"The prime minister has awakened from anaesthesia and is in good condition. He has been transferred to the recovery unit and will remain under observation in the coming days," the Hadassah Medical Centre said in a statement.
&ldquo;There was no fear&rdquo; of cancer or malignancy. &ldquo;We only hope for the best,&rdquo; Hospital, head of the urology department at Jerusalem&rsquo;s Hadassah Medical Center, said in a video statement.
Earlier, in March, the Israeli PM had surgery for a hernia. He also has a heart condition due to which he underwent surgery to have a pacemaker implanted in July last year.
In a statement, his office said that he was taken to an underground recovery unit and is expected to remain there for several days for observation. His current location is fortified against potential missile attacks.
The operation was carried out on Sunday (Dec 29). Netanyahu had a testimony scheduled this week concerning his ongoing corruption trial. His lawyer, Amit Hadad, called off the court presence as he would require &ldquo;a number of days&rdquo; for the procedure.
Netanyahu has denied the charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

Israeli PM Netanyahu ‘in good condition’ after successful prostate removal surgery

Head of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah said on Wednesday that his group would cease its cross-border attacks on Israel if a ceasefire was reached between Israel and&nbsp;Hamas, and that his group would recognise Hamas, the Palestinian ally's decision on Gaza truce negotiations.

Israel's retaliatory attack after Palestinian militant group's October 7 attack sparked hostilities in the Gaza Strip, and Hezbollah has exchanged nearly daily fire with Israeli forces in support of Hamas, raising fears of a full-fledged conflict.

Nasrallah stated, "Hamas is negotiating... on behalf of the whole axis of resistance," referring to regional pro-Iran forces opposing Israel and the US.

"Whatever Hamas accepts, everyone accepts and is satisfied with," he said.&nbsp;

"We do not ask (Hamas) to coordinate with us because the battle in the first instance is theirs," he added.

Nasrallah's statement comes days after meeting with a Hamas delegation led by Foreign Relations Chief Khalil al-Hayya, and just before talks to negotiate a ceasefire and hostage release deal were about to start in Qatar on the Gaza war, which is currently in its tenth month.&nbsp;

Hamas has signalled that it may remove its demand for a "complete" ceasefire, which Israel has consistently rejected, as a prerequisite for starting truce talks.

"If a ceasefire is reached, and we all hope for that... our front will cease-fire without any discussion," Hezbollah supremo said.&nbsp;

"That is a commitment because it is a support front and we have been clear (about this) from the start," he added.

"We will continue fighting and doing everything necessary to bring about the desired result" in our fight against Hezbollah, "even if there is a ceasefire" in the Gaza Strip, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said on Sunday.

According to an AFP count, since October, cross-border conflict in Lebanon has claimed the lives of around 500 individuals, the majority of them were combatants but also included 95 civilians.

According to the officials, at least 29 persons have died on the Israeli side, most of them were soldiers.

Hamas announced on Thursday (May 30) that it has informed mediators it would refrain from further negotiations amid ongoing hostilities but expressed readiness for a comprehensive agreement, which would involve an exchange of hostages and prisoners, contingent upon Israel ceasing the conflict.

The talks, mediated by among others Egypt and Qatar, to arrange a ceasefire between Israel and the Islamist movement in the Gaza war have repeatedly stalled with both sides blaming the other for the lack of progress.

Israel-Hamas war: Truce talks likely to resume next week as pressure piles on PM Netanyahu 

A large crowd of Pro-Palestinian demonstrators&nbsp;in the United States&nbsp;stormed the streets near the annual Met Gala fashion fundraiser on Monday (May 6).&nbsp;Protesters vandalised a World War I memorial in Central Park and torched the American flag at the One Hundred Seventh Infantry Memorial&nbsp;after police barred a group of more than 1,000 demonstrators from entering the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, which was hosting the Met Gala.

Vogue has been the host of the fashion event every year since 1948. This year, when celebrities walked on the&nbsp;carpet, demonstrators gathered outside, calling for an end to the months-long Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.

Around 6 pm ET, the pro-Palestinian group marched towards the event as the red carpet arrivals began. Videos of the protesters are making the rounds on social media. The New York City Police Department confronted the protesters.

According to Channel 12 news, Israel said that it would not let Hamas delay the IDF strike on Rafah by dragging the hostage deal negotiation. “This is the last chance before we go into Rafah,” the official said. How does Egypt fit in the picture? Egypt and Qatar are prime negotiators aiming to broker a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. Egypt is concerned that if Israel finally invades Rafah, a threat it has repeatedly made, tens of thousands of Palestinians would enter Egypt, perhaps resulting in a border breach that jeopardises Egyptian security. The southern Gaza city of Rafah is where over one million displaced Palestinians are reported to be living after Israel attacked Gaza. Earlier this week, Gen. Herzi Halevi, Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and Ronen Bar, Director of the Shin Bet security agency, visited Cairo. According to media sources, during their visit, Egypt provided new proposals for negotiating a hostage settlement between Israel and Hamas. On Friday, an Egyptian delegation visited Israel to conclude the hostage deal talks. The number of days of the ceasefire will be linked to the number of hostages who will be released. Taking to social media platform X, Qatari foreign ministry spokesman Majed Al Ansari wrote "The State of Qatar announces that, as part of the ongoing mediation, an agreement has been reached to extend the humanitarian truce for an additional two days in the Gaza Strip".

Qatar, with the support of Egypt and the United States, had for days been engaged in intense negotiations to establish and prolong the truce in Gaza.

The extension, as per an Al Jazeera report, has been confirmed by militant group Hamas.

"Hamas announced that an agreement has been reached with the brothers in Qatar and Egypt for an extension of the temporary humanitarian pause for an additional two days, with the same conditions as the previous truce," said the group in a statement, as reported by AFP.

<h2>The terms of the truce</h2>

During the course of the initial truce, a total of 50 civilian hostages — including women and children — were expected to be released.

In exchange, Israel had agreed to release 150 Palestinian prisoners. Additionally, humanitarian aid was to be allowed into the war-torn region.

The first three days of the truce, as per AFP, saw Hamas release 58 hostages — including 39 Israeli hostages, along with 17 Thais, one Filipino and one dual Russian-Israeli national. On the other hand, in exchange, Israel released 117 Palestinian prisoners.

The truce was set to end on Monday (Nov 27) night. It marks a pause in the seven-week conflict that has inflicted significant casualties and destruction in the Palestinian enclave.

More than 50 people were reported killed after Israeli forces allegedly bombed a refugee camp in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, the health ministry claimed on Tuesday.

"More than 50 martyrs and around 150 wounded and dozens under the rubble, in a heinous Israeli massacre that targeted a large area of homes in Jabalia camp in the northern (Gaza) Strip," a ministry statement said.

According to AFP, at least 47 bodies have been recovered at the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

The ministry said the blast was caused by an Israeli air strike.

Jabalia is the largest of the Gaza Strip’s eight refugee camps and it's tightly packed with narrow streets and breezeblock buildings.&nbsp;Before the war, it housed around 116,000 residents who lived in just 1.4 sq km.

The director of Gaza’s Indonesian Hospital told Al Jazeera that more than 50 Palestinians were killed and 150 wounded in Israeli air strikes on the populated camp area.

At least 50 killed in Israeli bombing of Gaza refugee camp

Just the night before Hamas’ assault on Israel, the security and intelligence establishment of the Jewish nation received some unnerving signals that aroused concerns.&nbsp;

As reported by Israel’s newspaper Haaretz, several telephonic conversations were held between officials of Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Shin Bet security service and Southern Command.&nbsp;

Two telephonic conversations involved Shin Bet, IDF’s Intelligence Corps, the operations division and Southern Command, and these took place with the knowledge of IDF Chief of Staff Herzl Halevi.

A separate consultation was held at Shin Bet security service, which also involved its head Ronen Bar.

<h2>What was the intelligence input?</h2>

It was not fully clear exactly what intelligence input triggered these high-level consultations in the Jewish nation, but Haaretz reported that “the information involved an exercise.”

Despite significant nervousness, both IDF’s Intelligence Corps and Shin Bet security service didn’t recommend increasing the state of alert.

No steps were taken, as the Shin Bet said the signals or the intelligence input was insufficient to derive any insight.

But Shin Bet was concerned that an isolated abduction attack might take place. So, it decided to dispatch a small operational squad to the south.

It was decided that the situation would be reassessed the next morning.

Turned out it was too late by then.

<h2>Intelligence failure</h2>

On October 7, Hamas launched a massive terrorist attack on Israeli soil. The Shin Bet unit that was dispatched to the south found itself fighting off terrorists at a kibbutz - or Jewish community- near the Gaza border later in the day.

It was definitely an intelligence failure but what shocked the Israeli security establishment was a coordinated leak by a political source to political reporters regarding the failure, Haaretz reported.

Haaretz cited some top Israeli officers as saying that ‘it was no coincidence that shortly after the chief of staff's statement to the public taking responsibility for the horrible failure, someone was already busy briefing in detail regarding the failures of the IDF and the Shin Bet.’

<h2>Warnings to the PM</h2>

Two telephonic conversations involved Shin Bet, IDF’s Intelligence Corps, the operations division and Southern Command, and these took place with the knowledge of IDF Chief of Staff Herzl Halevi. A separate consultation was held at Shin Bet security service, which also involved its head Ronen Bar. What was the intelligence input? It was not fully clear exactly what intelligence input triggered these high-level consultations in the Jewish nation, but Haaretz reported that “the information involved an exercise.” Despite significant nervousness, both IDF’s Intelligence Corps and Shin Bet security service didn’t recommend increasing the state of alert. So, it decided to dispatch a small operational squad to the south. It was decided that the situation would be reassessed the next morning. Turned out it was too late by then. The Shin Bet unit that was dispatched to the south found itself fighting off terrorists at a kibbutz - or Jewish community- near the Gaza border later in the day. On Tuesday (Oct 10), the cyber unit of Israel Police seized many online accounts maintained by the Hamas terror group who had crowdfunded cryptocurrencies.

During an investigation, it was found that Hamas collected funds by stealing from “pro-Israel” countries.

Times of India (TOI) newspaper on Wednesday (Oct 11) reported citing Indian security agency sources that they have intensified their surveillance efforts in order to prevent a repeat of what happened in 2021 when cryptocurrencies of a Delhi-based individual were stolen by Hamas.

The case in New Delhi was the first instance of Hamas' activity in India.

In late 2021, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell was probing a cryptocurrency theft worth 40 million rupees ($4,80, 900 approx.) siphoned off from the wallet of a West Delhi businessman.

In the complaint, the businessman claimed that some unknown thieves transferred his Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin cash from his crypto wallet.

<h2>Findings of Delhi Police's probe</h2>

Though they were able to trace a few recipient wallet IDs, they were unable to zero in on the user’s identity.

At the same time, Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, communicated—as part of routine intelligence exchange with their Indian counterparts—to Indian intel officers about some suspect wallets operated by terrorist groups for&nbsp;funding.

Many of these online wallets were being used by the al Qassam brigades of Hamas, the Palestinian terror group.

A breakthrough arrived when the Special Cell's Intelligence Fusion &amp; Strategic Ops (IFSO) unit ran a match on the wallets. It found that several wallets that had received the Bitcoin and Ethereum assets from Delhi were operated by the cyber wing of Hamas.

After finding a link, the Special Cell officers communicated the findings of their probe to the relevant authorities.

Speaking to TOI paper on Tuesday, former DCP (Special Cell) KPS Malhotra, whose team investigated the case, said, "Yes, our investigation had led us to several wallets linked to the al Qassam brigades."

He said that one of the frozen wallets belonged to Naseer Ibrahim Abdulla in Gaza and to Hamas operatives like Ahmed Marzooq in Giza and Ahmed QH Safi in Ramallah.

"The cryptocurrencies were routed through various private wallets and finally landed in these suspected wallets,” the officer was quoted as saying.
