Joss Weadon directorial 'Justice League' is one of the most controversial movies of recent times. Now Ben Affleck, who played 'Batman' in the film recently opened up about his experiences on the movie set. 
 
The Oscar-winning star, who first played the role of the iconic superhero in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and reprised the role for 'Justice League', described his time filming as 'the worst experience'.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 49-year-old admits the filming of the movie was awful for him, although, he clarified that at that time he faced so many difficulties in his personal life as well, so combining all it was a tough time for the actor.&nbsp; 
 
Back then, Affleck was going through a divorce with actress Jennifer Garner. Along with the devastating death of Zack Snyder's daughter and he was shortly replaced by Joss Whedon. &nbsp;“It was really Justice League that was the nadir for me,” Ben said. 
 
“That was a bad experience because of a confluence of things: my own life, my divorce, being away too much, the competing agendas and then [director] Zack [Snyder]’s personal tragedy [Snyder’s daughter Autumn died by suicide in 2017] and the reshooting. It just was the worst experience. It was awful. It was everything that I didn’t like about this. That became the moment where I said, ‘I’m not doing this anymore.’ It’s not even about, like, Justice League was so bad. Because it could have been anything.”

Snyder said, ''that the film was shot while Cavil was wearing the red and blue Superman suit but it was turned black during post-production''.

Snyder confirmed that he will only use the scenes that he had shot before leaving the film in the cut. 
''There will be no chance on earth that I will use a shot prior or after I left the movie,'' Snyder said.

''I would destroy the movie, I would set it on fire before I would use a single frame that I did not photograph. That is an f—ing hard fact.'' 
 
Snyder has directed two DC movies earlier, including, 'Man of Steel' in 2013 and 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' in 2016.&nbsp;The Snyder Cut is expected to release next year on HBO Max.

In the past few years, there has been a gamut of Marvel movies - each enjoyable and highly entertaining while post-Nolan&#39;s Batman series, there has been a serious void from the DC Comic universe on the big screen. Some would argue that there have been the Superman series but were those films even a patch on what Marvel factory was churning?&nbsp; 
 
Zack Snyder, who is credited for Man Of Steel and 300, created a disastrous, melodramatic Batman Vs Superman in 2016. Perhaps learning a few things from his past mistakes, Snyder&#39;s latest - The Justice League, attempts at salvaging the now sinking DC comic cinematic universe. But the film only manages to do so in parts.&nbsp; 
 
The film takes off from where Batman Vs Superman ended. With Superman dead, Batman and Wonder Woman are left to defend an evil gigantic force who goes by the name of Steppenwolf. The half man-half bull has acquired the three mother boxes- which basically stores all of the universe&#39; energy - which when brought together can cause excessive destruction the world over. So the two &#39;veterans&#39; decide to rope in three rookie superheroes- Cyborg, The Flash and Aquaman. And when these five realise that their collective forces aren&#39;t enough to fight the villain, they bring back Superman from the dead. Yes, literally.&nbsp; 
 
To its credit, Justice League has an impressive set of actors playing their parts well. They also infuse an underlying humour which creates some genuinely funny moments but when you think of the film in its entirety, there is so much more that could have been done with the film. 
 
Among the actors, its Ezra Miller- as The Flash, who stands out with his quirky lines. Miller gets to say the best lines in the film and you find yourself rooting for him the most. Its also refreshing to see a superhero so openly discussing what all he is afraid of and Miller makes The Flash quite nonchalant and cool. There is also the wonderful Gal Gadot as the Wonder Woman who at many moments literally saves the film from becoming a drag.&nbsp; 
 
The narrative takes too much time to establish the real plot and second half is quite a drag except for the scenes where Miller sparkles as the star-struck superhero fan. In fact, Miller and Affleck&#39;s scenes will sort of remind you of Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr&#39;s scenes in Captain America: Civil War. See what DC is doing here?

The plot is predictable like all superhero film plots are. The action scenes lack freshness and the background score is just about average. One can&#39;t help but draw comparisons to the thoroughly entertaining Thor: Ragnarok which released just two weeks back. And Justice League fails in comparison to a lot of other superhero films but it isn&#39;t necessarily a bad film. It is tedious but is also enjoyable in parts. But then why should ardent DC comics fans settle for something average. The film should be mindbogglingly awesome, no?

Aquaman 
In actor Jason Mamoa&#39;s(who plays the superhero in the film) own words, Aquaman is a &#39;loner&#39; who only jumps into action when he realizes his mother&#39;s world is under threat. The son of a man and an Atlantean queen, Aquaman is not very sure about what he should be doing with his superpowers initially. A &#39;reluctant hero&#39; he despises both the surface world and the undersea one until Batman instills a bit of hope in him. 
 
Cyborg 
Cyborg&#39;s alter ego Victor Stone is Gotham University&#39;s star quarterback player. But a freak accident turned him half man-half robot. His body is a weaponized android body and his superpowers evolve over the course of the film. &quot;&quot;It was really fun just being able to put in some of the work on the physical side of things: just mapping out how he moves, so when he&rsquo;s unable to control his cannon in one of the scenes, figuring out what that looks like so it&rsquo;s not just me up their pop-locking,&rdquo; says actor Ray Fisher who plays the part in the film. 
 
The Flash&nbsp; 
A college kid- with a heavy heart and a somewhat troubled past, Flash reminds Bruce of his younger self. Struck by lightning, Flash is the fastest man alive and he is on a mission to prove his father&#39;s innocence who has been accused of murdering his mother. Ezra Miller who plays the superhero on the big screen says, &ldquo;There&rsquo;s nothing interesting about a perfect superhero,&rdquo; Miller says. &ldquo;Stories about greatness are best rooted in the mundane, in the weaknesses that dwell beneath that greatness.&rdquo; 
 
Starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Jason Mamoa, Ray Fisher and Ezra Miller- Justice League is scheduled to release on 17th November in India.
