<p>"We couldn't locate him," Merry said. He further added that he couldn't recall if there was any follow-up because "he doesn't have any reports with him".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Later, he disseminated an awareness alert to all law enforcement agencies across the state. The alert was issued after a sheriff's deputy visited Card's home, a visit which yielded nothing.</p>

<p>The location was also where the police found his abandoned vehicle shortly after the shooting spree on Wednesday night. “He is dead,” Mills told reporters during a press conference, thanking the hundreds of officers from various agencies involved in the search.</p>

<p>As of early Friday, authorities said they were chasing down more than 530 tips and leads on Card’s possible whereabouts and even deployed personnel along the Androscoggin River in nearby Lisbon where divers used sonar to look for evidence – or a body.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Officials had also lifted the shelter-in-place order for the area around Lewiston that had shuttered schools and businesses keeping tens of thousands of people in their homes since the suspect was still at large.&nbsp;</p>

And will continue to gather information so that we can bring the suspect to justice and ultimately seek prosecution down the road," he said during the brief.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A picture of a white SUV was also posted, which was later located in Lisbon - about eight miles southeast of the city of Lewiston, said Sauschuck.&nbsp;</p>
