When he heard the sound of the crash, Padilla said that he first thought it was another bomb test, while speaking to CBS News Los Angeles.

"I told my friend, 'it must be another test from the bomb' and he said, 'No, it's not a bomb, look at the smoke coming out of the ground,'' said Padilla.

After closer inspection, they found that the smoke is coming from a crashed aircraft.

Suddenly, three extraterrestrials came out of the aircraft and started "sashaying and running in circles. They had crashed at my father's ranch, and they needed help," he added.

Consumer Reports has highlighted the potential health risks associated with long-term exposure to these heavy metals, including nervous system problems, immune system suppression, and kidney damage, with particular concern for pregnant women and young children. While the U.S. Food and Drug Administration considers chocolate a "minor source of exposure" to lead and cadmium on a global scale, it emphasises that manufacturers and processors must ensure the safety of their products.

As per the report, a state-backed Saudi enterprise would purchase stakes in $15 billion worth of mining assets in African nations like the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, and Namibia, granting U.S. businesses the opportunity to purchase some of the production.

For supply of cobalt, lithium, and other metals used in electric car batteries, laptops, and cellphones, the U.S. is racing with China.

Saudi Arabian Mining Co (Ma'aden) and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) acquired 10 per cent of Brazilian Vale’s base metal unit in a similar deal in July, while American investment group Engine No. 1 acquired 3 per cent.

The newspaper reported that the PIF contacted Congo in June about investing&nbsp;$3 billion, through its joint venture with Ma’aden, into the country's cobalt, copper, and tantalum industries.

Manara -- the joint venture between the PIF and&nbsp;Ma'aden --&nbsp;is also concentrating on nickel, lithium, and iron ore.

The White House is looking for financial support from other sovereign wealth funds in the area, but according to the Journal, negotiations with Saudi Arabia have advanced the most.

"Thefts have occurred in residential driveways, public carparks and on main roads with public presence not seeming to deter offenders," state police said in a statement, adding that the devices were then sold on the secondhand market. 
 
After several arrests, they are encouraging owners to mark or engrave the devices with the vehicle identification number, as well as making them harder to remove, for instance by welding in the retaining bolts. 
 
Other measures include parking in locked or well-lit areas, near walls or fences with the car bonnet facing a solid object to discourage access to the converter. 
 
Prices of platinum are up 38% from a year ago at $1,173 an ounce, while palladium is up 43% at $2,758 an ounce.
