<p>On Sunday, Puri took to X and said that it was the "First Oil" production commenced from the complex and difficult deepwater KG-DWN-98/2 Block, which is situated off the coast of the Bay of Bengal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The union minister further said that the energy production of the country is also set to rise from the deepest frontiers of Krishna Godavari.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a video posted by the news agency ANI on Monday, Puri said that the first oil was extracted a day before at 30 kilometres off the coast of Kakinada in the Krishna Godavari Basin.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said, "Work started on this in 2016-17, then there were some delays due to COVID-19, but I'm sure that out of the 26 wells there, four wells are already operational."&nbsp;</p>

<p>He further added, "We will not only have gas also in a very short period but by May and June, we hope to be able to produce 45,000 barrels per day, which will be 7 per cent of our total crude oil production and 7 per cent of our gas production..."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The minister further said that the production is expected to be 45,000 barrels per day and over 10 million cubic metres of gas per day, contributing towards an energy 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This project is expected to add seven per cent to current national oil production and seven per cent to national natural gas production. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Mani and her daughter Durga Bhavani confined themselves to the four walls of their house in 2020 after the outbreak of Covid. Though the pandemic later came under control, the women continued to remain in isolation.</p>

<p>Mani’s husband had been providing them with food and water but for the last week, they were not allowing him into their room. He, then, approached the local authorities.<br />

This is the second such incident to come to light in the state. In July last year, a similar incident was reported from the East Godavari district when three women had confined themselves inside their house for almost 15 months due to the fear of getting infected by Covid.&nbsp;<br />

<p>The Kakinada Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar has come up with a unique way of teaching the residents who irresponsibly dump garbage on the streets or on the road, a lesson.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The sanitation workers will bring the garbage back to the person's house who is littering on the roads, or worse the person can be fined after one warning.</p>

<p>This as per a new cleanliness initiative by Kakinada Municipal Corporation.</p>

<p>Kakinada is the 6th largest city of Indian State of Andhra Pradesh and serves as the district headquarters of East Godavari district of the State.</p>

<p>Pundkar took the decision after seeing a woman throw garbage on a road, while sanitation workers were on waste-collection duty.</p>

<p>Pundkar, who was supervising the work, immediately asked a worker to take the garbage back to the house of the woman. When the shocked house owner tried to resist, the municipal commissioner explained to her not to litter roads, but hand it over to the sanitation workers who come to collect garbage.</p>

<p>Pundkar added there are 900 sanitation workers in Kakinada, exclusively for collecting garbage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"They collect garbage from 7 am to 9 am. Every house is given an RFID ("radio frequency identification) tag, which the sanitation worker scans so that their physical presence at every household is registered. Most people are responding well to this, but not all," he said, adding that in the next three months, garbage collection will be categorised into wet and dry.</p>

<p>"Now, we are collecting all kinds of garbage together. After three months or so, we will start collecting dry and wet garbage separately. People have a habit of throwing garbage near waste bins, rather than inside them. So we are planning to remove the dumper bins in the city within a year. We want Kakinada to stand ahead in the race for Smart Cities. Sanitation and cleanliness are our priorities," he said.</p>

<p>The IMD further predicted damage to thatched huts, minor damage to power and communication lines due to breaking of branches, major damage to Kutcha and damage to Pucca roads, uprooting of small trees and some damage to paddy crops, banana, papaya trees and orchards, apart from sea water inundation in low lying areas after erosion of Kutcha embankments.</p>
