The Jammu and Kashmir police investigation in the high profile arrest case of a top police officer has revealed new details of how <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/jammu-and-kashmir-decorated-police-officer-caught-with-three-terrorists-in-kulgam-273765">Davinder Singh was planning to take the arrested terrorists to Jammu</a> first and then Chandigarh.&nbsp;

According to sources, Davinder was on the radar of security forces from quite some time.&nbsp;

In 2019, he took Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Commander Syed Naveed alias Babu to Jammu successfully where they stayed at Sidra area and later dropped him back as well. But the circumstances were different this time as a phone call was traced by the J&amp;K police which hinted at the movement of terrorists to the Jammu region.&nbsp;

The sources say Naveed was planning a longer stay in Jammu this year.&nbsp;

Sources in the security establishment say that Davinder had taken an amount of 12 lakh rupees from Naveed to transport them to Jammu. Sources privy to the information say that an amount of 7.5 Lakh was recovered from his Indra Nagar house by the forces.&nbsp;

Interestingly, the father and mother of Naveed, the top Hizb terrorists caught with a police officer, currently reside in New Delhi. If reports are to be believed, the brother of Naveed currently studies in Chandigarh.&nbsp;

Davinder has two houses, one in Srinagar and the other at his native village in Tral, south Kashmir. The Srinagar house is located at Indra Nagar which is almost completing construction is lavishing and located next to the wall of the Army's Srinagar headquarter which could've been a massive security threat given the links of Singh with terrorists.&nbsp;

The cop, according to sources had brought terrorists from Shopian in south Kashmir to Srinagar and had kept them at his rented accommodation where he lived. They say that police later raided the houses and recovered weapons and other ammunition from his house which sources say wasn't his official weapon.

"He was brought here at night. I saw him chained and later police came out with some rifles. He has a black Scorpio car and a scooter here," said a neighbour at Indra Nagar adding that his two daughters are studying outside the country.&nbsp;

The security forces are also seeing the CCTV footage taken from the Srinagar airport and have sent his mobile phone for the forensic investigation to get more clues. All this may open up more possible links of an officer with terrorists or accomplices.&nbsp;

The Jammu and Kashmir police have said that Davinder Singh was not awarded any Gallantry or Meritorious Medal by Ministry of Home Affairs, however, he was awarded a gallantry medal for his participation in countering a suicide attack by terrorists at district police lines in Pulwama which claimed lives in eight security forces personnel including four CRPF men in July 2018.

Budgam Police in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday filed a charge sheet against six terror associates affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr, as per records available with the police.

"The charge sheet was filed before the competent court for a case registered under relevant sections of law against the all six terrorist associates identified as Tanveer Laway, Shahnawaz Bhat, Imtiyaz Bhat, Gulzar Wani, Imtiyaz Bhat and Azad Wani," Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a press release.

"A&nbsp;case was registered for Dalwan (Chahar-e-Sharief) encounter which happened on January 2 this year in which three terrorists affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr were killed," it added.&nbsp;

The police said that the subsequent investigations in the case revealed the complexity of these six terrorist associates.&nbsp;

A police constable was shot and injured by suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's capital Srinagar on Wednesday evening. Sources said head constable Mohammad Ilyas was at home on leave when suspected terrorists barged into his house in Khanyar and shot him.

Officials said Ilyas was shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment.

Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area are searching for the attackers.

Ilyas was posted with the special branch of the district police in Handwara of north Kashmir.

A senior police officer earlier said Ilyas had died.

However, a police spokesman later clarified he was critically injured and has been admitted to the hospital where his condition is critical.

In the encounter, so far dead bodies of two terrorists have been retrieved from the site of encounter.&nbsp;

From the incriminating materials recovered at the site of the encounter, it is understood that the terrorists have affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM.&nbsp;

Their identities are being ascertained. Search is going on at the site of the encounter.

A resident of Mir Mohalla of Tral, Khan joined the Jaish-e-Mohammed sometime in 2017 as an overground worker and was later drawn into the JeM fold by Noor Mohammed Tantrey, alias ‘Noor Trali’, who is believed to have helped in the revival of the terror outfit in Kashmir Valley.

After Tantray was killed in December 2017, Khan disappeared from his home on January 14, 2018, and has been active since then.

Suicide attacker Adil Ahmed Dar, who blew his explosive-laden vehicle next to a bus in a CRPF convoy on February 14, had been in constant contact with Khan, they said.

Pulwama attack mastermind Mudasir believed to be killed in encounter: J&K Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday sent out an advisory cautioning against phone calls by people impersonating as senior officers and asking for details on the security situation in the state.

The advisory was circulated to all police officers, the state bureaucracy as well as panchayat heads and others.

Officials said the advisory was issued on the request of the Army, which has been apprehensive about details of troop mobilisation and movement of weaponry in villages located along the International Border and the Line of Control being leaked.

More than 10 reports have come in over the last 10 days about “police, civil officers as well as some civilians” receiving phone calls from suspicious unknown numbers, the advisory says.

The callers impersonated as senior army officers, senior police officers, senior civil administration officers and “tried to inquire about some security-related issues”, it states.

“During an investigation by experts, it has been found that these calls are rooted from outside the country through a specialised software due to which some other phone numbers, mostly starting with +91 code, are displayed on the mobile screen,” it says. It asks people not to entertain such calls and immediately bring the matter to the notice of the local police.

Investigations showed the calls were made from outside India, officials said. “Some anti-national elements are trying to get some vital information by fooling the people,” an official said.

The state has been on edge since February 14 when a suicide bomber attacked a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, killing 40 soldiers. On February 26, India struck a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Pakistan. The next day, tensions escalated with an Indian pilot being captured by Pakistan as both countries claimed to have down each other’s aircraft.

Kashmir Police file 2 FIRs after CRPF jeep runs over, kills protester

National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out a search at the Central Jail Srinagar.

&ldquo;Today, 20 NIA teams assisted by the J&amp;K Police, CRPF and the NSG personnel carried out an extensive search inside the Central Jail Srinagar. These teams were also accompanied by magistrates, witnesses and doctors,&rdquo; a spokesperson said.

The search was carried out in connection with investigation of NIA case RC 07/2018/NIA/DLI (Arrest of Danish Gulam Lone and Sohail Ahmed Bhat by Kupwara Police) in which it was found that fresh recruits of Al-Badr, a proscribed terrorist organization, were being sent across for arms training in furtherance of a conspiracy hatched from inside the Central Jail Srinagar.

The searches started early morning and continued until late afternoon. All the barracks and the open ground were thoroughly searched with the help of well-trained teams and deep search metal detectors. A close watch on the entire operation was kept with the help of drones.

During the search, 25 mobile phones, some SIM cards, 05 SD cards, 05 pen drives, 01 iPod and a large number of incriminating documents/articles including a poster of Hizbul Mujahideen and a Pakistani flag beside jihadi literature were seized.

Army foils infiltration bid in J&K's Uri, 5 terrorists killed 

The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module in south Kashmir which was responsible for several bank robberies across the state.

One of the arrested members of the module is Sandeep Sharma alias Adil, originally a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Munir Khan, IGP, Jammu and Kashmir said Sharma was in the same house where LeT commander Bashir Lashkari had taken shelter.

Khan said Sharma assisted Lashkar militants in looting ATMs across the state.

On further inquiry by the police, it was revealed that Sharma along with other individuals hatched a criminal conspiracy leading to providing shelter, ferrying of terrorists from one place to another for terror strikes and actively participating in terrorist activities, according to ANI.

ANI further added that Sharma also concealed weapons looted from police guards in a vehicle and shifted them to different locations on the directions of LeT.

Munir Khan, IGP, Jammu and Kashmir said Sandeep Sharma assisted LeT militants in looting ATMs across the state

The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module in south Kashmir which was responsible for several bank robberies across the state. One of the arrested members of the module is Sandeep Sharma alias Adil, originally a resident of Uttar Pradesh. Munir Khan, IGP, Jammu and Kashmir said Sharma was in the same house where LeT commander Bashir Lashkari had taken shelter. Khan said Sharma assisted Lashkar militants in looting ATMs across the state. On further inquiry by the police, it was revealed that Sharma along with other individuals hatched a criminal conspiracy leading to providing shelter, ferrying of terrorists from one place to another for terror strikes and actively participating in terrorist activities, according to ANI. ANI further added that Sharma also concealed weapons looted from police guards in a vehicle and shifted them to different locations on the directions of LeT. Jammu and Kashmir police bust LeT module, arrest UP resident

A police driver was killed today after a mob pushed his mobile bunker vehicle into river Jhelum in Anantnag district of Kashmir even as there was no trace of three cops reported missing since yesterday following a mob attack on a police station. 
 
In another incident, a head constable of police was shot in both legs by militants last night at his residence in Tral area of Pulwama district, a police official said. 
 
&quot;A mobile bunker of police was pushed into river by protestors and the driver (SPO Feroz Ahmad) in it has died,&quot; Education Minister Naeem Akhtar told reporters here. 
 
Referring to yesterday&#39;s incident in which a large mob attacked a police station, he said, &quot;Three policemen are still kidnapped. Although many were taken (hostage), some have returned.&quot; 
 
During that attack at Damhal Hanjipora in south Kashmir, the mob had taken 20 policemen hostage, snatched their weapons and shot at and injured three cops using those firearms. 
 
Nearly 100 policemen and paramilitary CRPF personnel were injured in stonepelting by protestors across Kashmir in the wake of killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an encounter with security forces on Friday.
