit Sharma-led India, who are the No. 1 ranked side in the format, Australia, South Africa, Pakistan and England are some serious contenders whereas other teams can also not be taken lightly as the margin of error is very small in the shorest format.</p>

<p>Ahead of the T20 WC, Aussie great Michael Bevan picked his favourites. "I reckon I would have to say India, England and Australia. I think that the pick of the teams at the moment are probably India and England. But Australia have some amazing players, some super talented players and, when it clicks for them, it clicks and they are plenty good enough to take off (win) consecutive World Cups," Bevan told<i>&nbsp;SkySports.</i></p>

<p>The news of former Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds' tragic demise left the entire cricket fraternity in shock. Symonds passed away aged 46 on Saturday (May 14) following an unfortunate car crash in Queensland, Australia. One of the greatest all-rounders to have played the game, Symonds was part of Australia's two World Cup-winning squads.</p>

<p>The car crash took place in Hervy Range, 50 km from Townsville on Saturday night. As per the Queensland Police, Symonds' car got off the road and rolled. The former Australian cricketer sustained grave injuries and succumbed. The emergency services in Australia had tried to revive him but their efforts went in vain as he breathed his last on Saturday.</p>

<p>One of the finest all-rounders in the modern era, Symonds was known for his aggressive batting and handy bowling. He played an instrumental role in Australia's incredible success under former captain Ricky Ponting and was a vital cog in the team for a number of years.</p>
