<p>Meanwhile, reports have emerged stating that the London Police have arrested four Pak nationals in the matter.</p>

<p>Thousands of people protested outside the Indian High Commission in London on Thursday over Centre's recent move to <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/preventive-restrictions-to-rollback-in-phased-manner-says-jk-chief-secretary-schools-offices-open-from-monday-243363">abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir</a>.</p>

<p>A small counter-demonstration was kept apart from the main protest by the police, news agency Reuters reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Four people were arrested for affray, obstruction of police and possession of an offensive weapon, police said.</p>

<p>"One person was injured during the demonstrations," they said.</p>

<p>In a statement,&nbsp;London's Metropolitan Police&nbsp;said,&nbsp;"The event was largely peaceful but officers did have to react and deal with a small number of incidents as they happened. In total there were four arrests for Section 4 of the Public Order Act, affray, obstruction of police and possession of an offensive weapon".</p>

<p>"Public order trained officers were policing today's demonstration as part of a planned operation. One person was injured during the demonstrations," the statement added. &nbsp;</p>

Some of the Indian officials were jostled and aggressively threatened with bodily harm. In some cases, mobile phones of Indian officials were snatched away.</p>

<p>The Indian mission said the "disappointing chain of events" on June 1 "not only violate basic norms of diplomatic conduct but are against all notions of civilised behaviour" adding that “stopping diplomats of Indian mission from discharging diplomatic functions by intimidation and coercion is entirely counterproductive for our bilateral relationship".</p>

<p>More than 300 Pakistani guests including Parliamentarians, government officials, media representatives, retired military officials were invited to the dinner.</p>

<p>India also expressed "grave concern" over reports of attempts during the pilgrims' ongoing visit to "incite" communal disharmony and "promote secessionist tendencies" with an aim to undermine India's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the External Affairs Ministry said.</p>

<p>"India has today lodged a strong protest with the government of Pakistan that despite having been granted prior travel permission by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, the Consular officials of the High Commission of India in Islamabad were harassed and denied access on November 21 and 22 at Gurudwara Nankana Sahib and Gurudwara Sacha Sauda," the ministry said in a statement.</p>

<p>India's protest came a day after the two countries agreed to develop a corridor on their respective side of the border to link a historic Sikh shrine in Kartarpur in Pakistan.<br />
There were reports that pro-Khalistani banners were shown to the Indian pilgrims while they were on their way to the two Sikh shrines.</p>

<p>"Pakistan has been called upon to take all measures to not allow its territory to be used for any hostile propaganda and support for secessionist tendencies against India in keeping with the commitments made under the Simla Agreement, 1972 and endorsed in the Lahore Declaration, 1999," the MEA said in a statement.</p>

<p>The Indian pilgrims are visiting Pakistan under a bilateral protocol.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Pakistan has been reminded that such actions are not in consonance with the stated intentions of Pakistan to facilitate the visits of Indian Sikh pilgrims, especially as we commemorate the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji," the MEA said.</p>

<p>According to the MEA, the access was denied despite the Pakistan Foreign Ministry granting them prior travel permission.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As a result of the harassment, the officials were compelled to return to Islamabad without performing their diplomatic and consular duties vis-a-vis Indian pilgrims, it added.</p>

<p>Indian officials said this is the third consecutive visit of Indian Sikh pilgrims when Pakistan has prevented the Indian High Commission officials from meeting the Indian nationals on the pretext of security.</p>

<p>The MEA called the denial of access an attempt to deflect attention from Pakistan's violation of international legal instruments and conventions like the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.</p>

<p>In a harrowing ordeal, nine members of a cargo ship crew, including five Indians, have been stranded on their vessel outside Pakistan's Karachi port for over a year as they have yet to be paid their dues totalling around $ 300,000.</p>

<p>Apart from the Indians, the crew includes four Pakistani nationals, two people from Myanmar and one each from Sudan and Kenya.</p>

<p>"We have been lucky because we can embark the ship and come and go as we please as we are Pakistani nationals," Muhammad Reza, a member of the crew, told PTI here.</p>

<p>Reza is among the Pakistanis who were also on the cargo ship 'MV Mishki' sailing under a Panama flag when it anchored outside Karachi in August, 2017.</p>

<p>Ironically the stand-off persists despite the Sindh High Court recently passing an order that the cargo agent, a Pakistani national in Karachi, must make arrangements to pay off the dues to allow the crew members to return to their homes.</p>

<p>"These nine people including the five Indians are surviving in very poor conditions. Despite the court order the dues have not been cleared as yet and we will be filing a petition again in the court on Monday," said activist Ansar Burney of the Burney Welfare Trust.</p>

<p>Burney has been in touch with the ship crew since last year and said the owner is Somalian and his offices are in Dubai but he has been out of reach so far.</p>

<p>"I have personally called him several times and sent him messages but he is not responding," Burney said.</p>

<p>The ship sailed first from Karachi to Dubai to drop off some cargo last year then picked up more cargo to drop off in Karachi and then in Somalia.</p>

<p>"The problem arose when we reached Karachi port and anchored here and even unloaded half of the cargo. But we did not move on to Somalia because of the payment issues," Reza recalled.</p>

<p>He said it was true that the crew had refused to leave the ship until they were paid by the owner or agent.</p>

<p>"How can you expect these people to return to their homes empty-handed. One of the Indian nationals has a cancer patient at home. They have made it clear they will not leave the ship until they get their money," Burney said.</p>

<p>He said the Sindh High Court had ordered that the agent sell off the ship and clear the dues.</p>

<p>"The ship also is now in bad shape. It is tough on these people as they don't have visas and cannot even leave the ship and come ashore. A representative of the Indian High Commission visited them once but after that I don't know what they have done for them," Burney said.</p>

<p>Jadhav was sentenced to death by a Field General Court Martial (FGCM) in Pakistan this year in April.</p>

<p>However, the ICJ on May 18, 2017, stayed the hanging after India approached it against the death sentence.</p>

<p>India has appealed to the court to impose emergency measures for Jadhav&#39;s execution to be suspended until the legal battle in Hague concludes, while also accusing Pakistan of violating the Vienna Convention by failing to provide him with consular access and for being in breach of international human rights law.</p>

<p>To this end, India&#39;s and Pakistan&#39;s written responses have been submitted to registrar Philippe Couvreur of the ICJ.</p>
