The JIT has also said that three more shooters, in addition to the one who was arrested, were involved in the attack.</p>

<p>Imran Khan is chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. He was shot at on November 3 when he, along with his supporters, was standing on a container-mounted truck in Wazirabad area. At the time, Khan was leading a long march to press for his demand for snap polls.</p>

<p>"Shots were fired by three unknown shooters also, from unknown weapons from a considerable height other than the gun attack carried out by the suspect, Naveed Meher, arrested from the spot," the Dawn newspaper reported quoting a member of the JIT on Tuesday.</p>

<p>The JIT, led by Lahore Police chief Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, said Khan was hit by three bullets on the container-mounted-truck during the protest rally. A total of 13 people had suffered bullet injuries during the attack.</p>

<p>The JIT also pinpointed "some mismanagement" in the security arrangements at the PTI's rally.</p>

<p>Home Minister of Punjab in Pakistan, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, said earlier that the attack on Imran Khan was an "organised one and well-thought-out conspiracy".</p>

<p>Naveed is a "trained assassin" and he was present at the crime scene with his accomplices, the minister said.</p>

<p>He said Naveed also failed a polygraph test. Naveed had told police he wanted to kill Khan as music was played at the time of ‘azaan’ during Imran's rally.</p>

<p>Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, slammed as "farcical" the First Information Report (FIR) that was filed by the Punjab province in the case regarding the assassination bid on him.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Taking to his official Twitter account, Khan wrote that on the issue of the FIR, his lawyers will give the position of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.</p>

<p>"All my life I dreamt of seeing my country as a prospering welfare state &amp; my struggle throughout has been to make this dream a reality for my nation. Today the nation has awakened, understood &amp; risen," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"In support of my message of justice, freedom &amp; national sovereignty. When we are so close to our goal no fear or threat of death can stop my struggle. Our peaceful.protests &amp; dialogue are only for Pakistan's Haqeeqi Azadi".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Last week, the former Pakistan PM escaped what his supporters called a bid on his life, when he was shot in the leg two to three times at a political rally.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The FIR was registered on Monday after the country's apex court issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Punjab police to so. The Supreme Court issued the order to the IG of Punjab Police, Faisal Shahkar, to file the FIR of the gun attack and to submit a report within 24 hours.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The prime suspect Naveed was arrested on the spot and has been named in the case registered under various charges. However, PTI leaders rejected the FIR, terming it a "mockery of the law and the top court's order."&nbsp;</p>
