In all, 190 cars were bought and over Rs 21 crore was saved. On average, each member saved between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 17 lakh, enough to buy another car for a family member,” said Jain.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>JITO is now coming with a new initiative called ‘Utsav’ for similar deals with major brands in jewellery, consumer durables and electronics.</p>

Recently, Sweety, a 30-year-old woman, wife of a businessman from Karnataka, and her&nbsp;11-year-old son Hridhan, embraced monkhood. After their Diksha ceremony, they were given new names: the mother was named Bhavshudhi Rekha Shri Ji, and the son was named Hitashay Ratanavijay Ji. For those unfamiliar, Diksha is a solemn ceremony where a person commits to living an ascetic or spiritually disciplined life.</p>

<p>As per Viveka, a relative of the family who spoke to HT, Bhavshudhi Rekha Shri Ji chose to embark on the path of monkhood while she was pregnant with her son. Concurrently, she also determined that her child would follow in her footsteps and become a Jain monk. Consequently, her son was brought up with the knowledge that he would eventually embrace the monastic lifestyle.</p>

<p>Her father owns Sanghvi and Sons, a diamond polishing and export firm in Surat that has been operating for nearly three decades.</p>

<p>The girl showed interest in spiritual life from a young age. She even walked about 700 km with other monks and adopted their lifestyle before officially becoming a monk, according to her family.&nbsp;</p>

Indian couple from Gujarat gives up billion-dollar lifestyle to become monks

<p>Anamika Rathore, who along with her husband Sumit, had decided to take up monkhood, leaving behind their three-year-old daughter and property worth Rs 100 crores was initiated into monkhood on Monday.</p>

<p>Anamika, 34, became a sadhvi (hermit) followed by her husband Sumit Rathore who became a Jain monk on Saturday. She had earlier postponed her diksha or initiation because of incomplete legal formalities, a media report said.</p>

<p>The function of &nbsp;Anamika&#39;s ritual was held in Surat under the supervision of Acharya Ramlal Ji Maharaj, who had also initiated her husband to monkhood. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Both took up monkhood amidst opposition from several quarters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The couple faced a lot of criticism from the community, mainly for leaving their three-year-old daughter, Ibhya, as per media reports.</p>

<p>Anamika, now Sadhvi Anakaar, had presented her daughter&#39;s adoption papers before the officials, saying &quot;My child will not become an orphan if I leave her. My brother and sister-in-law who are issueless have gladly adopted her. My father&#39;s family is rich and so is my father-in-law&#39;s family. The charges levelled by public representatives and others who had complained to the NHRC are false and had been done to get cheap publicity,&quot; according to the religious leader.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A few social activists also moved to the local administration in Neemuch and Surat and had written to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).</p>

<p>In response, Saint Udai Muni, who is quite high in the Jain hierarchy, said no judicial or administrative power can intervene in the religious affairs of minorities. He added that the Jain religious leaders won&#39;t tolerate interference by &quot;outsiders&quot;.</p>

Anamika Rathore, who along with her husband Sumit, had decided to take up monkhood, leaving behind their three-year-old daughter and property worth Rs 100 crores was initiated into monkhood on Monday. Anamika, 34, became a sadhvi (hermit) followed by her husband Sumit Rathore who became a Jain monk on Saturday. She had earlier postponed her diksha or initiation because of incomplete legal formalities, a media report said. The function of Anamika's ritual was held in Surat under the supervision of Acharya Ramlal Ji Maharaj, who had also initiated her husband to monkhood. Both took up monkhood amidst opposition from several quarters. The couple faced a lot of criticism from the community, mainly for leaving their three-year-old daughter, Ibhya, as per media reports. Anamika, now Sadhvi Anakaar, had presented her daughter's adoption papers before the officials, saying "My child will not become an orphan if I leave her. My brother and sister-in-law who are issueless have gladly adopted her. My father's family is rich and so is my father-in-law's family. The charges levelled by public representatives and others who had complained to the NHRC are false and had been done to get cheap publicity," according to the religious leader. A few social activists also moved to the local administration in Neemuch and Surat and had written to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). In response, Saint Udai Muni, who is quite high in the Jain hierarchy, said no judicial or administrative power can intervene in the religious affairs of minorities. He added that the Jain religious leaders won't tolerate interference by "outsiders".
