The policy document said that "India’s strategic importance and leadership—both across the region and globally—will only increase" as India "the world’s biggest democracy—becomes the most populous country in the world and continues to grow its economy."&nbsp;

Number of steps have been listed to increase engagement with India, which include bolstering Canada’s visa-processing capacity in New Delhi and Chandigarh, support for "academic, educational, cultural, youth and research" exchanges and accelerate cooperation in the fight against climate change.

Special emphasis has been put on increasing economic ties especially by concluding an Early Progress Trade Agreement (EPTA) and creation of a Canada-India desk within the Trade Commissioner Service to promote implementation of the EPTA. The document also hopes for an India Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement as a natural outcome of EPTA.&nbsp;

According to Indian govt estimates, India’s total trade with Canada (goods and services) in 2021-22 was US$11.68. Bilateral trade in services in 2021 was US$ 4.88 billion. Canadian&nbsp;Pension Funds have cumulatively invested around US$ 55 billion in India.

The strategy highlighted that both the countries "have a shared tradition of democracy and pluralism, a common commitment to a rules-based international system and multilateralism" even as both sides have "mutual interest in expanding our commercial relationship and extensive and growing people-to-people connections."

Ulemas are seen as influential figures in Islamic society and the meeting is seen as a way to take forward the cooperation to promote tolerance, harmony and counter violent extremism and radicalisation. A joint press release will also be issued at the end of the event by the 2 sides.

The meet is also expected to discuss growing defence cooperation between the 2 sides. The new facility has been inaugurated on Monday, by the Chairman, of ISRO, Dr S. Somanath, senior officials from ISRO and the Agnikul team. It has been designed by Agnikul and executed with support from IN-SPACe (the government entity which supports and promotes private space firms in India). This facility comprises two sections - Agnikul Launchpad (ALP) and Agnikul Mission Control Centre(AMCC).&nbsp;

Additionally, it has the ability to, as necessary share data and other critical information with ISRO’s mission control centre.&nbsp;

Agnikul’s first launch will be a controlled &amp; guided mission having a vertical launch and&nbsp;will happen from this launchpad. The mission would be a technology demonstrator that will mirror Agnikul’s orbital launch but at a reduced scale. The company's&nbsp;Agnibaan rocket is a highly customisable, 2-stage launch vehicle, capable of taking up to 100 kg payload to orbits around 700 km high (low Earth orbits) and&nbsp;enables plug-and-play configuration. Agnilet is the world's first single-piece 3D printed engine fully designed and manufactured in India and was successfully test-fired in early 2021 &amp; became the first company in the country to test its engines at ISRO.

Speaking at the inauguration event,&nbsp;Secretary, Dept. of Space and Chairman, ISRO, Dr S Somanath&nbsp;said "The first exclusive launch pad for a private launch vehicle has come up at Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC). In line with this, India has witnessed a multiplication of start-ups in the space sector, recently India’s first privately built rocket was launched into the upper atmosphere, and satellites built by Indian firms were launched on India’s workhorse PSLV rocket (built and operated by the Government-run space agency).&nbsp;

The announcement from Agnikul takes this further, as it would be the fifth operational rocket Launchpad in India. ISRO operates two main launchpads in Sriharikota meant for its large orbital rockets and has a Sounding rocket complex for its smaller &amp; sub-orbital rockets. At a UN counter-terrorism meeting in Mumbai in October of this year,&nbsp;Antony Blinken and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar brought up the idea of designating the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack's planners as international terrorists. At the conference held at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, one of the locations of the 2008 terror assault, there were representatives from each of the 15 UNSC members.

A statement by President Droupadi Murmu on Twitter read: “We share the enduring pain of their loved ones and families. Nation pays homage to the security personnel who fought valiantly and made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty,” the tweet further read.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh also joined in paying tributes to the victims of the attacks. In a tweet, he said that he “salutes the memory of all those who lost their lives in this incident”. “My heartfelt tributes to the security personnel who sacrificed their lives while fighting this attack. This country has not forgotten the incident of 26/11, nor will it ever forget,” his tweet read.

One of the deadliest terror assaults in Indian history, the Mumbai attacks in 2008 lasted for four days till November 29. These attacks resulted in the deaths of over 150 people, including police officers, civilians, and even foreign nationals. In the attacks, more than 300 individuals suffered injuries. Up to 10 members of the Pakistani Islamist terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) reached Mumbai over the Arabian Sea and wreaked havoc by carrying out coordinated operations in many different sites throughout the Indian financial centre. Along with the Taj Hotel, the attacks also occurred at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Leopold Cafe, the Nariman House, and the Oberoi Trident.

The move had faced criticism, and the mosque has now claimed it was only intended to stop "obscene activities" in the premises.

Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, told ANI news agency that they had observed several instances over the previous few days where women and girls were engaging in "obscene activities with men" inside the mosque. As a result, the masjid's committee decided to post a notice outside the entry gates stating that "women who aren't accompanied by their family members or are alone are not allowed inside the mosque." On Thursday, someone discovered the warning that had been posted a few days earlier.

Unaccompanied women frequently meet men within the mosque and have a tendency to "act improperly" and "wait for their dates," the masjid had stated, while those who arrive with family members are allowed entry.

Following the announcement, Delhi Lieutenant-General V.K. Saxena got in touch with Shahi Imam Bukhari and asked him to revoke the directive. Both the National Commission for Women and the Delhi Commission for Women strongly condemned the ruling and demanded that the necessary steps be taken.

Shahi Imam Bukhari said: “The mosque is a place of worship and not for couples who do improper activities. We do not have any issues with couples coming here but they should only come here to offer&nbsp;namaz. I spoke to L.G. Saxena and our administration has decided to take back the order. We only issued it to preserve the sanctity of the mosque. Hereon, whenever we see a couple indulging in such activities, we will counsel them and call their parents to instruct them to not do so. The masjid administration does not want to prevent anyone from worshipping”.

For every increase in the price of crude oil, there is an increase in the price of edible oil, which in turn has a negative impact on the economy as a whole. The Reverse Bank of India plans to raise the interest rate by 90-100 basis points in the near future in order to keep inflation in check. Due to the increased cost of obtaining a loan, this will have a significant negative effect on the expanding economy.

The chips crunch has already had a significant impact on the global electronic economy, and it is already being felt around the world. Because of Russia's significant involvement in this industry, the situation will only get worse if sanctions are imposed against it. If the global economy continues to contract and global supply chains are further stressed, the price of electronic commodities will soar. Indian households will feel the effects of this significantly.

Metals, that make major part in our daily, has also major impact by this war as most the metals are either produced or refined in Russia or Ukraine, is also witnessing a great price hike globally. That has resulted in a significant drop in operating profits for the auto industry, as well as an expected rise in prices in the coming quarters.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that travel costs are expected to rise in the near future, making the situation even more difficult. If the price of crude oil continues to rise, airlines are preparing to raise ticket prices because it is having a negative impact on operating costs.

Pharmaceutical companies will be forced to raise prices as a result of the Russian invasion in the days ahead. Considering that the pandemic is still raging, this could lead to the collapse of the Indian family unit.

India must be cautious at this time because of the numerous sanctions imposed on Russia and the fact that Russia is a close ally of India. India may be playing it safe internally, but sanctions will have a significant impact on the economy as well as on the long-term impact on India's national security. With ten deaths over the last month and a sharp spike in cases, India’s financial capital city Mumbai is staring at a&nbsp;measles&nbsp;outbreak.&nbsp;

Until November 24, 2022, Mumbai has reported 252 &nbsp;confirmed cases.&nbsp;

Measles&nbsp;is a common infectious disease, especially among children, in which your body feels hot and your skin is covered in small red spots.

Children aged between 09 months to 5 years are mostly affected by&nbsp;measles.

In Mumbai, this is a huge jump from the last two years. In 2019, the city saw 25&nbsp;measles&nbsp;cases and in 2020, only nine were reported the entire year. But this year, in less than two months, 233 cases are reported.

In Mumbai, there are seven hotspot areas currently - Dharavi, Govandi, Kurla, Mahim, Bandra, and Matunga reporting the maximum number of cases.

“The start of the outbreak was indicated in October when the city reported 60 cases as against a mere 25 in September this year. That is when we decided we need to start surveying slum areas which are reporting maximum cases,” said Dr Mangala Gomare, Executive Health Officer, BMC.

Surveys revealed that due to the pandemic,&nbsp;measles&nbsp;vaccination of children got affected. Close to 20,000 children missed their&nbsp;measles&nbsp;vaccine.

“Our survey report suggested that only 41% of the eligible children had taken vaccination. We have started to raise awareness in these slum areas and track the children who have missed them. We are holding vaccination camps for them too,” said Dr Gomare to WION.

The BMC has issued an advisory stating that ‘Given Measles&nbsp;outbreak in Mumbai all the citizens are appealed to vaccinate their children between 9 months to 5 years of age with&nbsp;Measles&nbsp;containing vaccine.’

To contain the spread, vaccination camps, door-to-door surveys, and awareness sessions are being held by the city administration.

The bumper harvest of apples this year in the valley brought cheer to the apple farmers in Kashmir valley&nbsp;but now they are considering it one of their worst years in terms of profitability. With the prices plummeting by over 50 per cent and no place to store the crop, the apple farmers of the valley are worried sick.

The apple farmers are getting 50-60 per cent lower prices than what they managed last year. The farmers say the demand for Kashmiri apples in the market has come down which has become a worry for the majority of apple growers in the Kashmir valley.

“We face a lot of problems like cold storage. Main cold storage facilities get booked in advance and due to the bumper crop, the growers were left with no option of storing their crop. It’s still lying outside and farmers don't know what to do with it. There was an issue with the national highway as well. And when all this crop reached the 'mandi' (market), there was a dip in prices," said Shahid Chaudhary, general secretary, New Kashmir Fruit Association.

"In a 'Mandi' which gets 50-100 trucks daily, over 150 trucks arrived and that eventually lead to dip in rates. We have been asking the government for more cold storage units. We have very less cold storage, we have requested the government time and again. There should be mini cold storages in small villages too," added Chaudhary. &nbsp;

One of the reasons for the dip in the rates of Kashmiri apples has also been the apples from Iran. The import&nbsp;of Iranian apples to India has affected the market of all the apple-producing states in the North of India, including Kashmir.&nbsp;

The apple growers and associations have requested the central government to stop the import of Iranian apples so that the market of home-grown apples is not affected.

"The Irani apples have ruined our market. We have asked central government to ban Iranian apples as it has affected our market. One of the reasons for dip in the rates of the Kashmiri apple is due to the Iranian apples," said Chaudhary.&nbsp;

Kashmir region has around 700,000 families associated with horticulture. And Apple is one of the major contributors towards the GDP of Jammu and Kashmir. With 3.5 million people associated with the apple industry, its contribution to the union territory's GDP is nearly eight per cent. According to data, there has been a 15-20 per cent increase in production this season.&nbsp;

"We had a bumper crop this year but there was a dip in the rates of the apples this year. The expenditure on boxes, fertilisers and pesticides has been more this year but rates have gone down. We are getting 300-400 rupees less this year per box as compared to last year. Iranian apples have impacted our market a lot, not only Kashmiri apples but also all other states in India. We have time and again asked the government for stopping the import of Iranian apples," said Bashir Ahmad, an apple agriculturist.

Last year, we would buy for 800 rupees per box and sell it for 1000, but this year we are buying at 450-500 and selling at 600 which is leading to a lot of losses. Iranian apples also affected the Kashmiri apples," said Dinesh Yadav, a buyer.

All the apple growers across the Kashmir region have requested the central government to save Kashmir's biggest industry by banning the Iranian apple as well as by constructing more cold storage space in the valley.&nbsp;
