<h2><strong>Dzheppar's visit to India</strong></h2>

<p>Last month, Dzheppar visited India and met the Secretary (West), of the Ministry of External Affairs, Sanjay Verma and several other officials. While speaking to reporters, she said that India, as a global player, has the potential to be a leader in promoting peace and justice worldwide.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"India as a global player really is the Visha guru of the world. I think it's crucial that we are the victim of the War, of unprovoked war, of the Neo-colonial war," she had said.</p>

<p>During her visit, she also said that she hoped that India will play an active role in addressing global issues and challenges, particularly in the areas of economics, energy, and nuclear policy. Asked about India-Russia energy ties, Dzheppar urged India to diversify its resources, including energy and military contracts, to avoid being dependent on any one country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We are not in the position of instructing India, in their economic ties with other countries. I think that India should be pragmatic in diversifying the energy resources, in diversifying military contracts, in diversifying political interaction," she added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A tweet posted by Defence of Ukraine’s official account seemingly depicting Indian goddess Kali morphed over a blast fume outraged netizens in India who have deemed it to be offensive and “Hinduphobic”.</p>

<p>“Work of art,” the official Twitter account posted the picture on Sunday showing the Indian goddess having an <a name="_Hlk133751169">upskirt moment </a>similar to Hollywood actress Marilyn Monroe.</p>

<p>The Indian users were livid with Ukraine for mocking the Hindu culture for the caricaturish depiction as it bore a resemblance to the revered Hindu deity with its blue skin colour, tongue sticking out pose and a wreath of skulls around the neck.</p>

<p>Canada-based filmmaker Leena Manimekalai has been summoned by a Delhi court on a plea seeking an injunction to restrain her from "depicting Hindu goddess Kali smoking a cigarette in her new film". Manimekalai's film ‘Kaali’ has been alleged to have shown the Hindu goddess in a derogatory manner in the poster and promotional videos.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Manimekalai has been ordered to appear before the Tis Hazari court in Delhi on August 6 by Additional Senior Civil Judge Abhishek Kumar, who stated that she needed to be heard before any orders were passed. The judge said that before making any orders against the defendant, the defendant must be heard.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Summons have also been issued to the filmmaker’s company, Touring Talkies Media Private Limited, and the matter will be heard on August 6.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Advocate Raj Gaurav, who has filed the petition, has accused the filmmaker of depicting Hindu goddesses in an uncalled-for way in the poster and promo video of her upcoming documentary film Kaali. Further, the advocate claimed that the film’s poster "depicts Hindu goddess Kali smoking a cigarette, which not only hurts religious sentiments of the common Hindu but is also against basics of morality and decency".</p>

<p>In the plea, the petitioner has said the videos and images are distasteful and demanded their immediate removal from social media sites.&nbsp;"That the objectionable video clip and photo must be banned and removed from the internet on an immediate basis considering the defamatory impact and enrage it would cause to Hindus as it disparaged the religious beliefs of a particular community."</p>

<p>The poster showing the Hindu goddess smoking has come under fire from various sections of society for its inappropriate depiction of the goddess and for hurting the sentiments of a particular community.
