It is at a members-only elite club that young Trump meets the bullish Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong), a star attorney who takes a liking for the blonde young man. It takes Donald&nbsp;a bit of persuasion to convince him to represent his father in a case that the federal government has slapped against Trump Village which has discriminated against African-American tenants. Roy eventually agrees as he feels Trump is a '24-carat American patriot'. Not only does Cohn&nbsp;win the case, but he takes Trump under his wings and moulds him as a ruthless businessman who can go to any length, and use all sorts of nefarious tactics to bend state laws to build his real estate empire.&nbsp; 
 
Cohn teaches Trump life's three rules – Admit nothing, deny everything and claim victory, no matter what the outcome of a skirmish is. Cohn also uses the strategy of attack, attack and attack and uses manipulative ways to coax mayors, and other government officials to give Donald leeway as he builds the Hyatt hotel and then the Trump towers. 
 
In the first half of the film, Trump is seen more as a follower of the dynamic Cohn. He shadows him in everything except, perhaps Roy's way of colourful life or drugs and sex. It is also around this period that Donald meets model and aspiring interior designer Ivana (played by Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova) whom he falls in love with and marries much to Roy's discomfort.

In the first half, Trump is almost unrecognisable and we only see a man trying desperately to break into the power corridors of America and make a mark for himself, shadowing the influential and powerful Cohn. The second half of the transformation seems a bit sudden but it is Trump that the world knows more of. A calculative, cold-hearted, megalomaniac who is only interested in his own benefits and looks out for himself. 
 
Sherman's writing adds layers to Donald and Roy's personalities. Trump is shown initially as an insecure man who later builds his version of truth which cannot be changed under any circumstance. Roy, a closeted gay man, makes extra efforts to show his alpha male energy to the world, cussing, and making fun of the marginalised just to be accepted by one and all in the corridors of power.&nbsp;

Sherman's writing and Abbasi's deft direction is brilliantly supported by great performances by Stan and Strong. Stan gets Trump's mannerisms, the slight lisp, the facial twitches to the T. Initially as a young businessman, you can't seem to identify with Stan's Trump but in the second half, you see the uncanny similarities.&nbsp; 
 
The film, however, belongs to Strong. You can't take your eyes off the actor who makes Roy such an intriguing character. With a constant deadpan expression and some witty lines, Strong's Roy Cohn is a performance that will be remembered for a long long time. Near the end of the film, as Donald and Roy's relationship strains, a scene has strong feebly standing in front of a lit-up cake and breaking down. The scene is the most heart-wrenching scene of the film, where you know that the man you are sympathising for is not the right man yet you see yourself rooting for him.&nbsp; 
 
The Apprentice&nbsp;very subtly takes a dig at Trump but also humanises him. With several dialogues that make you relate to his current persona, The&nbsp;Apprentice&nbsp;takes&nbsp;a deep look at the man who might just serve his second term at the office in the US soon.&nbsp;

HBO's Succession ended on Sunday with a depressing and in many ways perfect finale. In the end, none of the Roy siblings got what they wanted. Connor is off to Slovenia, or thinks he is, as an ambassador when he wanted to be the US President. Kendall, Shiv, and Roman wanted to rule Waystar Royco, their father's media empire, but all of them were foiled by Lukas Matsson and Tom Wambsgans. While Tom is the nominal CEO, it is Mattson who wields real power. While Shiv and Roman are more or less resigned to their fates, Kendall is less so. As he said in the episode, if he doesn't become the CEO, he is nothing. “If I don’t get this, I feel like…I might die" are his exact words.&nbsp;

After learning that he cannot convince, manipulate or bully his siblings to vote in his favour, he leaves the Waystar headquarters and wanders purposelessly around the Battery Park and stares out towards the Hudson river. It is not clear what he has in his mind. Many have posited that he pondered killing himself, as he has displayed suicidal tendencies before.

Nothing. The scene cuts a little too soon as he gazes towards the water like a man already dead. In many ways, he might be. But we know he will be safe, and the writers make it clear as day, when we see Colin Stiles, the late Logan's bodyguard, keeping an eye out for him.

While Kendall is not in a good position in the end of Succession, he is still not so bad. He did get a lot of money from the GoJo deal, after all, and can live out his days in peace and luxury. Jeremy Strong, the man behind the character, has said that being into his character was almost too much for him as he jumped into the river, believing Kendall wanted to die. He told Vanity Fair, “I tried to go into the water after we cut — I got up from that bench and went as fast as I could over the barrier and onto the pilings, and the actor playing Colin (Scott Nicholson) raced over."

He added, "I didn’t know I was gonna do that, and he didn’t know, but he raced over and stopped me. I don’t know whether in that moment I felt that Kendall just wanted to die — I think he did — or if he wanted to be saved by essentially a proxy of his father.”

Yikes.

Emmy winning-actor Jeremy Strong is set to play writer John Gruenn in Netflix’s ‘Maestro’. It is a biopic on music composer Leonard Bernstein. The project is fronted by Bradley Cooper.&nbsp;

The film will chronicle 30 years of Leonard Bernstein’s life who rose to fame after he was tasked with conducting the New York Philharmonic when he was 25. He grew in fame as he composed and wrote the music of cult film ‘West Side Story’.

The film will also take us through a “beautifully complex story of the marriage” between Leonard Bernstein and his wife, Felicia Montealegre, to be played by Carey Mulligan.

Bradley Cooper has penned the script of the film in collaboration with Josh Singer, the Academy Award-winning scribe of ‘Spotlight’. The project will be produced by veteran filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese in addition to Bradley Cooper, Todd Philips, Fred Berner, Amy Durning and Kristie Macosko Krieger.
